HAMISH 4/1
Everything is perfect for him on Saturday especially the ground. Getting old but can still win here
October 2, 2024 at 21:09 #1708853I don’t think that this is a race to bet two on the day of the race, never mind two at this stage, but I have anyway.
I like Hamish too at 4-1, and he’s obviously for the win, but I’ve also bet Gather Ye Rosebuds 16-1 ew
October 2, 2024 at 21:26 #1708858Hamish for me too
October 3, 2024 at 15:07 #1708921I’ll try Lafayette at 28-1 ew
October 3, 2024 at 15:26 #1708924Will sit on fence until certain 8 are at the post then will place small EW Salt Bay his third behind Hamish and Al Qareem reads well and 8s seems a bit to big. He has his quirks still only won a maiden but if as said 8 go he is the EW bet for me
October 5, 2024 at 09:41 #1709045Hamish a non runner.
Taking a chance with God’s Window, needs to improve but will like the going. The more I know the less I understand.
October 5, 2024 at 11:33 #1709065Al Qareem for me
October 5, 2024 at 14:32 #1709100What was Fallon doing that far back never going to win from there.
October 5, 2024 at 14:33 #1709101I didn’t have a bet and I know Al Aasy can be awkward but Fallon is not going to want to watch the replay. Did he really think he was going to make up that much ground up the short Ascot straight?
October 6, 2024 at 12:50 #1709167Stewards Report:
“An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Al Aasy, ridden by Cieren Fallon and trained by William Haggas, which finished second, beaten 2 lengths. Fallon was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
Fallon stated that the instructions were to drop out and be patient on the gelding. He explained that he found himself in a pocket further back than ideal when the eventual winner, Al Qareem, was asked for its initial effort and extended away from the field on exiting the back straight. He added that upon entry to the home straight he was conscious of its running style so he asked the gelding to lengthen when in the clear before asking for its maximum effort approaching the final furlong.
Fallon’s explanation was noted.”
Translation
Fallon: I was too far back.
