Lots of them going on round our way today Nathan hope you found a few lost treasures.
Glad to have found a way to post up my picture, she looks quite small when you see her but what a little pocket rocket BettyF is powering home up the hill at the finish.

Nice one Jac! She did well to win as she had plenty of ground to make up. She looks a bit like Queen Kindly don’t you think? Hopefully she has a future.
I read yesterday that Frankel has now had 53 individual winners and remarkably 50% of those have either then won or placed in Stakes company.

August 28, 2017 at 16:01 #1316067That’s a very nice picture Jac!
And the balance that Joni posted is really imposing.August 28, 2017 at 19:58 #1316077Nice one Jac! She did well to win as she had plenty of ground to make up. She looks a bit like Queen Kindly don’t you think? Hopefully she has a future.

Welcome home Joni
we’ve missed your posts and agreed she does have the look of Queen Kindly about her and a very similar way of finishing off her races. Hoping those two white stockings will be all a lot of horses see of her as she powers into the lead, would be great to see her finish the season off unbeaten, but where to next for our Betty?Thank you Hein, glad you liked the picture, they go down so fast in front of you I was lucky to get her in focus especially with sun shining on my mobile…
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 31, 2017 at 15:52 #1316290Icespire at Sandown tomorrow, Joni. What do you think?
Back down to a mile, plenty of pace angles to haul her into the race…
Can you talk me out of fancying her off 85?
September 1, 2017 at 07:51 #1316361I’m on her LS3. Read recently that she has been working well and expected to have thrived for her break. The mile should suit and, as you say, pace in the race should help combat the free-going tendency. Her biggest danger is likely to be herself but worth the risk off a mark that should be well beneath her ability. Good luck!

September 1, 2017 at 08:43 #1316363Also on Icespire at 3/1 which could seem very generous at the end of the day
Great to hear that she’s been working well Joni and this seems to be the time of year when the Frankel babes come back fighting fit. Good luck to all players.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 1, 2017 at 19:09 #1316404Quite a good run from Icespire despite doing so much wrong again. She looks like such a little balltickler though.
You’d think she might need further but if she steps up in trip will she settle? Then they might try aggro tactics at a mile etc etc etc
September 1, 2017 at 19:21 #1316405To be fair it was a very messy race LS3. She was badly hampered by the faller early on and found herself a long way back. She ran on well on ground that looked softer than ideal. At least she seemed to settle better this time. I think the trip is right and she will go close off a similar mark next time. But she’s no world beater.

September 1, 2017 at 20:14 #1316410True, a messy race, though it looked like Icespire was going to be anchored out the back no matter what.
Perhaps I’m a bit too harsh on horses in general but I do tend to auto-blackball the type that puts the head on one side and wanders around under pressure.
September 1, 2017 at 21:20 #1316413Betty F in motion:-

RPR only 78 for now but she holds Rockfel and Cheveley Park entries.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 2, 2017 at 01:39 #1316438Nice to see that race again Steve with BettyF asserting up the hill at Newmarket
As Joni says she’s very much in the mould of Queen Kindly and although she hasn’t beaten much as yet with those two entries we will see if this daughter of Frankel is going to be able to hold her own against the very best and let’s hope that Clemmie goes for the Moyglare
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 2, 2017 at 08:56 #1316445All the talk in Australia this morning is about the run of Merovee. Finished like a train over 6f and is very highly regarded by Chris Waller. He is being aimed at their Guineas.

September 2, 2017 at 09:59 #1316454Hands in pockets times Frankel fans, Paul Cole has put Rhodes House up for auction in Wednesdays HiT sales he’s run once and come plum last but don’t let that put you off!
The horse was withdrawn from 2 yearling sales last Autumn, I’d imagine the owners wish they had kept one of those engagements now and got a better price for him.September 2, 2017 at 16:46 #1316509Goldrush wins very nicely. Looked good there but not sure about the form of that maiden.

Didn’t she win it well though?! Very promising.

September 4, 2017 at 12:41 #1316604A big week for Frankel. Tomorrow sees the much anticipated debut of La Figlia, the daughter of Finsceal Beo, who cost a mere 1,800,000 euros. Hopefully she is up to winning a Kempton maiden though I am surprised to see her starting off over 6f. Must be showing some speed. She has Ryan on board.
Then on Friday we have potentially 3 exciting 2 year-olds in the same race. Herculean is a full brother to Fair Eva trained by Roger Charlton, Elarqam is the son of Attraction and cost 1,6 million guineas and Wadilsafa is also highly regarded and has been nibbled at for the classics. All hold entries in the big races. On the same day we could be seeing Betty F in a novice race.
On Saturday I am hoping to see Eminent run in the Irish Champion. I don’t think they have decided whether it is this race or the Arc yet but I think this 10f trip is better for him given the way they are riding him now.
Finally on Sunday we could see Finch and Cracksman in the Prix Niel. If either of them were to win well then the Arc would surely have to come under consideration.
Exciting times.
