I’m not condoning or agreeing with what he did but in the eyes of the law what has he done wrong?

The more I know the less I understand.

“Looked more like John McCririck to me.”

The world is getting crazier and people feel offended far too much.

I think it’s both extremes taking a Jürgen Klinsmann dive about things we wouldn’t even discuss 20-25 years ago.

Is that relevant? The BHA is responsible for what sort of conduct it considers acceptable on the racecourse, not the government, the CPS or the police. It has decided Osborne’s conduct was unacceptable.

I don’t know whether or not Osborne’s offence would be covered by this legislation but whenever I am travelling by train, I often see notices warning against upskirting, catcalling and even staring.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/protection-from-sex-based-harassment-in-public-act-2023/protection-from-sex-based-harassment-in-public-act-2023-statutory-guidance-for-the-police-accessible

The only point I will make is the BHA has taken a stand on Osborne behaving in a silly and immature manner but daren’t take a stand about British racing being as good as owned by a man who threatened his wife with violence and had his own daughter abducted.

It isn’t about whether or not it’s breaking the law. It’s about respect. Or lack of it….

Luke Harvey lurking in the Ascot car park pointed out trainers’ cars jockeying for the best positions. Jamie got a mention. No runners there today of course. Perhaps the maestro thinks he’ll be celebrating Ten of Clubs romping home at Wolverhampton at 40/1.

There’s a world of difference between incidentally being in the background of photographs or video and someone going around (apparently, I suppose it could have been a full length shot) specifically focusing on someone’s backside to share it with their creepy mates.

If you ask me I think the lack of consent is part of what motivates people like that. If you simply want to look at ‘great bums’ then there are plenty of women out there who will willingly provide such content.
