“The bookmakers should open a market on “What Excuse Henderson Uses For Not Running Shishkin At Kempton.””
Wrong type of leaves on the gallops 4/6
November 25, 2021 at 18:40 #1569041what a joke, he’s at it again. Hendo have you lost the plot.
November 25, 2021 at 20:36 #1569056Personally I’m only really interested in betting terms for Cheltenham so am delighted Henderson thinks this way.
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 25, 2021 at 20:47 #1569058Bigger picture nath, its not a good look for the NH programme that one of the biggest grade 1’s of the season is treated with disdain in comparison to a spring festival of the same merit
November 26, 2021 at 21:44 #1569236Its all about one day in March……..

November 26, 2021 at 21:47 #1569237Watched “Road to Cheltenham” earlier. Lydia Hislop began by asking Ruby Walsh how he was and he said something like he was not sparkling and they both laughed. Even the racing media is starting to take the p*ss out of Henderson now.
November 26, 2021 at 22:02 #1569242Lydia has far from forgotten all the “Its Heavy, no, its Heavy” from Henderson.

November 27, 2021 at 06:18 #1569293Henderson was on a podcast yesterday and said after not sparkling in a gallop Shishkin scoped dirty. The racing media didn’t bother to mention the latter or Henderson didn’t mention it when the news came out. Which was unfortunate.
Perfectly reasonable not to run in a Tingle Creek and to wait if he scoped dirty. Case closed.
November 27, 2021 at 09:01 #1569314“Shishkin scoped dirty. ”
Yep fair enough then.
November 27, 2021 at 09:21 #1569318For those interested there was a pretty animated exchange between lydia and Henderson in the paddock yesterday
Us rubbernecks couldn’t hear anything but the body language was pretty telling
All.good fun and in fairness theres nothing wrong in a Frank exchange of views rather than the usual bitching we ao often see
November 27, 2021 at 09:46 #1569321They should just do away with the Grade 2 races in open company like the Desert Orchid. I can’t see what purpose they serve over the jumps where the pattern element to the programme is far less important than on the flat where it has breeding implications with black type etc…. Graded handicaps and Grade 1 races only then they can’t pussyfoot around in mickey mouse races. Make the Desert Orchid chase a limited handicap like the Old Roan and Haldon Gold Cup are and then you might get some sort of decent opposition. Why would anything want to take Shishkin on off level weights in a Grade 2? It will be a 3 runner affair and a basically a racecourse gallop for the horse. None of this is Nicky’s fault by the way but take away the soft options and then he has no alternative.
November 27, 2021 at 10:25 #1569342Sorry but it has reached the point where I would not believe Henderson if I saw him on Monday and he told me tomorrow is Tuesday.
If the horse “scoped dirty”, why not just say so? It looks like a way of shutting down criticism. How can we possibly know it is true or not?

November 27, 2021 at 13:09 #1569387He is full of shite. One minute Shishkin has “nothing wrong” with him, just isn’t “sparking like we want”. After that is (rightly) criticised, all of a sudden the horse scoped dirty. Yeah righto Nicky.
Bollocks. He wants to face a couple of also-rans at Kempton in a waste of time near-walkover, not race proper Grade 1 competitors at Sandown. Its as simple as that, and a depressing attitude for racing fans.

November 27, 2021 at 16:03 #1569441Another fairly quiet Saturday for Henderson , considering the amount of good ground still about you think he,d be making hay
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 27, 2021 at 16:05 #1569442The Tatling I remember reading about Dunwoody getting done for speeding traveling from a afternoon meeting to a night meeting to jock a lad off a walkover in the first , that would be a wet dream to Hendo

November 27, 2021 at 16:17 #1569446The funny thing is, the Kempton race might not be that easy. Nube Negra will be heading there, race fit after winning at Cheltenham.
I really like Shishkin and believe he could be genuinely top class but I doubt it will be a walk in the park for him at Kempton if that is what Henderson is thinking.
