Thanks Graham I was at the bottom for sometime and resigned to coming last but suddenly the points are creeping up a bit more
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 18, 2020 at 21:19 #1483257I’ve been in Fred all since Xmas Triptych, so might well be taking your place before long !! 🤩
February 18, 2020 at 21:19 #1483258Fred ?? Typed ‘freefall’ !!
February 19, 2020 at 02:06 #1483268If you’re in freefall Inthestream, I’ve already plummeted to earth
Time enough yet for things to turnaround, or at least that’s what
I keep telling myself
Week 11 Update
Get the bunting out, party poppers at the ready, and strike up the band
A week to remember for Jack H as he leaves the whole League trailing in
his wake with a magestic 1.3 points for Darasso’s 2nd place in the Grade 3
Red Mills. Way to go Jack
The rest of us can stand in the corner facing the wall with out pointy hats
on…..they actually used to do that in the “good old days”
A few hearts broken with Cyrname hitting the deck at the last in the Betfair
Ascot Chase on Saturday. I can assure you they weren’t any more heart broken
than me, as I had a rush of blood to the head and stuck 20 quid on Traffic
Fluide, who also came down at the last at 80/1when to my eyes looking the likely
winner. He’s been a favourite of mine for a few years and if he hadn’t had his
constant injury problems over the years I’m convinced he would have won one of
the big ones at the festival. I had a whopping big odds bet on him for the QMCC
3 years back and barring making a hash at the last he would have finished a lot
closer than the 7L he was beaten. Anyway, the most important thing is that with
great relief they both rose to their feet and I think they are non the worse for
the fall, if a bit bruised. So Here’s the League as it stands this week, same as it ever was, same as it ever was,
same as it ever was…….barring Jack

As you would expect, things are a bit quiet before the Festival with the big guns
wrapped in cotton wool in their stables. Even so, a couple of slight moves in the
league. X-Factors had Bellshill, who gave a good acccount of himself in the Bobbyjo
Chase, although not quite good enough to haul in the impressive Acapella Bourgeois.
So not a major move, but 1.8 points could be important further down the line. Well
done
One more change, and it’s for Barrow Raiders who must feel a bit disappointed that
the promising Andy Dufrene could only manage 3rd at Naas. To be fair to him he did
have quite a hard race and battled on well to beat Captain Guinness in the Moscow
Flyer Novice Hurdle at Punchestown last month, that might just have left it’s mark.
I’m not quite sure where he will be heading next, but I’d expect him to get back to
winning ways after being freshened up.So that’s it for this week, no change of positions in the league. I wouldn’t expect
much difference either next week, but with the Festival only 2 weeks away there will
no doubt be serious movement then. All the best, and get the midnight oil burning with
that studying for a great 4 days racing

79.4February 29, 2020 at 21:54 #1484301Don’t forget that the transfer window opens this week … I think. Not sure what the rules are but it’s usually advisable to wait till as late as possible (but allowing for potential website gremlins ..!!).
March 1, 2020 at 08:58 #1484321Top man Inthestream

I’ll hold my hands up here, I wasn’t aware there was a transfer window, it’s certainly not
well advertised
There is mention of it way down in the terms and conditions, here is a copy……….
16. You will have the opportunity to make online substitutions during a transfer window, which will open at 8 am on Monday 2 March 2020 and closes at 5 pm on Monday 9 March 2020. A maximum of two (2) substitutions per Stable will be permitted. We reserve the right to make available for substitution horses not featured on the original list, but who have emerged as significant contenders for big races later in the competition.
You would have thought they would highlight something like that on the opening page, or express
something as important as that on the opening page of the site, and at least have something
like “transfer window opens 2nd March” highlighted.Anyway, many thanks Inthestream for highlighting this, I’m normally a stickler for rules but
this site is (IMO) poorly put together and not the most user friendly. I’ll do my weekly update
a little later, I would doubt if there will be much in the way movement.I hope everyone checks in so that they are aware of the window, best of luck
March 1, 2020 at 09:15 #1484322Week 13 Update
Did a quick check after posting above, and it is as I expected, there are no
points picked up and therefore the League stays the same as last week. Next
week liable to be much the same (same as it ever was…..I suppose only a few
Talking Heads fans would have got that reference in week 11 update
)
I’ll post the league anyway just so nobody has to scroll up to see where we
all are. It hardly feels like a year, but the festival is nearly upon us again.
Best of luck all

79.4March 1, 2020 at 09:20 #1484323Seeing as we are on a new page now, Inthestream highlighted that the transfer
window opens on 2nd March. Check back on page 5 for details about that.
All the best
March 1, 2020 at 09:30 #1484327I was going to ask about transfers, BigG
All I need to do now is remember my password..

March 1, 2020 at 09:55 #1484329How will the “transfer window” work?
The transfer window will operate in the lead up to the Cheltenham Festival, opening at 9am on Monday 2 March and closing at 5pm on Monday 9 March. Customers will be allowed to swap up to two horses from their list. There will be no option to buy further changes. This is to give people the chance to replace horses who may be out for the season, or simply to freshen up your list for the big spring Festivals.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.March 1, 2020 at 10:12 #1484331I was wondering if there would be a chance to swap out a couple of horses but as BigG said it was well hidden away.
Perhaps the options will appear on the main page from tomorrow.
Anyway big thanks to inthestream for the heads up and to Graham for keeping us all in order over the past months.
Best of luck to all..not long now.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 1, 2020 at 15:23 #1484354I’m glad that most seem to be aware of this now, I hope that those that haven’t
posted have at least noticed the update, or maybe they were aware anyway. I know
what you mean Nathan, I sometimes sit with a blank stare on my face trying to
remember a password, I’m glad that I clicked on the “remember password” for this
one. Thanks Neil for the reminder of the transfer window rules, and there is a thread in
the Cheltenham 2020 Forum dedicated to listing horses either injured or not heading
to Cheltenham if anyone needs to check.Cheers Jac, and you’re right it’s not the easiest of sites to navigate. A lot to look
forward to with the festivals here and at Meydan. What a great month it will be
March 9, 2020 at 09:22 #1485034A reminder that today is the deadline for using your 2 transfers. It really is the world’s worst website so allow yourself plenty of time!
March 9, 2020 at 16:59 #1485073Thanks for puting that in Tonge, there is so much going on that I nearly missed it. I
couldn’t agree more, the person who put that site together has masochistic tendancies
I hope everyone else got the message
As to be expected there was no movement whatsoever in the league this week, everything
of any note was being kept under covers for the festival. It’s make or break time, so
very best of luck all, and hopefully your wallet/purse is bulging by the end of play
on Friday

79.4March 23, 2020 at 14:20 #1486722Apologies again for lateness posting what is the final day of competition.
It’s not what anyone was looking for, but these are very troubled times and
we have to adapt and most importantly stay safe.We have our winner, and it’s very well done to Wakashandy who has been up there
for some time and coasts home with a very impressive 402.9 points. Very well
done, it’s quite a feat to plot out a winning stable for the season and you
achieved that handsomely, big congratulations

A great showing too by Inthestream, who led the league for a good while before
Waka burst through. A great showing Inthestream
Final podium place goes to Jack H, who was closing in on the top two but unfortunately
the enforced closure of the competition scuppered your chances of a late run. Nonetheless
it was a first class performance and a great score. very well done sir
Many thanks to all that took part in the competition, and myslef (Firstfencefallers) and
Barrow Raiders battled it out for the wooden spoon, and thankfully I won that one
Hopefully they run this again next year, if any of us are left standing after this cursed
virus, and we can get a full run at it. I think they need to completely scrap their site
format and come back with a completely new user friendly one. Finally apologies again for posting this a week later than I should, I’ve been completely
thrown out by all the life changes this coronavirus has brought about. Horseracing is
wonderful and I’ll miss it greatly, I’d imagine it’s only time before Ireland halts also,
but way more important than that is all staying safe and taking care of our families. God
bless all, I hope we all come through this and if it’s possible for anything good to come
out of this, we hopefully will be a tighter and more thoughtful community. That’s what life
should be like. All the best to you all, your families and friends
