“Northampton Town have had a World Cup winner play for them, who is he?”
I am stumped on that one.
I hope we can back up Saturday’s win tomorrow. It was a good afternoon but Hereford were woeful in the second half and look in big trouble. Buxton will be sterner opponents but we have already beaten them twice this season, in the Trophy and league.
February 17, 2026 at 18:42 #1755056CAS he’s a German, and was loaned to Northampton for a month from Man Utd.
Buxton, will be a tough match, their not a bad side.
February 17, 2026 at 18:49 #1755059Freds got me again, 8s for the away win tonight is probably about right seeing the line up.
But, both teams are in the bottom two places for possession in L1, at 23rd and 24th. Apparently Cobbs are 23rd for successful passes and Lincoln 22nd. Expecting a less physical match with plenty of mistakes and neither side looking to hold the ball.
2@8s for the Cobbs to win.-2

OK, I had to look him up! I would never have got him but I wasn’t surprised to find out it was a goalkeeper.
I expect a lot of people don’t realise that David Raya played for Southport. He was in goal for 16 games in the 2014/15 season, when on loan from Blackburn Rovers.
February 18, 2026 at 14:02 #17551260-0 last night. Sounded like a dull game. Southport had the better of the second half and Buxton seemed to be content with a point from an early stage.
At least it wasn’t a defeat but Hereford winning with a last minute penalty was a bit of a blow.
Now it is two tough away journeys to Kidderminster and Radcliffe before the Trophy quarter final at the end of the month.
At least Leamington look doomed and Oxford, Peterborough Sports and Bedford are very much in the relegation mix. Worksop could get dragged into it as well.
Hereford and Alfreton having so many games in hand is an irritant but I can’t see them winning all of them, so they are still in the mix as well.
Peterborough Sports away and Alfreton, Oxford and Leamington at home are key games for Southport. Spennymoor at home is one we should be looking to win as well but they do seem to be our jinx team.
February 21, 2026 at 11:52 #1755593Northampton V Leyton Orient.
Relegation dog fight this one. After the 4-0 trashing at Lincoln Tuesday, I expect Nolan to be taking the taxi to the last chance saloon now. Although, I suspect Nolan, played a weak team on Tuesday with his focus on this match. Cobbs cant defend, so that gives the O’s a goal, McGeehan should be back today.Cobbs to win BTTS 4@9/2 boosted to 11/2 with Freds (he gets me every week)
McGeehan first goal 2@15/2
Dyche anytime goal 2@11
Correct Scores
Cobbs 2-0 2@14s (just in case they keep a clean sheet).
Cobbs 4-1 1@66Brackley V Southend
Brackley unbeaten in 6, I suspect that will end today and expect Southend to win 2-0.Correct score
Southend 0-2 2@7s
Double
Cobbs 2-0 Southend 0-2 1@119-12

February 21, 2026 at 12:16 #1755598That could be a tight battle for Southport to stay up CAS. How many points would bring safety? 46 Looks a good number.
Meanwhile Brackley Appoint the former Barrow, Solihull Moors and Banbury Manager Andy Whing to replace Gavin Cowan.
My first reaction was to see the odds for Brackley to be relegated, none available. Cowan has done well at the Shrews since leaving, 3 wins 1 draw and a defeat in his first match. The Kettering V Brackley fixture was postponed this morning.
February 21, 2026 at 12:55 #1755618It is difficult to say. Last season 40 points was enough to stay up. The previous season it was 50.
I see we are as big as 9/2 to win today. If we can put something like our best team out, I think that is overpriced.
February 21, 2026 at 14:27 #1755658Nice price 9/2 Im not tempted, dont want to Jinx Southport with my run of form.
Well done on finding the Cobbs claim to fame with the World Cup winner.
If Southport can average a point a game, that should be enough.Added Cobbs to win 4-2 1@80s..

February 21, 2026 at 16:07 #1755741The 4-2 looking good now Orient have gone 2 up..
February 21, 2026 at 16:57 #1755752If Nolan was a decent man, he will resign tonight.
February 21, 2026 at 16:59 #1755753A good away point. It would have been even better but Alfreton were 2-0 down with three minutes to go and have come back to win 3-2.
February 21, 2026 at 17:23 #17557562 down with three mins to go.. thats betfair 1.01 range, bloody heck!!
A point average per game and youll be playing Brackley again next season. Total collapse in the second half, 0-0 to 0-3 ..
February 21, 2026 at 17:38 #1755757Yes, the wheels seem to have come off for Brackley, unfortunately.
I am pleased for Jim Bentley, getting a decent win for Morecambe. Especially as they stuffed Eastleigh, given the way they messed us about last month.
Alfreton’s win is irritating but at least Leamington, Hereford, Oxford and Peterborough Sports all lost. As did Worksop and King’s Lynn.
I hope we can get a decent result at Radcliffe on Tuesday. We have beaten them twice this season in the FA Cup and in the league. However, they stuffed us 4-1 at their place last season. It is a horrid little ground with a distinct slope. I would take a draw.
February 22, 2026 at 06:43 #1755847Speaking of horrid little grounds, the lad who visited Brackley, Southport and Workington has just added Rossett Park, home of Marine to his list. I am dubious about the ground even being up to National League North standard. The facilities for away fans are disgraceful.
February 22, 2026 at 17:07 #1755929Extraordinary, if it is true:

February 24, 2026 at 18:10 #1756112Kings Lynn have fallen a fair bit recently, it smells of a Culverhouse trick to me.
To be fair apart from the young hoodie brigade at the beginning looked like a quaint ground.
