and a very good post Bosranic

As has been pointed out before, few people seemed to have the same outrage at john diamond and Ruth picardies public diaries of their tragic circumstances

As for the "racism"…it was ugly bullying more than anything else (goaded on by two unpleasant housemates) and the comment were certainly a lot less offensive than prince harrys or certainly less vile (and repeated) than ken livingstones jew baiting remarks

What is happening to Jade Goody is bloody awful and anyone without sympathy I’m afraid is a sick human being.

"A vile racist"? For calling Shilpa Shetty Shilpa Poppadum? For F**** sake crime of the century, hang the girl now!!

    God bless you Jade.

    Perfectly put Ian…

i agree with irish stamp that the relatively small pool of NH horses back in the black and white days has probably led to some champions from that era being a bit overated. It was surely naturally a lot less competitive…

Never ever watch Top Gear, but Clarkson is a supposed controvertialist, except that he isnt…because his "opinions" are so very predictable. Hes the ultimate saloon bar bore. nothing he says is remotely of any interest whatsoever…

Hes perfect for the Top gear audience

Jesus, you jocks and northerners eat horribly. No wonder you are all brown bread by 60

    Always disliked crisps.

    Snacks?

Peanuts. And peanut butter on toast. Has to be Skippy brand (although M&S’s own is good)

Cavs baked bean on ciabatta is not bad though

40 years of leadership by a corrupt billionaire warlord who was kicked out of almost every Arab country he lived in, that leadership passed on to a gang of neo Nazi thugs is the real big picture tragedy for the Palestinian people imo.

Until they collectively as a people get their act together (all 11 million of them) they haven’t a hope.

    Precisely

i wonder if any of the anti…..lets just say Israel for now…. obsessives on here ever considered boycotting Chinese goods after the …"poll tax riot" in Tiannamenn sq?

And given that Israel is a world medicine and bio technology, i trust that they remember to question any life saving drugs that they might require sometime in the future

I would boycott Islamist technology, Islamist fruit and veg, Islamist services, Islamist manufacturing

…but where the fck is it?

Second biggest export from saudi arabia is

    —– Second hand goods…(a fact)

Israel produces stuff that can be boycotted. The arabian world drills holes in the ground and little else.

Thats a big part of the probelm IMO

Sorry to hear that Grey desire. Same here sadly.

I have gone more fequently since dropping football from the agenda and would say i go 20 times a year. More jumps than flat. Living in SW london is perfect for good racing and about now, its possible to go to a decent meeting every weekend that is within easy reach

There is still the buzz of "being there" as well as just being in the open air for an afternoon. I agree with the paddock watching advantage too

I never bet every race (sometimes a few as 2/3) and barely drink (excpet for two particular days out ). I like the social element too

If you are used to premiership prices, the cost doesnt seem prohibitive at all.

Dont think punchestown truly acted on the ground and for me, hes still the best prospect for World hurdle, especially giving 8lbs away.

This is the problem isnt it?

It hasnt sunk into some people that he is president of the……. USA

I think he would be well advised to tell them the realities of life…

" Cuba? WHO? Fck off. Its US of A first second third… you commie cnt"

Just finished reading the superb Choice of Enemies by lawrence Freedman

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Choice-Enemies- … 364&sr=8-1

Oslo is covered superbly and Dave you are right. The Palestinian behaviour was very poor, but perhaps the underlying difficulty was the feeling that any palestinian leader signing a treaty would be signing his death sentence. In effect, the militants are still running the show

Maybe times will change, but its obvious that first move has to come from Hamas. And that will probably in itself cause a split. There are unreconstructed genocidal extremists within that organisation (as with the lefts favourite Hezbollah…) who wont go away quietly

I didnt watch any of it. I certainly expected the BBC to be race obsessed and that would have been too much to bear.

Hasnt it crossed their mind that their constant emphasis on this angle would probably greatly embarrass Obama himself?

This was a bodged opportunity. Essex is probably the biggest conurbation without a racecourse (admittedly Newmarket is very reachable) and a smart appealing venue would surely have succeeded

The key with any enterprise such as this is to hit the ground running. They didnt…

Paul…which two courses i wonder? Worcester? Yarmouth?

So, just to clarify, Clivex, if you were walking down the street and an elderly woman fell over in front of you, you’d stand there laughing?

No.. I would think about it (as you suggested) ..and piss myself later

(it was an extreme example i will admit..)

Correct? How do you define what is correct when what we are talking about is a biological process? Are some groups of neurons correct and others incorrect?

Shouldnt that have been suffixed with "politically" ?

Moehat…mate of mine was a bus driver who (on pension days) used to love ramming the anchors to send the pensioners and their shopping all over the place. Brightened up his day no end

There may well be jokes that initially I might chuckle at, but on reflection, when my brain has had time to process it, I would stop laughing. The initial reaction isn’t more honest, it isn’t a truer reflection of who we are, it is just a neurological process.

    Dont agree

The first instinct is probably the correct one. So what if you laugh at some old bag tripping over with her weekly shopping?

Trying to stop yourself at laughing at certain incidents/jokes is as bad as trying to make yourself laugh at Vic Reeves or someone
