October 12, 2009 at 01:19 #252908Good Luck Donkey!Stick at it,you never know you could go from a donkey to a King!!
October 12, 2009 at 03:18 #252921I think the song goes From A Jock To A King
October 12, 2009 at 15:58 #253000Thank you Kings and music lovers alike.
Next up is Rainbow View 16/1 e/w for the BC Ladies Classic. Now if Zenyatta turns up we need something to have a pop at her, and if she dosen’t then it’s up for grabs. Will Rainbow View even run the classic ? i’d hope so !!
I’m also keeping my eyes open for Icon Project. She has a slight niggle, so we will have to listen out to see if she’s well enough to go straight to Santa Anita. If she does go then i will look at it closer to the time.
£5@ 16s & £5 e/w @16s
October 13, 2009 at 19:07 #253184Dewhurst – Silver Grecian 8/1
It has a nice composure and can come with a late run. I don’t know how much the extra 3 pound in weight affected it the last time. It’s an impressive colt, and i think it has a reasonable chance. This is the type of race i shouldn’t really be involved with, but i feel as if i can watch it with a better interest.
I wnder if Bin Suroor has been working on settling Poets Voice down, as it’s an impressive colt aswell, and i don’t think they want it to be so keen early doors.
£10
October 13, 2009 at 22:27 #253222Okay rat fans ? okay Roland !!!
Okay rat fans, next up is Midshipman 16/1 e/w for the BC dirt mile. He liked the dirt on his re-apperarance but has been lazy since. He will go straight there though with a shout, what with all that ability he has !!!
And oh Rat fans, the 16’s for Rainbow View left the Sid James Building. I believe she’s now at 12’s.

October 14, 2009 at 13:02 #253294Alot of talk about Cima De Triomphe, but my preference is for Kirklees for the Caulfield Cup. Unfortunately i never got round to taking a higher price when i should have, so 8/1 it is. He was impressive lto on the all weather against modest opposition, but should have improvment on Saturday. It’s one of these bets where i would be pissed off if it won and i never backed it.
October 14, 2009 at 17:46 #253331Hannon Jnr says there is a chance Dick Turpin will run in the Dewhurst. His last race didn’t suit at all. Newmarket should be kinder to him if he turns up, and at 20/1 w&e/w i’ve decided to take a small risk. Hard to ignore a price like that.
October 14, 2009 at 21:27 #253365The challenge stakes at Newmarket has Cuis Ghaire re-appearing after sinking at the Curragh. Now i’ve taken the 9/1 e/w, even though i originally intended to back Finjaan. She ran well in the guineas, and i’m hoping the Bolger yard is buzzing. I know that Finjaan is raring to go and looks to be the one to beat, but there’s no going back. Let’s hope for a place.

I like your foresight Graeme, now lets see this donkey kick some Ass!
October 15, 2009 at 00:40 #253405I need something to do me a turn Gordan. Sid James do some decent prices for the Breeders Cup races. On the right track though, as just about every price is falling/will fall.
I’m sure you’d agree the 11/4 for Look Here is alot better than the 5/6 for Rainbow View for the Taylor at Woodbine.
EP Taylor Stakes at Woodbine – Look Here 11/4. Talented horse and Beckett is on fire right now. Rainbow View is odds on which i just can’t have. Being a nick behind Doc Freemantle is good form in my book, if you consider that she should come on from that run.
If Look Here wins i do alright, if Rainbow View wins she should go to the Ladies Classic which i’ve backed anyway.
For the value punter Eastern Aria at 16/1 is good value. Johnsons horses are tough and 10f should suit it just fine. I wouldn’t put anyone off e/w.
Look here it is though. I just can’t have Rainbow View at odds on, not against an older horse. Although i won’t be too dissapointed if she wins.
October 15, 2009 at 13:08 #253450Zacinto for the BC mile is adequate cover for the Goldikova bet. 6/1 is very much respectable. Goldikova was the same pricve before Zacinto and Gladiatorus were put in this race, yet she’s now odds on. Goldikova won’t be looked at again until the odds dramatically improve.
BC mile Zacinto – 6/1.
£20
October 15, 2009 at 17:20 #253476Looks like i was right not to back Finjaan, as he’s been pulled out. Maybe Maktoum just wants Ougba to be his sole participant, because i’m sure Trengoning was raring to go. Duff won’t ruhn either. I wouldn’t be suprised if Bolger sent Cuis Ghaire to Naas instead on the Sunday. Chances are he will be at Newmarket though. It’s still a big ask against the likes of Ashram.
The psychology of betting can be weird at times. I never thought i’d be backing a Bolger horse that’s had a lay off after Gan Amhras last run at the Curragh. I guess not being in the know just means you have to hope for your best at times.
October 15, 2009 at 18:35 #253485Hi Graeme
How do you know for sure which race Rainbow View will be running in at the BC?
Are there two main options – the Ladies’ Classic, and the F&M Turf?
October 15, 2009 at 19:04 #253488Alright Gerald.
I don’t know for sure that she would head to the Ladies classic, it’s just where i think she will go. I think gosden said someone had to have a go at taking on Zenyatta, so to me that signalled his intentions. We know he likes running horses over there, and i’d imagine Dar re mi wants more than 9f, which is the ladies classic distance. So i think Dar re mi would more likely got to the F&M turf or the BC turf.
Next bet is Breeders Cup Marathon 4/1 Mastery. This might be an ignorant bet on my behalf, as i’m not sure the Yanks are known for their 14f horses, or marathon runers or whatever they call them over there. I’m sure Kasbah Bliss trainer would rather go to Hong Kong, i don’t know if Septimus wants this race after so long out(anyone got an opinion on Septimus’s participation ?) and one of the American hopes is out(Midships). Mourylan’s owner is too ignorant to let his trainer know what’s going on, and if Muhanaak won it last season then i’m not all that worried about the yanks anyway.
Maybe it’s amateurish on my behalf with regards to Septimus. Is this the kind of race/surface you want to bring a horse straight back into after being out for about one year ?
Mastery 4/1
October 16, 2009 at 22:27 #253671Pride Stakes – Ashalanda 6/1
Lightly raced and open to improvement.
£10
October 16, 2009 at 22:43 #253677Jockey Club Cup – Starfala 10/1
Should be fine with the distance, and won’t be beaten without giving a good account of herself. The price is more than fair in my opinion, and that’s why i took it.
