Pull out lame this morning?
November 10, 2006 at 11:11 #103152Something like that
November 12, 2006 at 09:40 #103153Non-runner at Fontwell today, alas, as I need to prepare for a new job tomorrow – have been thwarted from going to Kempton, Lingfield and Fonters during this last week for an assortment of reasons, so the withdrawal symptoms are becoming steadily more acute. Bah.
Looking pretty good for Huntingdon next Saturday, though.

November 12, 2006 at 21:24 #103154Best of luck with the job, GC :)
November 16, 2006 at 19:02 #103155May well pop up to Huntingdon myself Saturday.
If I do I hope the weather will be better than it was when I went to the corresponding days racing three years ago.
November 16, 2006 at 22:00 #103156Not so sure there’s a course I won’t have visited over the last week/next week…..although Wincanton today was aborted at the last minute!
November 17, 2006 at 22:40 #103157HJ has been declared at the overnight stage for Huntingdon but in true Hen style conditions will have to be perfect for me to take my chance.
November 17, 2006 at 23:04 #103158Last minute change of heart and will probably go to Ascot as it’s easier for travelling and I want to see if it really is as bad as some have suggested.
Plus it’s a better quality card all told.

November 18, 2006 at 21:28 #103160How long has the new building at Ascot been open and yet already we have a situation today where an area of the building was suffering from a leak dripping from the ceiling,(dunno if that was a result of yesterdays rain) but either way not ideal.
£8 for Burger+ Chips seemed a bit OTT also.
Do we know if HJ was a late stratch at Huntingdon?
Racing Demon certainly was given the thumbs up by Hen.
PFFFFFFHHHH!!!!! £4.00 for a deathburger at most tracks is daylight robbery, considering what you get at some point-to-points. I must have got half an adult pig’s worth of meat in a bap for £1.50 when I last went to an Easingwold ptp a couple of years ago.
I can confirm that HJ was actually in attendance at Huntingdon, GD, as was Smithy and some ex-Sportsmen other than myself.
Unlikely to be at Towcester tomorrow, alas, as girlfriending duties will probably win out. Oh, and I need to find somewhere that’ll sell me some new DMs as mine have finally collapsed under the weight of black masking tape and holes [looks for emoticon depicting "skint"].

November 19, 2006 at 10:53 #103162Smithy at a jumps meeting? I don’t believe that one little bit.
Wolverhampton is thataway :point:
November 19, 2006 at 12:20 #103163‘Tis true, HJ, Huntingdon being relatively close to Chez Smithy. From what he tells me he gets to the Dingley PtP once a year also.
Next week : Graysonscolumn goes to a Kempton twilight card. Or not.

November 21, 2006 at 23:51 #103165‘Tis my birthday this weekend so I might just spend the whole of it cuddling Mrs Column over a few bottles and thinking what a lucky soul I am. Outside chance I might get to Towcester on Saturday all the same, but no better than outside. Any of the usual suspects likely to be there?

Bless!
I may have a runner there (shock horror) but am definitely unable to go (Boo). Enjoy it if you do go.
November 23, 2006 at 14:23 #480Off to Wolverhampton tomorrow and if things turn out poorly I’ll need to find a local watering hole to drown my sorrows..
Anyone know a good pub near the racecourse?
