Very interesting cleeve hurdle and the class horse is Oscar whiskey but will he stay?
If you fancy reve de sivola who stays forever and goes in any ground, I advise splitting you to split your stake and have half on him to win today and also the wide open world hurdle at a very, very good 20/1 at laddies, hills were 12s and joes 14s so at 9/4 and 7s the 20s is very good

If you look back I’m a fruity fan and have backed him before and thrown another win bet at him, my other bet in the race is Frontier Spirit who I like very much.
Apart from a place pot my only other bet will be from sentiment, Weird Al has ability and will win again soon

Love the old tales
nice to hear the losers too but the winners are best to read
I’ve been going to the derby for over 20 years now so concentrate on that a lot. We had made our mind up that Reference Point and Steve Cauthen were a good thing so backed him accordingly every payday. Come the day he was napped up by all and a very short evens fav on the tissue! We always arrive at between 10 and 11 trains dependant so couldn’t wait to see what was on offer, 11/10 and evens was the best offered so we made our way on to the middle of the course and to cut a long story short one bookie went 6/4 so I badgered him to get better until he offered us 2/1 but the minimum was £500, well we had 2 coach loads and they all wanted some so the book came out and we got £1800 so we added another ton each and the bookie took the £2000 bet, the rest was down to Steve and what an awesome ride from the front

Petit Robin I Grand Annual

I’m happy with that about Bob and totally agree with Hadrians, cracking price for a top yard only because of the false short price about DYNASTE!
I do hope we get some racing soon though so trainers can blow the cobwebs with the younger horses, not so important with older types as they know them inside out

Have you seen JPs latest acquisition?
That Pendra I told you about a few weeks back! Me thinks Mr McManus is looking to have is best festival ever

AP could at last challenge for top jock at Chelts

I know what you’re saying about Chapoturgeon but he is a monkey and plenty short enough, as is my selection who looks nailed on for a nice Ew chance.
Salsify is the horse for me

Agreed its a tricky call but I know Team Nicholls are very astute and the World Hurdle is the race

Foxhunters?
Have you taken Tidal Bay for the Stayers? With both Ruby and Mr Nicholls wanting to go for this race I’m sure the Wylies will roll over and listen

Nice one, I admire the way you select your horses and wish I could do the same
chelts and Derby Day do it for me and thankfully I do very well ayr both nowadays.Do you go in ante post on the Foxhunters? I never do but have a very good record in the race but this year (unusually) I have taken Salsify as I know he likes the course and ground and that he will have a good jockey come the day
Agreed Thomas didn’t cover himself in glory but maybe the horse doesn’t put it all in!!
What horse has been backed of yours for the festival?
Darlan? Hate the AW but with the snow I’ve been out and all mandatory chores have been completed so I’ve had a look.
Two of my old buddies have runners that could go well. Firstly an EW chance goes to Andrew Reids Taming the Tweets at 16s in the 405.
The main fancy however runs at 220 and Angelic Upstart must have an outstanding chance for several reasons. His trainer is going well and takes off a valuable 7lb with the very capable Tom Brown (a name to remember), runs the course well and 11/2 was a fair price

Had an interesting day trying to get a price for Pearl Swan to win Betfair and Champion Hurdle, now bear in mind he is 10s and 50s!!!
The first bookie offered 100s, then 66s and generally 100s all round and as always win only, now I was stunned to be offered 250s and a maximum of 20 ew from laddies, I’ve never been offered ew ante post for a double so have jumped in just in case

Ha, it frightens me sometimes the number of horses we go for the same!!
Petit Robin was the one, I’m chewed though as nobody will give me a price so had to accept the 20s from Stan James!! Hopefully there woll be bigger and better soon, awesome form and Mr Henderson has this one plotted up for sure

Gord: any thoughts on the Grand Annual? I have a sneaky feeling for one and wondered if you had any thoughts

Gord: love that reply

I have just heard some rather bad news re my Jetski, going straight to the festival without a prep run means he has a massive negative trend to overcome so I racing more in hope of a run and place now

The plus side means MTOY looks to have the perfect profile so I have gone in again at 12s mate
Pearl swan will go well if he turns up mate.
