    Now I understand……

It was Miss Scarlet in the Library with the Candlestick.

If that’s not it can you put me out of my misery and tell me what you’re going on about because it’s more confusing than an episode of Twin Peaks!

Thanks for that Gerald, probably makes sense why he debuted at Kempton…I think I’ll keep my pennies in my pocket for now.

What has being an agent who ‘got binned’ by his employer got to do with his tipping prowess?

I would be grateful for anyone’s thoughts on Godolphin’s U.S. bred Mendip.

He won a class 4 at Kempton easily beating the Micheal Jarvis trained Musaafer who then went on to ‘make all at a canter’ in a class 4 maiden at Pontefract.

I notice Musaafer is entered for the Racing Post Trophy although Mendip does not appear to be entered up anywhere.

According to Oddschecker Mendip is available at 79s on Betfair for the Derby, apart from being a Godolphin horse, is there any other reason why I shouldn’t have a small dabble?

I haven’t read all 19 pages on this thread so I apologize if he’s already been mentioned.

I’m not too sure how people can crab the Guineas form.

    These are some of the subsequent winners to have come out of the race;

    1st – Sea The Stars – 4 x Group 1
    2nd- Delegator – Group 2
    4th – Rip Van Winkle – 2 x Group 1
    5th – Mastercraftsman – 2 x Group 1
    8th – Monitor Closely – Group 2
    9th – Finjaan – Group 2
    10th – Oceans Minstrel – Listed
    11th – Ouqba – Group 3
    12th – Lord Shanakill – Group1
    13th – Ashram – Listed

I know they have won over assorted distances but on the face of it that looks pretty impressive.

Don’t talk shyte Zark..ffs he’s without doubt one of the best milers in the last 10 years.

Fist, given your recent action in your Notebook thread, I think I’ll still clear of your judgements. Glass Harmonium Group 1 horse next year, Canford Cliffs best 2yo ever or whatever it was, Tryst the future Cambridgeshire winner, etc. Your judgements this year have been utter crap, so please don’t come on here giving one of your usual lectures because you’re just embarrassing yourself even further.

One of the best milers in the last 10 years ffs, for doing what? Beating a horse who hasn’t even won a Group race? Outstaying a 7f horse over a mile? Twice I might add.

Rock of Gibraltar, Henrythenavigator, Goldikova – they’re the proper Group 1 milers, the horses who prove themselves time and time again, against the best.

If ou had a brain you would be a worthy advesary but you mention Rock of Gibraltar and Henrythenavigator trained by the very man who trains Rip Van Winkle…….the very man who said 3 days ago Rip Van Winkle is the best horse weve ever had at Ballydoyle………But hey you’re the great Zarkava what would Aiden know in comparison to you  fookin idiot

But didn’t you say that when jockeys/trainers say ‘they are the best they have ever ridden/trained’ it’s just said to increase their stud value?

STS must be the luckiest horse thats ever lived, as it it’s obviously never raced another horse that was running over its proper trip!

Oxx won’t let STS face anything on soft, so I doubt he’s running scared of Stacelita!

    http://world-horse-racing.blogspot.com/ … aint+alary

Check this out and while you’re at it check out Sariska’s Irish Oaks win. Why would Oxx who lets say knows a thing or 2 about Horseracing even mention Stacelita in the same sentence as STS if she is so inferior as some of you seem to think?
It is true the ground in Ireland is heavier than Longchamp but that doesn’t mean Sariska is a plodder. However if the ground is good to soft on the softer side or worse I’m 90% sure Youmzain will be in the top 2 or 3.

What I’m saying is Oxx wouldn’t let STS face anything on soft, not even Hercules the Steptoe horse, so the fact he says he wouldn’t want to face Stacelita on soft is neither here nor there.

I’m sure this must have been discussed hundreds of times…but..how does this work in relation to ‘pacemakers’.

By their very nature are they not being sacrificed for the benefit of another, surely then being deprived of their best possible finish?

Most burn themselves out and if they were human in a 1500 metres would step off the track after about 800 metres, instead they are more or less allowed to finish in their own time.
