Where does the quiz take place guys?
Jonny
For what it’s worth, as an ex-professional sportsman, winning is the most important thing in the world. When we look back in 10 years time it won’t say Fairley only won because Buick was banned. It’ll say Fairley won!!
I agree that maybe he shouldn’t of said what he did but then again journalists are quite capable of making things sound worse than they are in order to stir up a bit of interest and reaction.
Second place is the first loser.
Sea Bird’s ‘ 65 Derby (only horse in living memeory to win race without coming off the bridle) & Arc wins (both on YouTube). In Black & white but still well worth the watch.
Also on YouTube, Nijinsky’s 1970 King George & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes saunter – where he made his five opponents look like selling platers.
Quality Himself. Many thanx.
P.S In one of the Red Rum videos there’s a great shot of him and Dessie together. Anyone know where you can get a hold of not just this picture but other racing related works too?
Being a relative youngster I had to investigate what all the fuss was about so I just watched the 1973 National on Youtube.
AWESOME. Poor Crisp, after the last fence I still couldn’t see Red Rum winning.
Anythin else I should watch out for?
Real shame. A star that didn’t get the chance to shine as brightly as he should.
To be honest Yeats, as I’m reltatively new to racing this thread is more a fact finding mission to begin with but who knows where it may lead!!
Thanx for the info
.
JonnyDermot,
Thanx for the info. Much appreciated.
I’d love to have a look at the constitution just to get a good idea of what’s involved. I could PM you my e-mail address and we can arrange that way.
Let me know if this suits.
Jonny
Thanks for your insight.
Noted and very much appreciated!
I have only recently joined this forum and to answer your question, no I haven’t posted this before.
I am relatively new to racing but have developed a deep passion for the sport and in order to take this to the next level I was looknig into syndicates. I happened to stumble into Mr Eddery’s website and was intrigued.
I was just looking for info or feedback, nothing more.
bit on the RP site about him today
Where?
A very fair point. My point wasn’t really about the cost although I realise it may have sounded so, but more the principle.
Everyone, not just hardcore racing fans, looks forward to the Derby, Goodwood, Ascot, The National, Cheltenham etc, and I just feel it would be a sad day if these were taken from our screens.
I know many people who aren’t racing fans but enjoy watching the big events on TV.
I myself have a subscription for Sky and RUK but I know many people, particular elederly who love racing and couldn’t afford these services. Personally I think it’s a sad state of affairs. Especially from the BBC.
Mick Channon’s Aussie import Mutawaajid could be an interesting one – don’t know much abot how the races were run/won but on a line through Gold Edition, wouldn’t be miles beind either Miss Andretti or Takeover Target. The Gr2 that Mutawaajid won was obviously only a warm-up for Gold Edition for the big Newmarket (in AUS) Handicap NTO where he lost to Miss Andretti but the 16/1 seems generous enough about the horse for Saturday. Bowman is also very familiar with the horse having ridden him several times back in Oz.
I agree. I saw him on ATR and he looked nothing short of magnificent.
Anyone know of any decent syndicates based in Scotland?
Hi. I’m just new on here and relitavely new to racing. This thread interested me greatly and I have just watched all Tajjree’s runs on the ATR website and was very impressed by her maiden win and by the comments on here the ground didn’t suit at Newcastle.
I hope she’s is back running soon and I look forward to seeing her in action. Good luck.
I don’t think so mate. I just thought I’d introduce myself. Nice to meet you.
cheers guys
