Seefood ran yesterday, and despite being well beat, I remain upbeat about him, particularly when he gets his favoured good ground.
Got 5 running today

Baily Green looks to have a live chance. Still feel he’s a bit underrated and still maintain he should have won The Arkle. More than happy to forgive him his last run, having lost a shoe. He faces Buckers Bridge, who’s been a bit incosistent, but although found out at this level last time, a better run here wouldn’t be a total shock.
Been really happy with Outlaw Pete this season, and looking for a repeat of his performance in this race last year, erm, bar the unseat of course. Led them a merry dance then till his exit, and fairly confident.
Twigline has an obvious chance in the novice hurdle, and she really must go close. Hopefully on the way to bigger things in the future.
Finally, Plan A. Was convinced he was a plot horse for Cheltenham. He wasn’t…….he was just a bit ropey to be honest. However, still get the feeling they looked after him a bit, and he’s certainly not weighted out of it, if he can recapture his best form.
I feel a Mug 15 coming on.
August 10, 2013 at 09:17 #448008Been a while since I put anything up on here, but spotted a couple this week who could go on to better things.
Pool House
was very green on debut at Sandown the other night, before finally getting the hang of things late on with an eyecatching finish.
Red Galileo
also made his debut last night, but for no luck in running, would have been a debut win.
Fully expect these 2 to win races in the near future.
At Kilbeggan tonight,
Double Seven
, attempts to make it 3 on the bounce over fences. Hard to predict from JP’s huge string, what the future stars are, but just think he’s the type to continue progressing nicely, and hopefully we’ll see a lot more of him in better races over the winter. Doesn’t look overly punished for his last 2 wins.
Another victory for Double Seven, and won shade cosily. Hopes are building for him this season. I’ll wait for his next run though, before speculating on any potential targets.
August 23, 2013 at 07:52 #449249Red Galileo runs at York today, and fully expecting a big run. Normally wouldn’t pay attention to a 2yo, even if they ran over the top of me, but he looked very interesting last time. Hoping he runs a big race, on the way to hopefully taking his chance in The Racing Post Trophy.
Again, did his best work late on, and happy enough with that, but obviously got to step up slightly next time. He should come on though. Hopefully his second to another good looking newcomer will read well.
August 24, 2013 at 10:00 #449389Pool House makes his re-appearance today at Newmarket. Really liked the look of him last time, and judged on that performance, the extra furlong today will be right up his street. 9-2 to looks very fair too.
He’s been a bit disappointing to be honest, and I’ll leave him alone for now. Thankfully not wasted any cash so far. I’ll still keep an eye on him, but not too hopeful…fingers crossed.
October 13, 2013 at 11:53 #454791Double Seven runs in The Munster National today at Limerick.
These types of races are always tough to land, and he’s shooting up the weights, but fairly confident he can get involved. Like the way he’s battled in his races so far, and hopefully he’ll still be involved when other have fell by the wayside.
If he does win, or at least be close, with his big hike, then I think it’ll be onwards and upwards for bigger targets later in the season.
October 16, 2013 at 14:49 #455071Prompter
Runs over 1m 2f at Nottingham today.
Caught the eye at Market Rasen last month over hurdles, bang there at the end, before running out of steam. He wasn’t really asked a question, and considering connections, can’t help thinking he was looked after a little. Has done most of his racing on the flat, and just a hunch, but think he might be of interest over hurdles in the coming months.
Ran adequately, didn’t really expect him to go close, and obviously more of interest once he’s back over hurdles.
October 27, 2013 at 12:28 #456375Double Seven runs at Wexford today in The Listed Chase. He doesn’t owe me anything already, but still hoping he lands this.
Fairly confident he can handle this step up in grade today. He’s got softer ground to handle than he has for his last few wins, but that isn’t as much as a worry than Ruby Walsh on Laganbank…….his only ride of the day at Wexford.

Five on the bounce, and getting excited about him. Won it with ease, and surely more to come. Very encouraging that he handled the step up in grade, as well as the softer going, and 33’s still available for Aintree.
November 3, 2013 at 10:37 #457171Didn’t really get a chance with The Game Changer last season, so I’ll keep tabs on him again this year.
Looked really good when landing his bumper last year, and feel there’s plenty more to come. I had every mishap available last year, and the set was completed when TGC was brought down on his last run…….in a bloody bumper

Very confident he can land a few races this year.
November 9, 2013 at 10:33 #457766Clondaw Knight
Looking forward to his seasonal re-appearance, after really impressing with his jumping at Arlary Open Day……just look at this testimony…..
CLONDAW KNIGHT
5 g Lucinda Russell
Started his National Hunt career in a Cheltenham bumper but cut no ice, and though improving a little was a bit keen in hurdles subsequently. I was impressed by him at the Arlary Clubs Open Day as has a raking stride and jumps confidently. Seems to have got it right between the ears and to have strengthened a bit, so that he’s likely to leave previous efforts behind.
.One that impressed me at the Arlary Open Day was
Clondaw Knight
who schooled very impressively in front of the Racing Club members gathered. He rated good enough to be taken to Cheltenham for his bumper debut but didn’t cut any ice there. He ran thrice in hurdle races and the form doesn’t look to exciting, but to my eye he has developed over the summer and seems to have got it right between the ears now.
Most impressive was CLONDAW KNIGHT, a gelding who seems to have developed nicely over the summer. He covered the ground nicely on the circular sand gallop and looks a natural jumper who should go well over fences. His hurdles form was ‘so-so’ but I wouldn’t worry about that as he looks likely to leave that form behind over fences.
.Good old Rob, doing my work for me.
I hope he doesn’t sue
November 23, 2013 at 10:45 #459467The Game Changer’s back out at Gowran Park today, and I’m hoping to see him build on his win at Cork earlier in the month.
Happy enough with his seasonal re-appearance, though main thing today is to see him jump just a little better. If he can keep an error free round, then the 7-2 on offer should look a little generous.
Finished 3rd, but disappointed with him. Although his jumping showed a marked improvement, he was in front at the last…….and found little. Was probably fortunate to place too, as the favourite came down on the flat.
November 28, 2013 at 00:43 #460024Get Back In Line
Stood out a mile on his debut last season at Plumpton, finishing second to well fancied stablemate Mr Watson. Gave him a mention that day (not on this thread), as I was immediately impressed. He was 33-1, but clearly looked decent, and wasn’t given too hard a time, before winning nicely next time at Carlisle.
He’s not been seen since, but I’ve been patiently waiting for his re-appearance. Got
very
high hopes for him.
Runs in The Gerry Feilden at Newbury today, and I see him as huge danger to his better known opponents, including
Chatterbox
, who I’ve bet as an outsider for The Champion Hurdle. It’s a quandry I could do without today, but really hoping they fill the first 2 places.
I’ll go out on a limb, and say he’ll figure at Cheltenham in March, and in future seasons.
November 28, 2013 at 07:50 #460031Apache Stronghold
Meant to add this one after Navan on Sunday. Looked a really nice prospect, barely breaking sweat. Hit the last, and back on the bridle immediately, was very impressed.
Near the head of the market, for The Neptune, and The Albert Bartlett, I won’t be betting him just now though, but I’ll be a bit disappointed if he doesn’t make The Festival off the back of that.
November 30, 2013 at 12:08 #460350Despite unseating, was really happy with the run of Get Back In Line. Travelled nicely enough, and though he wouldn’t have won, he was starting to get competitive. Considering it was only his 3rd appearance on a racecourse, I’m pretty sure there’s more to come.
Cockney Sparrow
Despite managing to not realise that he was actually a she, I really like this horse. From what I’ve seen of her, she looks very promising, and lots to like about how she went about her business last time. Think she’s got the ability to land a few decent pots in the next coupla seasons, and hopefully can start of a good run by landing a place in The Fighting Fifth today.
Citizenship
He did me a huge turn in the MCR Hurdle at Leapordstown almost 2 years ago now. Had pretty high hopes for him too, but kinda lost his way a bit. Wasn’t given a great ride in The County Hurdle at Cheltenham that year, and just hasn’t seemed to go on since then. He’s now been switched from Jessica Harrington to Venetia Williams, and starts out at Newbury today for the new yard. Not necessarily expecting today to be the day, but if the switch has had an immediate effect, then he’s potentially very well treated. Whatever happens, he’ll be of serious interest come The Festival.
As expected, today wasn’t the day. Went out like a light, having been bang there coming into the straight. He’s clearly not right though, to fade like that, and I still plan to take him seriously, should he appear at The Festival. Plenty of time for Venetia to "work her magic" for one of the big handicap hurdles.
December 8, 2013 at 12:08 #461286The Game Changer runs in the opener at Punchestown today, and I’m hoping for a lot better than last time. Still surprised by how little he found when he was left in front last time. I’ll keep the faith though, and despite that showing, expecting him to go very close today. No surprise too see a change of tactics with him.
A lot better today, and really happy with him, held up as late as possible, and won as he liked. Still not sure how he’d fare in a scrap, but remains very promising.
December 19, 2013 at 10:49 #462200Citizenship’s back out today, running at Exeter. Got a bit of work to do, to land this, based on how he finished last time, but plenty of time to get him ready for Cheltenham surely. Still be interested in seeing how he fares today, certainly against lesser opposition than last time.
Back to form today with a nice win, and, hopefully, more to come on the road to Cheltenham. Very pleased with that.
Quick update on Prompter. He’s ran a couple of races in defeat since last mentioning him. On the face of it, he really should have won those races, but still got the impression they’re being very careful with him. His second to Jumps Road, has a better look to it, after The International Hurdle on Saturday. Still worth keeping an eye on
December 21, 2013 at 13:58 #462604Starplex
Seems strange to put up a horse who hasn’t seen a racecourse yet, but having been lucky enough to meet this "character" at the stables, I’m hoping he can translate the exuberance he shows at home, to the racecourse.
I’m a sucker for quirky types, and I’m hoping he can pick up a few races. Shot in the dark though!
Three way finish, and he just held on to win, great to see him win on his debut, and good attitude too, he never gave up. Difficult to speculate what he’ll turn out to be, but can’t ask for a better start than that.
December 27, 2013 at 13:44 #463093The Game Changer reappears at Leapordstown today, and it’s in a very hot looking Novice Hurdle.
The 3 ahead of him in the betting are all very well thought of, but regardless, the 12’s available does look very generous. Won’t be a disgrace if he gets beat here, but if ridden in similar fashion as last time, then he won’t be far away.
Either way, I should know a lot more after today.
I certainly do know more after that……he’s not good enough to take these top 2 milers on. Where to go after this though? I’ll not totally desert him, and he may have chance of a few decent pots in him, with a step up in trip……but it’s still early days with him, so a "wait and see" job. Still, very disappointed with that to be honest.
