Tgis is traditionally one of my bigger betting races of the season, as it’s certainly one of my favourite races too
I’ve taken Ardisia 18-1 ew right now
April 18, 2026 at 13:39 #1764113Just hoping Needle Match is a decent bet at 18/1 WIN.
April 18, 2026 at 13:46 #1764118Zavateri in a double with
Convergent (2.35)
April 18, 2026 at 13:50 #1764121Zavateri looks like a horse that settles and can be held up – an advantage here and no dip to worry about so I’ll take him too to repel the raider in the match
April 18, 2026 at 14:04 #1764124Ian Bartlett almost had me for a second or two: “Albert Einstein is starting to pick up……”
April 18, 2026 at 14:09 #1764127Zavateri would’ve won that with a clear passage.
April 18, 2026 at 14:19 #1764131Zavateri got into a barging match with the much bigger AE and would probably have won (or gone very close) without getting involved in that – the trainer said he would need the run so he would be the one I would take out of the race.
Hopefully this race puts pay to any further thought that AE is a miler – he still pulled too much in behind early on and just kept on without looking like a horse that wants any further than 7F.
For me they need to drop him back to 6F (or even 5F eventually) and potentially let him roll along on the front rather than try to fight him to settle and waste his energies…….it also might just be that he was a very forward mature two year old that hasn’t done as much as his contemporaries from two to three.
April 18, 2026 at 14:34 #1764143Slower time marginally than the Fred Darling incidentally carrying the same weights, similar closing sectionals. Einstein would have dead heated for 4th in the fillies race lol. Interested to hear how they market this one.
