It would probably better if the new post font and the quotes changed places?
February 28, 2015 at 10:40 #764507You only need to worry about the red Nathan….! :)
February 28, 2015 at 11:40 #765292Hi Corm , in a word poor ….sorry to say that
I had to re register to post this , no doubt you will sort out things , the font is way too small . and I hate the layout
I like the opening photo of Ascot …but it goes downhill thereafter
anyway I wish you the best in sorting , but this present format just will not work

February 28, 2015 at 13:25 #765967I’ve increased the font size on posts. Better? Or worse? (I feel like an optician)
February 28, 2015 at 13:37 #766070Lol! Well I have to say I hadn’t noticed, so for me anyway, I’d like it a tad bigger still.

February 28, 2015 at 14:12 #766297Could only view yesterday, rather than, like many, actually log in. It wasn’t the best yesterday, and I had real concerns, but the improvement in the last 24 hours has been great, thanks all involved for the effort.
Once the Layout is as close as humanly possible to what it was before, then I think most people will be as happy as can be expected. I think when looking at the reasons as to why the change had to happen, then I’m happy enough, I’ll be used to it in no time. Bit of a gamble to do it before Cheltenham, but at least we’ll have a stable site for The Festival now, I can’t be the only one who remembers it being down for hours during Cheltenham last year, that’s no use to anyone. Also, I can’t be the only one who’s delighted that we’re not inflicted by that horrible generic platform, that every other site seems to use.
Everybody will miss different things from the previous versions……..for me, the “View New Posts”, and “View Your Posts” option, which was how I always navigated the site, are a massive loss. Still haven’t got my head round how to quote, but I’ll keep at it.
The “smileys”, and option for coloured fonts, will come hopefully as well, but probably not as pressing as the facility to edit posts.
I really hope the “edit” function can get introduced as soon as possible, as I used this function regularly. It’s an essential for me, vital, for keeping competition threads, and Systems & DLAP threads tidy, without having to do multiple posts. Another important function for me would be a “save” option. If I’m doing a “big race” thread, then I always used this function, though I suppose I can always save it elsewhere, and copy across.
One glitch I’ve noticed, in case anyone else hasn’t, is that “edits” have not transferred across, this is from roughly the last 2 to 3 weeks. Thankfully I had saved my Pricewise Thread just before the switch, if I hadn’t saved it, it would have been a nightmare……………To see an example of what I mean, page 1 of my Pricewise thread, has everybodys selections, and a race by race list of people picks. There were only 4 blanks (in The Neptune) left before the switch. I had been doing a rolling edit of selections, but a quick look will show that weeks worth of these edits have disappeared.
Was very worried, and unimpressed yesterday, feel a lot better today about it.
I hope my opinions come across as constructive………….and of those things I miss, and I’d like to see introduced, I just hope you can sort it out.
Thanks in advance
February 28, 2015 at 14:38 #766343Thanks VTC – agree with all those and will work to try to get all that functionality back as far as we can.
You should now be able to edit – can you check it
February 28, 2015 at 14:51 #766389Yeah, can now edit posts, thank you very much.
February 28, 2015 at 14:57 #766397Question about edits VTC – does it show on teh post that you’ve edited it?
February 28, 2015 at 15:08 #766430Nice to see the edit function back. I use that a lot!
Still can’t see a great difference in the font size but it’s not bothering my eyes as much as yesterday. Not sure if I’ve just got used to it, or if it’s actually changed.

Voila.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

You can turn that feature off if you want.
February 28, 2015 at 15:14 #766560Was just answering the gaffer’s question regarding the edit message, it’s not something that was bothering me Matron. Thanks

February 28, 2015 at 15:36 #766665On the subject of edits, and sorry for being a pain………I think that it’s absolutely necessary to show a post has been edited once a reply has been made……….but is it possible if it’s the last post made on the thread, that the edit doesn’t show as it used to work previously. Minor gripe I know, but if you don’t ask you don’t get haha
Brilliant, works a treat on most recent post, though I hope people can’t edit historic posts.
February 28, 2015 at 19:16 #768970Definitely the font size is better now and I like the grey background too. Now just need a preview post option and the various faces back again. Oh, and how to quote a post of course.
