Tor Mentor –
If you’re going to spend your days monitoring TRF, and more specifically my posts, looking for spelling errors you’re in for a productive time of it my friend. We’re not big on abiding by the conventions in that regard, rather happily in my view.
December 10, 2009 at 12:04 #263137GC hasn’t been on the site much over the summer, Gerald..probably less than usual for that time of year. He is always the voice of reason whatever the issue and can be relied upon to have an unbiased but totally sensible view in all matters [oh; apart from point to pointing I suppose; sensible, yes, but not exactly unbiased!]. And he told me to watch out for Snoopy Loopy last season . However, people such as yourself have given me more confidence to talk about my grand passion of racing on a daily basis. I no longer have to get a waiting room full of poorly people and lecture tham about who’s running in the 2.15 at Carlisle!
December 10, 2009 at 12:15 #263138There is a perverse pleasure
in following these sort of competitions.Last year Drone you were the dark horse
you could have been anything
You only picked up one vote
I thought you’d bounce back and had
the essential qualities
to win this. Had there been a market I would
have frittered possibly.I always look for improvers
and not thinking Glenn could improve
on his large V sign to the trilaterals
it was even larger and bolder this year,
even throwing them into a filling vomitarium,
possibly bouncing off a good year in the exchanges
which must increase energies.I was impressed by Fist’s contagious diary
another improver in my book, however
his atronomical bets were possibly
appreciated more by the devil and other
horned guests at the hot table who
may affect his dreams but cannot vote.Looking at the the list
I got it wrong last year
and wasn’t corrected.2003 – Ian Davies
2004 – Head to head Cormack beats Davies
2005 – after Davies had his lower legs removed
there was no desire for a competition.
Razeen held an unofficial one with
a good selection of heavies in the laughter
lounge.
A new entrant and the first filly
Diane Avis ran away with it
in a green dressColumn I see you have strated to march
but beware the ides
as history is not on your side
and I remember a long lost quote from the 2004
winner.(from memory and post 2005 )
" If the man in black wins it again
we’ll have to cancel the competishion. "December 10, 2009 at 14:00 #263163Cormack beats Davies
Oh…if only

December 10, 2009 at 14:55 #263187This is a bit before my time, but I’m rather bemused as to how GC won this for two years running, when all he seems to write about is horses that no one has heard of, ridden by jockeys no one has heard of, at tracks no one has heard of, or about songs no one has heard of, by artists that no one has heard of.

But apart from that you’re enjoying the play, Mrs Lincoln?

What Moe says, basically. I was expecting more free time to post here, blog elsewhere, etc. over the summer, but experienced the exact opposite. Busy is nice, but impinges on TRF involvement a little. Ah well!

December 10, 2009 at 15:55 #263209Cormack are you challenging
the accuracy of the list
Please correct it
or admit to a bad memoryThere is little point
in arranging these sweaty man races
if no one is bothered to adhere
to the listI am still troubled over the
exact year that Dr Frankenstien Grassh
received his title ?The doctor’s later fiendish contraption
– the incredilble hopping horse –
fashioned out of real muscle
and modelled on Arkle is a creation
that defies nature itself and some are
suggesting he be stripped and horsewhipped
at the entrance of Asscot. As to you and Davies being shackled and
loin clothed together on a cold-shouldered
meat rack to slowly file down your differences,
it is certainly within your power to
invite him here.Xmas Ghost week – when the dead
receive their weakly pass to spit ‘n shake
their heavy chains whilst once more spouting
in defiant ribaldry against those
that unjustly cast them down
to a post free eternity of gloom ‘n silence –
seems the perfect opportunity.
You could dress up as Santa
and surprise tha man in black
with a present –
a quick left hook.If he comes as Diane
you could remove your beard
and invite him to a dinner of steaksDecember 10, 2009 at 19:42 #263261
Tor with the size of him
fattened up in Wagamama
n’ all smiles
when he didn’t tip,
his new interest
Basingstoke Town
could use him in goal
rather than three seats
on the board.Mac if you could recount
the year you won,
and spare all the detail;
I know LRM worked late you with
on some of the competitions
but it’s the meat of the contest
I’m after.
How was it when Davies drew up
alongside and bared his teeth ?
The feeling as your neck
stretched away from him ?
The elation when…Drone apologies my previous post
I did you a slight misjustice
I meant to include you in the improvers
alongside Glenn and Fist
and felt this could be your year. You are neck’n neck with Glenn
Speed forward gentlemen
the column is behindDecember 10, 2009 at 21:24 #263281Time is slightly short
I have overwritten today
and have enjoyed the splash. My predictions
total votes… 74 (there’s a recession)
winner votes… 15 ( it’s tight )LRM if you do look in
hope all goes well
in you and your son’s world.
I wish you both a Happy Xmas.
Daylight’s legacy here
is a board of interest
run on the strict terms he,
Craig, set out.
Obviously if we could go back
in time we would, but that is
not possible.
This board remains a testament
to the family that built it.December 11, 2009 at 06:40 #263316LRM if you do look in

December 15, 2009 at 17:29 #263982Suddenly a stampede of votes
with three heroes in the last hour
to bring the Argo two short of capacity 50Has Jason let clones aboard ?
a split personality ?
a serendipity ?December 15, 2009 at 19:25 #263999Eloquently put Mr Flatcap.
December 18, 2009 at 16:44 #264391Sorry for the three day gap Andrew
but I have been so engrossed in your blog
finding its vague landscape
so inviting of thought I lost myself completely
in a sort of who are you time warp. There are three great questions to ponder.
Has the lost decade booted Glenn up to ten ?
Is Drone’s absence a clever ploy
and is he planning to Scrooge a win ?Has J ST. JIM deserted the confessional
and by cover of darkness secretly voted
to make his idol Bob Rolf
part of the holy trinity ?December 20, 2009 at 11:41 #264646I suppose that rather
complicated bunch the
tactical voters are
whetting their lips
at the prospect
of a big nose finish. It has been a poor turnout this
year so far, but snow covers
a lot of the counties.
Forums are attacked
of late by two new weather fronts
the twits and twats.Full credit to all
the blogger energy men.
Most blogs are in disrepair
and to single out Andrew’s
whitewashed walls
is a tad unfair.
Let’s hope Tooting’s trading
saves his escape from suburbia
but week on week of blank silence
rather points away from green
to the grey suit
in his bedroom cupboard. We are expecting a low
turnout of clones this year.Nothing much is certain.
The fog of uncertainty
casts a bleak shadow over
the roof of the igloo,
the only certainty in life,
now freshly powdered with light snow. Two certainties
The old heavyweights are once more in demand
and Marble hasn’t voted for himself
December 21, 2009 at 01:10 #264738My Lounge vote would be for Gamble. But this is not just a Lizard poll.
December 22, 2009 at 00:27 #264874Tor, seasons greetings
No lizard has won this
nor ever will.Graysons Express
and riding alongside
a bareback Dennis Hopper
have both impressed today
proving how solid form
and long hair
still wow the votersThe tacticals
are sleeping early tonight
ready for tomorrow. - AuthorPosts
