And let’s not forget that the National is not about just one horse. No special treatment for any of the runners. Why does he have to win it three times? He won at the Festival numerous times plus two GNs, why even bother? As long as they get round safely, everything is fine.
February 21, 2021 at 14:55 #1524019Never ran that badly in this race. Although he looked very fit according to Ruby. Was this his final race?
February 21, 2021 at 14:57 #1524020If he is ‘gone’ (that race inconclusive), do y’all think Gigginstown will continue their ruthless streak and look to sell him at the HIT sales?
February 21, 2021 at 14:58 #1524021It was a bit disappointing the way he dropped away so tamely after travelling well. I think they will still go to Cheltenham but trying to win a National off such a big weight might not appeal.
February 21, 2021 at 15:00 #1524023I doubt it , he was pulling hard early in the race which wouldn’t have helped , while he may have looked well I’m sure Elliot will have left some work on him

February 21, 2021 at 15:04 #1524026He’ll run (and probably win !) over banks at both Cheltenham and Punchestown. THe national was always a red herring to give newspapers something to print and to give pundits something to get mad about.
February 21, 2021 at 17:27 #1524072Would hesitate to write him off. Fitness was what beat him (or beat him so badly) today I’d say and this was not the target by any means. More to come for sure.
I just hope he remains safe.February 21, 2021 at 18:58 #1524081The race was run in ten seconds slower time than the Novice Hurdle.
They have walked round then raced for half a mile, at which point a horse who wants 4m plus nowadays was comprehensively outpaced – he would have had about as much chance in the Nunthorpe.
I wouldn’t read too much into it either way – he’s had a racecourse schooling gallop – well, canter then gallop.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 21, 2021 at 19:07 #1524083You’re all kidding yourselves. The horse didn’t last more than one and a half miles at pedestrian speed. He will be pulled up in the X-Country, that’s my prediction.
His best days are beyond him and the reason why he is in training, is that small chance of becoming a triple GN winner. He won a Triumph seven years ago, a NH Chase four years ago, a X-Country (and was 2nd in it last year) and two Grand Nationals. He is not going to match those performances again, if you consider how much his form is deteriorating.
I bet connections are more concerned than the most here on this forum.
February 21, 2021 at 19:18 #1524087Ex I don’t believe he,ll win the GN ( I don’t think many on here do ) but you have to take today’s run with a pinch of salt , it’s 2 months to the GN so they,ll have left something to work on fitness wise , he pulled hard early as well , how many of the GN field would have been able to perform in such a race , he,s a freak like rummy in that they have both speed and the ability to stay it,s just with age and the hard races he,s had there now taking there toll …..I’d have loved like VTC to have seen him in a GC
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 21, 2021 at 19:33 #1524089I don’t mind seeing him run in the GN, but he has to be fully fit and connections should stop looking for excuses pre-race. If he were to finish 5th, 6th or so that would still be an outstanding effort. But to see him pull up with a circuit to go, would be rather unsatisfactory. Let’s see what connections tell us in the next 1-2 weeks.
February 21, 2021 at 21:34 #1524108Today’s going was heavy which I don’t think he cares for (his first National was officially heavy but I think it was really more Irish soft). Plus he was eased to a canter and allowed to gently pop the last today.
February 21, 2021 at 23:53 #1524260If Tiger is going for National then needs to runs in a chase not hurdle race this season. Personally I think his best is behind him.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.February 22, 2021 at 00:28 #1524317The roll as a horse of history has a fine memory of the past adulation he received at Aintree past. This fact alone may enable him to release a Mr Snugfit performance come the big day.
If he is fully fit and proven he could well release an ‘on a roll’🐢… He’s a dedicated follower of serious posters
February 22, 2021 at 09:54 #1524329Thinking about it some more, I agree that he is probably finished. Remember the 2019 Boyne Hurdle where a tubby Tiger Roll went off 25/1 (BSP 60) and won the Boyne Hurdle pretty much on the bridle. He was nowhere near that level yesterday.
March 2, 2021 at 11:46 #1526527Withdrawn due to unfair weight. What a bunch of professional losers……
Time for Gigginstown to stay in Ireland.
March 2, 2021 at 11:51 #1526532Given the current circumstances, it might be for the best.
