Hamish for me too
He needs 16 to drop out
Cambridge scratched.
Ballydoyle only have Diego left in.
Jack, on breeding you would give him every chance of staying, and if he does stay the 12 furlongs well then I can’t see him out of the top 2.
However, I thought his finish in the Futurity was fairly weak and casts down on his ability to see out the 12 furlongs.
I’d love to see him win.
Couteau, he’s been entered in the Derby trial at Leopardstown on Sunday, plus he’s still in the Derby after today’s latest scratching.
I’ve copied you and backed him too.
Couteau, I don’t think it was the same maiden.
Harzand won his maiden on 26th March.
Spoken Truth won his maiden on 26th April.
Same course and distance though.
Harzand then won the Ballysax.
Maybe Spoken Truth will run in the Derby trial at Leopardstown on Sunday.
Ginger,
That’s an amazing effort, a terrific read.
Many, many thanks for sharing. It really is a top class piece of analysis.
The one beaten yesterday was beaten due to being too keen, jumping very poorly and running over a trip too short.
However, I would like too see his horses in better form.
Thanks Peter, I didn’t realise that
I really want Desertmore House to get in, but I fear he is going to miss out by one or two.
I think the only ones that will drop out are Janadil (trip), The Goffer (trip), Conflated (may well go to the Bowl) and Bronn (trip).
Barring injury, I can’t see any others
Trainer said after the run at Ascot that Mac Tottie’s next race would be the National. He said at the age of 11 it was now or never regarding Mac Tottie running in the National.
He was never asked a question at Ascot. It looked like they just wanted to get the run into him.
Thank you Peter and Tin Man 👍👍😎
Is it still a minimum of 6 chase starts in order to qualify to run?
I see Salvador Ziggy has only had 4 chase starts and Meetingofthewaters has 5.
If it is 6 chases by when would a horse have to run it’s 6th race in order to qualify?
Ginger, do you think Mac Swiney has a soft ground action?
There is no doubting he acts very well on soft ground but to my eye his action doesn’t suggest he needs it.
What do you think?
All about opinions but the first two need the soft going to have a chance. ^^
The second won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on fast ground, he doesn’t need soft going.
The third; Van Gogh won a group 1 in France on heavy ground, so he’s proven in the past he can be very competitive on soft ground.
Mac Swiney given an RPR of 119 for today’s win.
Based on RPRs he is the highest rated horse entered in the race.
Mike, I’m not sure about that.
Jim Bolger said that Mac Swiney was found to have had a respiratory infection following the Derrinstown. Therefore, I would put a line through Mac Swiney’s running that day.
You saw the real Mac Swiney today.
