Shiskin out! “horse not quite right” according to NH.
Race is over two weeks away. Surely more to it than that?
November 24, 2021 at 12:53 #1568832Apologies 10 days away
November 24, 2021 at 13:37 #1568837“Surely more to it than that?”
Yes there was a rumour that another graded horse might turn up, perhaps even more than one. Some of the entries were over 150 rated or so I heard. It would be absolutely crazy running Shishkin against them at this early stage of the season, there are 14 whole weeks between this race and Cheltenham- that’s nearly a year.
November 24, 2021 at 14:00 #1568840I didn’t dare suggest anything along those lines Green. But now you come to mention it…
November 24, 2021 at 14:53 #1568844Henderson is tedious. Shiskin is predictably the new lesser-spotted Altior.

November 24, 2021 at 15:45 #1568852Disappointed, but not a surprise. I’m not sure what the answer is. If there is a genuine issue, then fine – but it appears to be history repeating.
“Win and you’re in” is unlikely to be possible, there’d be uproar. But I do think they have to look at making horses qualify in some way.
November 24, 2021 at 16:45 #1568856So all willie had to do to win the tingle creek was mention running CPS or energumene, will probably send easy game over now lol
November 24, 2021 at 17:36 #1568860Just performing the old Altiour routine.

November 24, 2021 at 18:16 #1568864I’m currently down ” Twitching ” in a area near hungerford called Seven barrows , I’m on the lookout for a ” Grade 1 ” a rare sight in this parts , they come in two varieties, the ” hurdler ” and ” the chaser ” , both rarely come out of the homestead , the so called ” stable ” and when they do they tend to stick a foot in the ground , say ” **** that ” , they’ll cover themselves in coats and bandages and then return to hibernate in the stable until February , both draw lines back to ” Nicholasum Hendersarseholeum ” , a small fat balding species , this species while timid when cornered will start to pout , flap it’s ” arms ” and screech in a high pitched tone until the attacker or ” presenter ” backs of , at this point said animal will run for the
” weighing room. ” in search of food or a ” whiskey and water ” , all quiet at the moment but I’ll keep you all updated if any movement takes placePick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 24, 2021 at 18:39 #1568867Its disgusting the BHA don’t have a Grade 1 only for Henderson trained horses. This competetive racing before March malarkey is seemingly old hat.

November 24, 2021 at 18:41 #1568869Does seem a bit odd to have made the decision this soon and not waited until this time next week for the ‘spark’ to maybe return. Disappointing for the race.
November 24, 2021 at 18:42 #1568870Nicky will do what’s best for his horse
His Champion Chase record speaks for itself
Is a shame though but not the most surprising newsGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 24, 2021 at 18:46 #1568872IMO Hendersons obsession with gaining headlines for himself in March has become toxic for the sport of Jumps Racing.
If you were in a position to make a decision, would you take the decision to pay a vast sum to sponsor a race like the Tingle Creek? With high profile people like Henderson basically admitting they couldn’t care less about the race?

November 24, 2021 at 18:47 #1568873If he keeps this up in a few years time his grade 1 horses will be running at the festival first time out …..
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 24, 2021 at 18:54 #1568875He’s probably still got the Altior/Cyrname race in his thought process. Can I suggest he don’t want to go to war with a Mullins horse first time and, in his mind, ruin his season?
If it ultimately helps him win the Champion Chase, then fine by me. ;o)
November 24, 2021 at 19:03 #1568876It’s funny to think that it used to be Flat racing that was criticised for the big names not taking each other on in case a loss affected future stud fees.
