Yeah, after his win Rob, I thought chases would be the main plan, we’ll see. I’d hope the owner hasn’t had the final say, but after the blows he’s had, I hope it works out for him. I’m sure they know what they’re doing, fingers crossed.

Returns to action from a long lay off today. Ran a blinder in the 2011 World Hurdle, finishing 5th. Takes in 2m hurdle today, but in reality needs further. If he retains most of his ability, then I still think of him as a potential RSA horse, however, first things first, I hope he puts in a promising round today.
Had a decent spin round, and didn’t seem to show any ill effects from the layoff. Obviously had him earmarked as an RSA horse, but after the injury to Big Bucks, he might just be a dark horse for The World Hurdle now, snapped up 100’s to 120’s just in case.

Novice hurdler from Oliver Sherwoods. Really impressed with the way he went about his business at Bangor last time, finishing very well, with a bit up his sleeve. Takes a step up at Newbury tomorrow in the 1500 against some very decent sorts, but I’m fairly confident he’ll be there pitching at the end, putting himself in the frame for some decent races later this season.
Another I’ve put up previously, Tour Des Champs, runs at Ludlow. I had very high hopes for him this season, but his jumpings went to pot. I’d be happy to see a nice clear round tomorrow.
Really pleased with Outlaw Pete the other day, finally winning a decent prize. Should figure in the Cross Country at Cheltenham obviously, but still holding out hope he ends up at Aintree.February 9, 2013 at 16:15 #428992Drum Valley runs in the next at Warwick, been really looking forward to his reappearance after his eyecatching run last time. Strikes me as needing better ground than he’ll face today, but hoping he does the business anyway.
Kept an eye on his Cheltenham entries, and only entered up so far in The Neptune. Took the 380’s to 410’s.
Plenty
more obvious selections than him for that race, but happy at that price to take chance. Think he’s a horse with a decent future.
Emptied out quite quickly, but still think he’ll be seen to better effect on better ground.
February 15, 2013 at 14:18 #429653Twigline lines up in the next at Sandown. Won very easily last time, she’s an exciting prospect, and surprised to see her over here this month. Another I’ve bet for The Neptune, managed to get 70’s to 75’s, after holding off………and holding off again, eventually missing all the nice prices

I’ll be disappointed if she doesn’t land this, but I’ve accepted if she does, she’ll end up going for Albert Bartlett anyway.

Fell at the last with the race won. There’s definitely a few nice races in her, she’s sure to have her day.
February 16, 2013 at 11:33 #429760Tour Des Champs runs in the Reynoldstown, and obviously up against a couple of nice horses. Bet this guy for a few quid in RSA, but just got the feeling they might go handicap route with him. If they can sort out his jumping, touch wood, I think he’s still got bags of potential. I’d still go RSA route with him, it’s a tough race, but he’s been picking up plenty of experience this season. Should know more today. Looks they type to progress nicely to some of the big staying handicaps next season.
Triggerman ran a blinder in Welsh National, and would have been a huge win for me………it wasn’t to be, just not lasting home. He deserves a decent prize after that, and looks nicely weighted today. Slight step down in trip should suit too. he’ll probably find one too good, but very hopeful of a place.
He was a big disappointment yesterday, I have to say I really fancied him. I’ll watch with interest, and see where they head next. If that was a ‘blip’, then he remains very well handicapped.
February 17, 2013 at 13:44 #429869Couple that stood out yesterday, with an eye to Cheltenham, were The Cockney Mackem, and Bouggler.
TCM travelled very sweetly on his reappearance, and if he ends up at The Festival, I’ll almost certainly have a go with him.
Bouggler was doing his best work at the end yesterday, and having shown snatches of promise this season, that was much better.
I’ll keep an eye on them, along with..
Prince of Pirates
De Boitron
Sailors Warn
CiceronMarch 11, 2013 at 19:04 #432060Well, a few of these have made it, and hoping for some decent shows from them. Done a Lucky 63 with 6 of them, assuming Triggerman, and Saphir River miss the cut. I’ll do a wee treble on the 3 running tomorrow as well.
Baily Green @ 33’s – Total outisder in The Arkle, but only needs mishap from one of the favourites and could sneak a place. Showed himself to be just short of top class this season, but still a very nice horse. Don’t want to deck him, but difficult to think of a more impressive jumper this season. He was one of my 2 main hope for the season along with…………..
Tour Des Champs @ 28’s – Total opposite from Baily, in that his jumping has been unpredictable. Ahem! If he can can put in a clear round tomorrow in the JLT, 28’s is massive, for a horse of his ability. Still a novice, but looks tough as old boots already, and battle hardened.
Outlaw Pete @ 11-2 – Obviously takes in The Cross Country. Tailor made for this discipline, and has a serious chance. Probably be tailed off at halfway, in fact I’ll be very disappointed if he isn’t.

Lyreen Legend @ 12’s – Sticks in my throat the 12’s, as I waited and waited for his price to keep rising on Betfair for the RSA, until I eventually missed all the triple figures on offer. Deserved it to be fair, too greedy. Was always gonna be an RSA horse. Live chance.
Jetson @ 16’s – Runs in the Pertemps, and the race I’ve had in mind for him, ever since they scrapped his chasing career, which makes sense. Very genuine, and never far away, be quite surprised if he isn’t in the first 5 or 6.
Hisaabaat @ 25’s – Had a few quid on him for Champion Hurdle, but to be honest he’s been a massive disappointment. Needs to step it up a bit, but I’m hoping the return to the scene of his Triumph second, and hopefully drying ground, will see him do so.
Left out Triggerman (Kim Muir), and Saphir River (Grand Annual), but at their very best, if they make it, would be very interesting outsiders.
Best of luck all
March 13, 2013 at 14:04 #432460Baily Green put a smile on my face yesterday, and at one point, nearly a heart attack as well. I think on another day he would have won. Safe to say I’ll be following him again next year, surely couple of very good prizes in him. Strange thing to say for an Arkle runner up, but still see him as a National horse in 2 or 3 years.
Saphir River takes his chance in the Coral Cup, and looks up against it. He’s a decent horse, and even if he doesn’t show it today, I’ve had a wee go at the 66’s. Permed him with Lyreen, Jetson, Outlaw Pete, and Hisaabaat as well
March 15, 2013 at 13:07 #432923Shame Outlaw Pete didn’t quite land it yesterday, but I’m pleased that a few I’ve put up have actually managed to place at The Festival, a couple of winners would have been even nicer.

Hoping Hisaabaat lands me a few quid today too, I need a lift, been a difficult morning.
March 15, 2013 at 15:09 #432963Well, Hisaabaat was a major disappointment (again), but on the whole, quite happy with how most of them fared…….and the L63 landed me the princely sum of
£215
. Now if only Hisaabaat had etc etc
Got to look on the bright side though, if the rain hadn’t come, I’d probably have had a right go on him, sensibly decided not to, as I’m not convinced the drying ground would have mattered that much in the end against the front 2……..
Probably won’t put any more up for a while, but couple to look out for from this thread.Triggerman in the Bet 365 Gold Cup, I’ll have a go when it’s priced up. Spring ground should see him go as close as he did 2 years ago.
Buckers Bridge may benefit from missing Cheltenham, and sure to see him at Punchestown.
Others of note.
Nataani – Possibly the only horse I seen this week who was "looked after", he’ll surely pop up soon.De Boitron – surprised he missed Cheltenham, expect him to win this season, hopefully at Ayr at The Scottish National meeting.
March 17, 2013 at 10:43 #433299Twigline runs at Limerick today over 2 miles. Still smarting from her last flight fall when she had the race won at Sandown last time. Like then, she should land this barring accidents, and remains a horse of serious interest for the future.
April 1, 2013 at 11:43 #434675Panther Claw
Well fancied for Irish National today, and if over his exertions of a fortnight ago, should go close. Ultra Consistent in these staying chases, I think he’ll develop into a very smart type. Actually slightly fancy Rapidolyte De Ladalka slightly more today, but won’t be unhappy if Panther wins.
Main reason for his inclusion here, is that he’s already, regardless of todays result, a horse worth bearing in mind for The Welsh National.
Fortunate to finish 5th in the end. Not sure if a mistake he made close to home made much of a difference, as he was well beaten in the end. However, he ran well for a long way, and bearing in mind, his slog a fortnight ago, he still gives me plenty of hope for next season, particularly with Chepstow in mind.
April 4, 2013 at 14:00 #435044Jetson runs in the final race at Aintree today. Wasn’t given the best of rides at Cheltenham, but ran on well to finish 3rd. To be honest, I fancied him strongly that day to at least place, and was good to see my faith restored to some extent. AP is up today, and that may be significant, given his ride the last time.
Others mentioned here this season. Saphir River is, erm, a 250-1 shot in The Aintree Hurdle. We’ll leave it at that.
2 horses who I gave a brief mention to, Ciceron, and Nataani both run today also. I better have a small perm on all of these mentioned, just in case and all that. Ciceron was mentioned as a horse who would be worth bearing in mind for a decent prize, and todays race may just fit that bill. Nataani was mentioned as horse to watch next time out, and bet him at 20’s today, he’s currently attracting a fair bit of support…………….this thread influencing the market yet again.

As for the others, Ciceron fell at the first, and Nataani fell at the last. Nataani’s fall will haunt me for a while
April 6, 2013 at 08:28 #435428My horse of the year, Baily Green runs today. Hoepfully the track will not be too sharp for him, as I see him stepping up in trip in the future. Love the horse, and have bet him for next years Gold Cup at 100’s to 150’s……..so far

2 others who I had high hopes for, Seefood, and Tour Des Champs also run today. TDC was my other big hope for the year, and Seefood had me excited for a while too.
If TDC can keep his jumping together he’s got a live chance, and Seefood only needs to capture the spark from his early season runs to take an involvement. Both have a decent ew chance today.
Tour Des Champs had things happening too quickly for him, but any race where he doesn’t clout one is good enough for me. Bet him now for Scottish National, but not convinced he’ll go there, as may be too soon. Can see him popping up in one of the big staying chases next season.Seefood ran a blinder, and I’m hoping he stays over hurdles next year. Tend to think the better ground suited him today, and he’ll be of serious interest next year in decent handicaps…..should he stay hurdling.
April 17, 2013 at 14:20 #436517Drum Valley, and Nampour both out at Cheltenham today.
Drum Valley I’ve still got high hopes for, and happy to put his last run down to the ground! Looked full of running at the end of his races earlier in the season, and the better ground today should bring about a similar performance!
The same applies to Nampour, his poor performances are getting blamed on the ground. Any old excuse and all that! Maybe not expecting as much as Drum Valley long term, but when conditions fall right, like today, I’m still hoping he can go close in races like these.
Bet both last night at decent odds, and chucked em in 2 or 3 multis. Pleased to see em both getting backed today!
Drum Valley really needs 3 miles, but once they click, I think they’ll win a few races judging on that performance……..as for Nampour, well, he was well bet, but looked like he hated every second of it, he’s been disappointing, simple as that.
April 22, 2013 at 20:43 #437057The Game Changer
Runs at Punchestown tomorrow. Already put up by thehorsesmouth, and always good to have an Irish one endorsed by THM. This horse looks very good indeed, effortless in victory last time out. Won a few quid off him that day and hoping that continues tomorrow. 6’s looks pretty generous, and may be worth a go. Big future for this one surely.
**Have got 16’s with Boylesports, but that’s pending correction as firm may have made a "slight" error

Was delighted to see Tour Des Champs placing in The Scottish National, enjoyed following him this season, and although he’ll only be 7 next year, wouldn’t surprise me to see Aintree on the agenda, especially with the dramatic softening of the fences.
Lyreen Legend also returns at Punchestown after his excellent show in the RSA. Top notch field, with the Wylie pair, and Dedigout lining up, I hope he can put up a decent performance. Bar his fall earlier in the season, I’ve been very happy with him, and he’s still one for consideration next year.
Lyreen Legend ran a blinder, having had no luck in running, nearly getting brought down at halfway. Not convinced he’d have beaten the winner though, who really clicked. Talking of no luck in running, The Game Changer was brought down……in a bloody bumper!!!! The way the race panned out, I’m pretty sure he;d have taken care of them…….till next time.
