More heavy rain in Cheltenham today. Get on 2-1 for soft going at the start of meeting. It may dry out quickly, but we have had more rain here in jan and feb for many years.

I skimmed your article. If you talk about being a journalist I am not sure where to start. For the record, Paul Barber is the joint owner of Denman. Its should read it’s. It’s been raining heavily in Cheltenham for much fo the day and it”s likely to e soft or good to soft on the day.

Having said that, I agree one of the short priced priced favs will be turned over. I suspect it will be BJK.

Lee is a great commentator. I would put him behind John Hunt and Richard Hoiles. More importantly he’s one of life’s nice guys. His Five Live commenataries on 30 runners frm Newmarket when he could see bugger all are legandary.

I worked with him a few years ago at Cheltenham in my local radio days. His commentataries then, like his Five Live ones, were off top class.

Lee good to hear your voice on the circuit.
All the best.

AP. If they’re not all over the Fallon case then should be a stewards’ inquiry.
The cost cutting is all to do with paying for the coverage of the cricket and rugby world cups. It’s not just racing that’s being cut, news is taking hits across the output.
They’re cutting all over the place on five live to save cash for other sports rights. Every programme is having to axe something to save cash.

The buses are very frequent from the station. At a fiver they’re a bit pricey, bu they’re the quickest way to get back from the course to the town and the station. There is always a long queue for taxis but very few taxis there cos the traffic is so bad. The buses also get priority to leave the course.

Detroit City has done nothing wrong, but he’s far too short at the mo. At the moment it’s HE for Ch, but if — as we all expect — DC drifts on the day to a sensible price, he will be great bet then.
It was a total shambles. After the debacle at the Paddy Power in 2005, the management promised action. But quite why they allowed a chase to be scheduled ayt 3.55 is beyond me. After all the messing about, the sun was so low and behind the clouds that there was no problem from the sun.

This makes racing look completely stupid. Cheltenham never seem to learn.
I feel agrived cos I’d backed New Alco who stays all day, but needs to jump fences to show his true colours.

Returning to earlier comments, me thinks he has mixed up bibury and birdlip.

I always take notice of when he is shorter on fancied horse or bigger than the rest of the ring.

Me thinks Freddie is having us on. You couldn’t land a chopper at the smart hotel in Bibury. You would have to come down some distance away from the Swan.
Lydia is a refreshing independent view.
alan Lee is a top class writer — the best around. He is also a close watcher of the hobbs yard. and a great judge of horses. We both shared a view on a sun alliance chase winner several years ago.. Also he’s ghosted a couple of good NH racing books

As a jumps fan, ATR have the Irish racing and a big chunk of the average tracks. For the rest, if you know how you can watch it live on the net.
