Fully agree with you, Clive.
No one has treated such a unique horse with more disrespect than the O’Learys.
The reasons for the fallout with Mullins could have been quite a few. Maybe the Riccis were too powerful at that time, maybe they could accept Ruby’s opinions, who knows?
April 27, 2021 at 23:18 #1538263The fav in the banks race today did do a cartwheel poor bugger. Tiger Roll has never raced over the Punchestown banks and now is not the time to start. Think he’s getting his bucket and spade for summer holidays, good decision.
March 16, 2022 at 11:38 #1587498Hopefully he can go out with a bang today. Looks a tougher race than last year, but I hope he can do it.
The sideshow has obviously been a bit of a distraction, but that aside, he’s been some horse.
March 16, 2022 at 13:48 #1587571Bobby one thing for sure Elliott will have him cherry ripe , my e.w bet is Brahma Bull but I’ll gladly shout him home
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 16, 2022 at 16:24 #1587717Well, with Tiger Roll is only a length behind 160-rated Delta Work (horse on X-Country debut), his handicap rating of 161 seems to be reasonably valid, Mr O’Leary.
March 16, 2022 at 19:20 #1587830Well done to Steve Mellish on RTV, strongly criticising O’Leary for his remarks about the handicapper over the years. When in fact, as QF says, the handicapper’s assessment of Tiger Roll was absolutely spot on.
March 16, 2022 at 19:23 #1587831I bet O’Leary does not admit to this.
March 16, 2022 at 19:31 #1587833Fond farewell to a magnificent racehorse. His achievements in National Hunt racing will go down in history. Almost, but not quite, the perfect fairytale ending today (boo, hiss Jack Kennedy!)
Happy retirement Tiger Roll.
March 16, 2022 at 20:02 #1587859CAS I hope the handicappers aren’t unduely hard on O’Leary horses in the future ….
