I’m jumping back in the PP with Our Vic at 40/1, a
on this particular old tank. Johnsons comments were positive, and if he could place i’d be over the moon. He will be off top weight, but he’s used to big weights and his jockey will be claiming 3 pounds. I remember ages ago when i couldn’t tell my arse from my elbow with regards to racing, someone said Our Vic could run a nice race against Kauto. So i shoved on a small bet and he clawed back Kauto and done him on the line at Aintree. He’s competed against a lot better than these pretenders. This one’s for the old skool.
November 12, 2009 at 22:22 #258431I will be interested to see how Consigliere runs at Cheltenham tomorrow. He’s 13/2 at the moment, but if we get some of this rain that’s been talked about, then i can see it getting kicked in shorter. Fingers crossed.
November 13, 2009 at 15:10 #258503He came third. Ground wasn’t as soft as i was hoping, but there you go. French Opera was the deserved winner.
Right, i ain’t gonnae lie. I’ve went in large for Fununalter in the 850 at Wolves. He’s currently 11/4, and Moore is on board. He was very dissapointing LTO, but i’m hoping the return to a flat aw surface can do the trick. I’m a bit nervous.
November 13, 2009 at 16:40 #258523My head is a bit pickled with all these Cheltenham possibilities. I done well last year without ante posts, so i don’t know why i’m ante posting for it this season.
Its a mans Game Graeme, you only need to look what happened to poor old Fist this flat season! He literally imploded into a 1,000,000 pieces!!
November 13, 2009 at 16:52 #258524
There’s a very fine line between a man and a mug, my friend.
Will we see you again if Ballyfitz gets home first tomorrow ? It’s smashed into favouritism ! You’ll be lucky to get 3s.

Very true Graeme, its the same fine line that seperates Fist and myself!!To be honest i am surprised
Ballyfitz
is fav
for tomorrows big race, but if the real one turns up,he will test all!He is 9yo now so all that zesty novicey behaviour should be gone, but he is a 3 miler so he would be vulnerable to a speedier type, having said that if the rain continues it could turn into a slog and that would be right up his street!
Its always a good feeling when your Ante-Post selection moves in the market like this,i just hope he does the same on course!
Good luck with your selection!November 13, 2009 at 20:06 #258541I do like Ballyfitz. If i ever feel sorry for a horse, it’s a horse like him. He’s got an extremely low head carriage. He just ploughs away and gets on with it the poor thing. I have to admit at being a bit suprised at how low he is in the market.

I bet you cant remember Jimmy fitzgeralds
Comeragh King
Now he did have a low head carriage for a 3m chaser!A horse called
Alphabatim
trained by Guy harwood had an an incredibly low head carriage for a flat horse too!
November 13, 2009 at 21:14 #258550I haven’t heard of either. I wonder if the low head carriage is representative of their mood ?
Fununalter came third and sends me into the middle of the atlantic ocean in a rubber dinghy. Didn’t get out the stall quick enough, and i dunno if Moore can have much blame to be honest. He does have a habit of going wide instead of trying to wait for a space though. Imagine Jimmy Fortune took charm school out wide ?
What do you think of Seta with regards to the 1000gs. She seems to have a high knee carriage…which would perhaps point to her wanting softer ground perhaps in the Oaks ? Either way i have my eye on her for the 1000gs at what looks like a reasonable price. Run like a baby the last time, and there’s plenty more to come.

Kieran Fallon thinks she is special, personally i think she is a flash in the pan and Newmarket will suit her as much as Swine Flu suits me!I like Sir Michaels
Tabassum
at 20/1,
he should have put her away before the Rockfel, still Green as a pea.She will defineately develop through the winter, both mentally and physically and will love Newmarkets mile!November 13, 2009 at 22:09 #258562Oh i dunno. Maybe Seta is more of an Oaks type perhaps. She was so green though and still traveled well that i think there’s a lot more there. What has Cecil Henry got in the 1000gs pipeline. He has some record with fillies.
November 26, 2009 at 10:06 #260557Another assault on the Hennesey saw a [b:1i8prs0u]£20[/color:1i8prs0u][/b:1i8prs0u][/size:1i8prs0u] stake on Cappa Bleu. He’s got to be beating the handicapper well, and in my opinion will be a big danger flying up the business end. 9/1 taken.
– £662
November 26, 2009 at 13:27 #260584Time to have small peck at Kempes(arkle) again £4 @ 54/1, as well as Behtarini(which probably won’t turn up) for the Derby at 265/1 with £6.
One of these days one of these massive long shots will come up, and set the ball rolling into the big time !
– £672

November 26, 2009 at 14:32 #260594Bit ambitious Graeme, you were well named before!Goldikova is a class filly, something you want to tell us?
November 26, 2009 at 16:12 #260619I felt i had to pay homage to a filly with one of the greatest running styles of all time. She never shirked a challenge, and will run for yet another season, over possibly three countries yet again. Not too many high class horses you can say that about.
I felt as if the term ‘donkey’ in my name was becoming inappropriate considering i will one day be not merely the ante post king, but the ante post overlord. I will be sending you to the exchanges one of these days my future subject, to put on a bet once even the exchanges want rid of me because all their big rollers are upset at me taking too big a bite out of the apple.
This thread is a mere experiment. A warm up geared towards a bigger picture.
Tell me self proclaimed ante post king, just when are you putting up you next big ante post tip up….48 hours before the race ? LOL

We have to wait a very long time for my real ante posts, many of which take months and months to race.

If only i knew how to put up a picture of Shreks DONKEY!
TAPK will give my little "Doppleganger" a word of advice! When you start putting up some double figure priced winners,or even a winner or 2 i will give you the praise you deserve!Good luck Goldilocks!November 26, 2009 at 20:37 #260651I believe Pounced was a double figured winner at 10/1. I could wait closer to races and put on some better bets, but i’m going for the glory. I’m the only one of this section who keeps a profit and loss update, as well as putting all the little daft bets on as well.
Watch on with envy whilst i take the Hennesey top prize you pretender.
