He stays ….make your own pace …like native river does , can only ride him one way , I think he,ll struggle to get in first 3 this year , he,s a sim type to minella Rocco , he had exactly the same problem

He will improve back at Cheltenham I think as he has shown before. He is a bit of a marmite horse I agree but your being too dismissive in my opinion. LIT has questions to answer after the Betfair flop admittedly on heavy ground, and Al Boum Photo aint run yet. The other Irish horses we wont know what they’ve got until Xmas. Champ needs to jump better. Based on that to say at this stage he wont be in the top 3 not sure how you could know. More racing needs to happen to establish some sort of rational pecking order.
I don’t think the Gold Cup was run to suit and yet he finished close enough beaten a neck to the 2 time Gold Cup winner. So if they run the race at the same tempo he is still bang there on last years form. If they up the tempo and go harder sooner than he should improve for that. He should or at least have the potential to improve for having another years racing as he is lightly raced 11 runs in race rules.
I’m not saying he will win the Gold Cup and he does have flaws in being lazy and he does lack that bit of tactical pace and all horses have strengths and weaknesses and for me Cheltenham is his strength
and he’s leagues above Minella Rocco, that horse pulled up more times than Michael Owen…
