I visit Unison Day at Donny every summer. This year it is scheduled for 01 August.
What chance do you think that the meeting will go ahead as planned? if so, do you think crowds will be admitted??

Following received from BHA in respect of Racing commencing with crowd
Good afternoon,

Thank you for your e-mail. It is not possible currently to give a definite date when racing in front of crowds will return. Our plans continue to allow for a resumption in May without crowds, if that is possible. We assume it would be behind closed doors only at a point when the safety of participants can be assured and the pressure on the health service allows. Tough biosecurity measures would be in place to keep any risks to a minimum. The BHA has been working with trainers, racecourses and other participants to develop a phased plan for resumption which will allow the sport to transition back to its normal fixture list later in the year. We remain in constant contact with government and are ready to respond quickly, and will give further updates as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Can any our Irish colleagues enlighten us whether they believe the weight allocations to the Irish contingent as a whole has been fair. Or has the UK handicapper ‘added’ a few pounds here and there.
Also, a further request – any horses that our Irish comrades believe may have got in ‘lightly’, although I don’t believe the UK handicappers are prone to gifting the Irish

They HAVE to aim for G/S, or good at the very most
Many years ago the going went to good to firm. I believe this going ‘encouraged’ the horses to go faster culminating in nine deaths (correct me if I am wrong with that number).
Ironically the majority were hurdlers.
At the Festival, speed and hyped up jockeys lead to tragedy. G/F will invite such calamaties.
