“CAS, dint you play Southend last season away?”
Yes, we lost 1-0 in the last 32 under Jim Bentley.
I had a look at the Southend forum earlier. They seem reasonably pleased with the draw, albeit worried about what allocation they are going to get. They clearly wanted to avoid Wealdstone (a jinx team, I believe) and Marine (they knew the ground is tiny and they would get hardly any tickets).
It is quite a big night in NLN. South Shields play Fylde in a top of the table clash. Both are well clear of third place, so the result will have an impact on the title race.
More importantly, Alfreton are away at Kidderminster and Hereford are away at Scarborough. I hope the home teams do us a favour!
March 4, 2026 at 06:34 #1757131South Shields beat Fylde to go top of NLN.
Alfreton lost and Hereford only drew, so the results went Southport’s way. Surprised to see Leamington defeat Telford but I think it is too little too late for them.
Southend could only draw with lowly Truro City. We don’t need to be scared of them. While our potential Trophy final opponents Wealdstone were defeated at home by Jim Bentley’s Morecambe.
Peterborough Sports, our next opponents, have just appointed a new manager after having lost their last four matches. Phil Brown has been booted upstairs as “Director of Football”, which seems like a way of sacking him without trampling on his ego.
March 4, 2026 at 17:28 #1757173Southport need a major collapse to be relegated. If they can beat Southend, in the Trophy id hope that the focus on the league is maintained.
I saw the draw for the FA Vase, Punjab United are in there, great name for a team from Gravesend. Rather funny for me as the first match I ever attended was Banbury V Gravesend and Northfleet back around 68/69 and Gravesend are now Ebbsfleet. So last night Banbury upset the bet by beating second in the SLPC Harborough Town, and move closer to the playoffs for NLN. Brackley scored a 94 min goal to loose 3-2 at Rochdale, messing up my 3-1 correct score.
So when I see tonight’s line up for Cobbs Ill have a dig at goal scorers. Can’t belive Eves is 9s, as hes suspended..
March 4, 2026 at 18:58 #1757185So Nolan makes 9 changes, obviously has some tactical master plan to win this..
All Hatters final I suspect, but happy to be proved wrong.Elliot List can hit a ball, so for an interest 1st goal

March 6, 2026 at 18:23 #1757325Nice one CAS, standing or seating? Im a terrace man myself.
March 6, 2026 at 18:32 #1757327Unimpressed with Nolan still, even more unimpressed with the owners.
They are so happy to have planning permission granted for the warehousing next to the ground, obviously not been watching the football as Cobbs slowly slide into League 2.The last correct score PAT returned 3.5, courtesy of Luton winning 2-1.

-175March 6, 2026 at 21:29 #1757382Seating for this one.
I usually sit in the stand in the first half and stand on the Popular Side terrace for the second half. I won’t be able to do that for this game. It will be a sell out and they will be more diligent about checking tickets.
I believe we have given Southend the minimum 15% to which they are entitled, which equates to about 800.
March 7, 2026 at 10:55 #1757432Peterborough Sports away today. I won’t be getting involved but I hope we beat them. At least it is our last long away journey of the season, unless we get to Wembley. The remaining away fixtures are all fairly local.
Tranmere Rovers, just across the Mersey, have been on a dreadful run of results and have sacked their manager. I think they will be OK but I know a few of their supporters are getting twitchy.
March 7, 2026 at 12:20 #1757459That will be a great day out CAS, only 800 away fans, keeps the noise down.
I wonder how much input Phil Brown will have for todays match, Id bet he cant keep his nose out of the changing room if Southport are winning at half time.Boreham Wood V Brackley, I see nothing other than a home win, so Ill have another stab at a correct score.
4-1 2@18s

March 7, 2026 at 13:12 #1757475Blimey, at this rate Brackley might be on their travels in NLN again next season.
March 7, 2026 at 13:46 #1757481Brackley pulled one back.
Edit: scrub that, make it 3-3!
March 7, 2026 at 15:59 #1757519And it finished 5-3..See you next season..
March 7, 2026 at 17:20 #1757526Bad luck. I thought they had pulled it out of the fire.
Great win today and satisfying to put one over on Peterborough Sports. The other results were broadly favourable as well. The league table looks a lot better and there is now a huge opportunity with three winnable home games in the next 10 days.
March 7, 2026 at 17:47 #17575295-0 win away for Morecambe. It looks like Jim is working his magic. He has only been appointed to the end of the season but if they have any sense they will give him the job now.
March 8, 2026 at 07:18 #1757570The rich man’s vanity project AFC Fylde being held to a 1-1 draw by as good as already relegated Leamington via a 95th minute equaliser is one of the highlights of the week.
South Shields won and are now 4 points clear at the top of NLN.
A football ground vlogger was at the Peterborough Sports v Southport match. He almost managed to miss Southport’s goal.
