I must admit I was not convinced by the pre-race hype concerning Scenic Blast.
However when I saw him "in the flesh" before the race I quickly changed my mind he looked very impressive, fantastic condition and well toned, the best sprinter I have seen in a long time – even the way he walked out of the parade ring has something about it – almost a confident swagger.
My only regret is I did not have time to get some money on him before the off.
Was quite the ride from the Aussie jockey, was really impressed by him and the horse and Fleeting Spirit was a very game runner up.
Surprised how bad Amour Propre ran he probably posted the same time as his effort last year which was on soft ground, I guess they overrated the fact they thought they could hold him up and he couldn’t quicken. He ran too bad to be true and even got beat by Wi Dud.
