My Mate Alfie sadly lost his life today after running in the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket today and sustaining a suspected back injury. He was taken to hospital in the horse ambulance but they were unable to save him.😪

It was a sad day at Newmarket today losing this little fella. Condolences to all who loved and cared for him.

I’m so sorry to see this. I saw he was eased up quite some way from the finish and Richard Hoiles said he’d been dismounted before the line.

From what I could see, he didn’t look in trouble, but clearly things were worse than they first appeared.

Tudhope got an eight day suspension after being questioned.

That’s awful news. I wonder why he was sold anyway after being such a successful money spinner at The Curragh. Why did Tudhope get the eight days suspension?

Out of character with Tudhope. When Wise Eagle ran in the Ascot Gold Cup he took really good care of him when he realised he wasn’t travelling well (loose shoe and I don’t think he liked the ground either). I guess it’s because of what happened at Aintree.
