Have to agree Nathan. Over the longer distances at the Crucible there is just no-one to stop him but I had to take 3-1 with Bet365.
He really is looking totally unbeatable with the Crucible just around the corner. He’s now hammered Selby and Ding in his last 2 finals and could be odds on by the start of the Worlds.
March 2, 2014 at 22:51 #469757I’ve been including him in a lot of Cheltenham multiples but might leave it now he’s below 2/1 and just blast him in singles. I’ve never been so confident about an outcome and the way he is playing I will be shocked and devastated if he doesn’t win the Worlds. My Dad doesn’t bet and I even talked him into parting with a tenner.

March 2, 2014 at 23:34 #46976320/1 for Sports Personality of the Year. He would probably have to win each match without losing a frame but in his form that’s a possible……

March 9, 2014 at 13:08 #470534Selby at 13/2 and Maguire at 18/1 my bets in haikou event this week any thoughts Nathan
March 9, 2014 at 15:07 #470542I’ve not had a bet Darren but Trump has been showing glimpses of getting back in the groove and it will be interesting to see if he can get it back to put in a challenge to O’Sullivan in the Worlds.

March 12, 2014 at 16:18 #471230Trump beat Stevens but is woefully inconsistent, shouldn’t think O’Sullivan would lose any sleep…..

April 6, 2014 at 14:37 #474820Ding has just won his 5th tourney of the season and has matured a hell of a lot as player and looks more composed then ever. The way the draw has worked out if the best players progress he is due to meet Ronnie in the Semi Final of the World’s and that should make blockbuster viewing. I can tell you now though that Ronnie wins.

April 11, 2014 at 10:24 #475213I used to play against Martin Gould and couldn’t get near to winning a frame against him even with an 80 start !! I was never going to be a pro but would regularly compile breaks of 30-40. These guys are a different breed, making it look so easy.
I agree that O’Sullivan looks the likely winner, I’m trying to look for a bit of a "springer" in the other half of the draw.
April 11, 2014 at 11:27 #475219When is Gould taking in the darts Trendy?
I’ve played a couple of frames against the best amateur player in Taunton and I hear he compiled a 102 break the other week. He even beat Steve Davis in the 80’s in a best of 3….

April 11, 2014 at 11:59 #475223Martin Gould
English Amateur Champion 2002 + 2007
Players Tour Championship Finals 2011 – Runner Up
Matchroom Championship League 2013 Winner, beat Alister Carter
Matchroom Championship League 2014 Runner Up, lost to Judd TrumpMartin beat Ronnie O’Sullivan
in the final of the 2011 Power Snooker Championship.
He made the 2nd round of the 2010 World Championships leading 12-10 at one point but was beaten 13-12 by Neil Robertson (eventual winner).
He made the top 16 rankings in 2011.A very talented player who is capable of winning the World Championships but to do so will need to have the right mind set. Martin is a bit like Kevin Pietersen is to cricket, a tremndous talent.
He is currently 7-1 up (best of 19) against Mitchell Davis today to go through to Round 3 of the qualifiers and is likely to face Gerard Greene who is currently up on Igor Figueirido. The winner then faces Liang Wenbo with the winner of that match going through to the finals.
Come on Gouldie !!
April 11, 2014 at 12:12 #475225132 break for Martin to take him to 8-1, just one more to go through.
That follows his 113 in the previous frame.
106 in frame 5.April 11, 2014 at 12:17 #475226Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon beat Sanderson Lam 10-8
Century breaks…
Thanawat 128 121 117
Sanderson 116 107That must have been a good game to watch.
Thanawat got knocked out in the 2nd Round.
April 11, 2014 at 17:05 #475243It will be tough if facing Greene and Wenbo both very good in their own right but I’d like to see Gould make it through.

April 11, 2014 at 18:06 #475253As I mentioned above if he gets his mind set right then he is capable of being right up there with the best, he’s a jolly potter and can match it with the best but if he gets knocked out of his rhythm then he struggles.
Currently best priced with Ladbrokes at 300/1 to win the World Championships but I think that’s a bridge too far, if the bookies offered places for the first 4 rather than just the finalists then I might have a nibble. If he gets through to meet Wenbo and beats him then his confidence will be sky high.
April 11, 2014 at 18:40 #475256Poor old Steve Davis fell off the pro tour by losing in the World Championship qualifiers yesterday. I watched the Coral Live Stream and it was pretty sad viewing – he could barely put a 20 break together.
April 11, 2014 at 19:12 #475260End of an era, he changed the face of snooker and regardless of whether you like him or not he’s been one of the greats.
Another aging player is struggling as well and that’s Jimmy White. he currently trails Ian Burns 8-3.
Martin Gould won his match 10-1 and faces either Gerard Greene or Igor Figueiredo in the next match. That match is currently 6-5 to Greene.
