I did We Have A Dream at 16/1 but had a good bit less on than yourself Ben.
I had been feeling a lot less confident as the race approached and decided to go with Redicean. Normally I might not take 5/1 but I see few solid contenders this year and like Defi Du Seuil last year I can see Redicean answering the doubters.
Hard lines Ben.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 14, 2018 at 11:49 #1346435Ruby on stormy ireland, vautour.
March 14, 2018 at 12:13 #1346437Nice one. She will like it nice and sticky
March 15, 2018 at 20:01 #1346835Apples should be favourite, but 7/4 is silly.
My 100% book for soft:
5/2 Apples Shakiera, 9/2 Stormy Island, 6/1 Mr Adjudicator, 6/1 Farclas, 17/2 Redicean, 15/1 Sussex Ranger, 18/1 Saldier, 66/1 Sayo, 200/1 Gumball.Taken:
6/1 Stormy Island, 9/1 Mr Adjudicator and 22/1 Sussex Ranger with a 15/2 saver on Farclas (combined odds of 5/2 the main bets with 15/2 saver)Value Is EverythingMarch 15, 2018 at 21:15 #1346847Farclas the one for me here. Should enjoy the stamina test, is improving all the time & like the tongue tie going on. Think the form of the Spring Juvenile is smart and he looked 90% fit compared to a hard fit Mr Adjudicator.
Not a big fancy mind, think the race is very hard to weight up as it is a lot of years.
March 15, 2018 at 22:33 #1346869Somewhere between his first and second run I backed Redician at 11/1. Not a bad price at this moment, but I think better ground would be better. I really liked his turn of foot. Reminds me a little bit of Altior. It just seems to take a few seconds and then he is powering away. Had to add a Irish runner too, because they simply seem to fly. The Mullings/Townend combo is working out great and 8/1 EW for the unbeaten Mr Adjudicator seems fair.
Redician 11/1
Mr Adjudicator 8/1 EWMarch 15, 2018 at 22:48 #1346876I think the favourite in this race is an absolutely dreadful price in what looks to be a very competitive field.
Apples shakira has beaten absolutely nothing and didn’t even win her last race very impressively.
Redican looks very good on his last couple of runs
Mr adjudicator has won a grade one and looked every bit as good as anything around and
Farclas was just behind him.
Sayo looked like an absolute tank once he got himself together and realised his job at naas
Sadlier was highly impressive at gowran a few weeks ago
Stormy Ireland won her maiden by 58 lengths!!How on earth apples shakira is currently 6/4 to beat all those I’ll never know
March 16, 2018 at 07:59 #1346959You’re right; crazy price. The lay of the century at those odds. 20 English and 2 Irish horses contested the Fred Winter; 1 Irish horse pulled up, the other won the race. That horse, Veneer Of Charm, ran to roughly the same mark as Nube Negra, when you allow fornweight correction; Nube Negra was 3L behind Shakira previously. Veneer Of Charm is a long way off the best Irish Juveniles; he was 8L behind Mitchouka, who in turn is probably a god 10lbs behind Mr. Adjudicator and Farclas.
Now I know that they are Juvies and are improving all the time but still; 6/4? Bonkers price

On the ground I fancy Stormy Ireland; she beat nobody on her maiden by 58L but it was still 58L on heavy; if anyone should be 6/4 it’s her
March 16, 2018 at 08:07 #1346964Well Shakira will be hard to beat but I recon it’s foreseeable.
I backed Redicean at 25/1 after he won on debut and given those odds I’ve felt I could back another in the race and that money has landed on Stormy Ireland at 6/1. She seems the Mullins Machine’s best hope and really does fall in the category of ‘could be anything’.
But it’s a quality renewal even if it is selective and must take an awful lot of winning.
Maybe there’s a Champion Hurdle winner lurking in the mist?
March 16, 2018 at 09:52 #1346989What makes you think she will be hard to beat? Her form is terrible.
Saldier beat Les Arceaux by 32L on heavy.
Les Arceaux has form with the Fred Winter winner, Veneer of Charm
Veneer of Charm is the same mark as Nube Negra when you correct for weights in the Fred Winter
Nube Negra was 3L behind Shakira…What am I missing here?
I know I’m basing the form line off one Irish Juvenile (Veneer of Charm) who could have improved 20 lbs in 6 weeks

How is Saldier 12/1 and Apples 11/8? It makes no sense..
March 16, 2018 at 13:03 #1347024No value in the fav. Mr Adjudicator seems a fair price. There goes my dart.
March 16, 2018 at 13:24 #1347029The money keeps coming for Apples Shakira and having passed on her at 5/2 I could not be thinking about her at half those odds now.
I did Redicean once I knew my ante-post pick We Have A Dream was going to miss the race and at 7/1 now he surely makes some each way appeal, or you can bet him at 7/2 without the Fav.
AP and JP both made Apples Shakira their Nap of the week and that talk always sends the punters in with their big boots on.
I’d like King to be in better form but I am hopeful and maybe the Fav will find one of the Irish challengers catching her out if Redicean can’t do the business.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 16, 2018 at 13:37 #1347033Fantastic reading of form for some of you guys. Props.
March 16, 2018 at 13:39 #1347035Hopefully Stormy Ireland is fine, not looking good now.
March 16, 2018 at 13:40 #1347036I didn’t have a bet, but just want to say unlucky to Charles + I was willing him to win for you at 25-1.
March 16, 2018 at 13:42 #1347037Redicean punctured quickly after a sticky jump, well thumped.
Irish form yet again proves best.
The ground was quickly used as the excuse for the Rotten Apple, yet beforehand you would have thought it was going to be a procession.
Nice to see the faller up safely to a rousing cheer from the crowd.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 16, 2018 at 13:50 #1347038Two front runners couldn’t let themselves go, otherwise wouldn’t be able to hold them. Slowish pace meant most didn’t settle (including Apples). Two that settled best finished first and second – also perhaps the stoutest stayers and from the two in form yards. I wouldn’t take the form as read.
