Thanks Gladiateur, I feel better after that
January 6, 2025 at 15:54 #1717635I see your tip, Lulamba, is best priced 12-1 now, Landafar. Any idea why, apart from your tipping record of course?!
January 6, 2025 at 16:48 #1717637My tipping record is **** Oscar, I was lucky to visit seven barrows the day Lulamba arrived and Mr Henderson was very taken with him. So was just a longshot really, given his record in the race. Knowing my AP tipping he will not turn up in the Triumph or get stuffed on Saturday at Kempton (if he runs) and end up in the Boodles.
Ive another trip there Sunday weather permitting..
January 6, 2025 at 17:13 #1717639Well, some people must think you’re not so clueless, since he’s 8s or 10s in most places.
I certainly hope so, since I was also tempted in at 33s! 🤞January 6, 2025 at 17:18 #1717640Well, some people must think you’re not so clueless, since he’s 8s or 10s in most places.
I certainly hope so, since I was also tempted in at 33s! 🤞January 6, 2025 at 17:22 #1717641To be fair, Ed Chamberlin gave him a mention on one of his articles on Sporting Life over Xmas as one to watch.
At the time I saw him, I dont believe he had an owner and is now registered to the O’Donnels, that probably explains the price as it is now.
Lets keep everything crossed for March..
January 18, 2025 at 12:39 #1718276Very smooth debut success for Lulamba there. Looks like there’s a fair bit of improvement in him, too, as he looked a bit burly in the paddock.
Would expect them to try to get another race into him between now and the Triumph.

also I noted the runner up did well considering how head strong he wasGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 19, 2025 at 06:14 #1718370Mondo Man reminded me a little of Goshen.
Nice performance by the winner, I thought he jumped a bit big at times.Palladium has two entries this week, Huntingdon Thursday and Doncaster Friday. Both are all aged Novice hurdles, seems a bit strange when there are juvenile hurdles at Warwick and Wetherby before Friday. Unless its do to with the weight as he will carry 10-9, 13lbs less than the geldings. Im thinking aloud here, would Palladium go for the Supreme? Historically Nicky has run more than one horse in the Triumph when he has had the ammunition. The Triumph on the new course ”allegedly” is better for flat types, but whats bugging me is would the owners of Palladium prefer their stallion winning the Supreme for the stud fees as there is no obvious standout in that race at present and would receive weight from his elders. Unlike my Lulamba pick, I have absolutely no knowledge of the plans.
Sauvignon trained by Paul N was previously declared for Kempton last week and entered for Ascot yesterday but not declared. Probably due to the flu jab that is given this time of year. I expect him to turn up in the Adonis now, and is not to be underestimated. He beat Sony Boy in France, who was third to Hello Neighbour on his first run for Willie.

I see Henderson’s comments ref the Supreme for Lulamba has see market moves, not for me though.
Still puzzled by the hype for Palladium for the Triumph, even more so with the race hes entered Thursday. Less weight, and on a sharpish track, it will be an interesting race.
January 22, 2025 at 23:43 #1718631Palladium race at Huntingdon will be interesting to watch .
Not first classic winner to debut there Moonax in 96 came 2nd first up over sticks .
Not classic winner but Cezanne in 98 made debut there too after flat career winning Irish Champion , then running in BC Classic , Dubai Duty free . I was at evening meeting there in 99 when Cezanne won handicap hurdle . Some career that horse ,I think he ended up with a few spins in point to points.
Hope Palladium wins but seems real odd , German Derby winner prepping for RA in summer over hurdles in mid winter after shelling out 1.4 mill euros . Seems like a mad scientist plan .January 23, 2025 at 06:58 #1718633Looking at Palladium’s form, was he really worth €1.4million?
He was a 23-1 shot when he won the German Derby, and only got up in the last stride to win by a neck. The second hasn’t run since, while the third has finished fifth of six and eighth of eleven in its two subsequent runs.
Palladium himself finished last of six, behind Rebel’s Romance, in his only run after the Derby victory.
I may well be proven wrong, and I hope that I am, for BigG’s sake, but I’m going to say the horse will prove to be a total waste of money.
January 23, 2025 at 07:43 #1718635Seems a bonkers waste of money to me but these people are experts .
25s for Melbourne Cup , win that and it’s good return .January 23, 2025 at 10:28 #1718639Gladiatuer, you echo my thoughts. Got up in the last strides at 23/1, not much form before that and as you said, last of six after. Today will be an informative race, getting weight from ”proper” NH types, hope he doesn’t knocked into when jumping.
There has to be a long term plan, that only the owner knows.January 23, 2025 at 12:54 #1718650Comfortable enough (not sure what the commentator was on about when he said “all out” or similar), but a million miles from Cheltenham form.
Although there’s probably a lot more to come, I was certainly more impressed by the debut of Lulamba.
January 23, 2025 at 12:57 #1718652That was more Hackney Empire than Palladium.
