Lotus Evora Rockfel Stakes – ChampagneLifeStyle 11/1 e/w
Tabasuun is odds on and already has low quotes for next years 1000gs. I will naturally be opposing her and looking for that each way place. Champagnerlifestyle should come on from her last run, is well bred and possibly underated. She has it all to do, but so do all horses starting against an odds on shot.
October 16, 2009 at 23:59 #253706This thread is shaping up to be my forlorn hope.
Apparently all who put on too many bets are destined to fail. I shall slowly march towards to boomakers, head erect and sword pointing at them. Wish me well, comrades.http://i36.tinypic.com/1hleh.jpg
October 17, 2009 at 22:19 #253963The battle rages on after the first day at Newmarket. I got one winner Ashalanda @ 6/1. I’m kinda dissapointed as many punter would be as a good few outsiders had their day. Good ride by Soumillon to give me a bit of hope.
Running total = – £278

I don’t see how on Saturdays evidence that this colt shouldn’t be a smaller price. Maybe the bookies have Ballydoyle sussed. He travelled really well for a horse who had some time out. I think come the guineas, Steinbeck will go off at 6/1.
Ballydoyle have so many talented colts, so it’s all about guessing their top pospects and hoping in turns up present and correct in may.
I have one concern though. If this horse is strictly a miler, will they not put more emphasis and their best jockey on a horse they suspect can cover 8-10 or 8-12 furlongs i.e St Nicholas Abbey ?

Travells well and jumps for days. If all goes well, we have a live contender. Caught my eye back in April, but i’ve still to suss out what certain horses will be aimed at for Cheltenham.
October 19, 2009 at 00:42 #254161After confiding in my national hunt consigliere, i have decided on the following.
Aiteenfiftythree 33/1 Ballymore Novices

October 19, 2009 at 15:05 #254239Hot Prospect 2010 Derby 40/1
£30
It runs today at Pontefract, with Fallon on board. It moves superbly well, and has Derby written all over it on size and breeding. It races today against a Godolphin horse who is rated 15 higher on 109, and is giving HP only 3 pounds. That’s what this is about though, taking risks and trying to use a bit of foresight. Jarvis has never won a Derby before either, but wouldn’t it be something if he won his first derby at his age ?

Jan Vermeer 20/1 –
Midas Touch 20/1

That’s more than enough to be honest. I’m kind of putting too much on and i need to just sit back and let all these run. I can’t afford to put on anymore.

Hot Prospect..ooppsss not my finest ante post hour

I get the impression i’m armed with a stick, and 1200 people are heading in my direction with cannons and machine guns.

October 21, 2009 at 15:07 #254589King George – Kalahari King 35/1
It might just go to Kempton and is a good type. Nothing to lose basically. I’ll talk more about it if it ever gets declared. Saves me from looking like an even bigger tit.
Champion Hurdle – Ebadiyan 116/1
I was watching some re-runs and took interest in this one as it took a wee wander when travelling well in the triumph. The trainer think alot of this horse, so you never know. I’m quite pleased with this one actually, although it won’t be my main bet for this race. The powder is being kept dry.
October 21, 2009 at 21:25 #254691I went back in for more Midshipman for the BC dirt mile
12/1
October 22, 2009 at 10:32 #254738It’s not looking good after both the ones i backed for RP trophy won’t be running. A little bit dis-heartened at this point, but i’ll see what happens.
Simon Crissford seems really keen on Geyego. He runs on the dirt sprint at Santa Anita.
Geyego BC sprint 6/1 –
After the disapointing ante post flop on the Racing post and nothing looking that good at the minute, i had another wee venture into the Derby.
St Nicholas Abbey 8/1 –
Jan Vermeer 33/1 –
It’s hard to know in what regard Jan Vermeer is held, as all O’Brien ever says is ‘listen’.
I really like the look of him though, and feel he is underated at this point.
– £519
That’s defintely it for now. I got a little hooked on some ante posting but i’ll just have to see if anything comes up before having anymore bets.

Racing Post trophy(which i shouldn’t be betting on)
Elusive Award 33/1
£10 e/w
I was watching ATR and the Irish guy Dougan likes this horse and says it will be placed. It showed a replay of it though and i think it could well be progressive, and 33/1 was just too big to miss. The exchanges have been reeled in by his comments aswell, as they’re believers also. I won’t look like the only stupid one if it fails to run a good race.

I always intended to bare this horse in mind after it last ran at the tail end of last season at Punchestown i think it was. It’s just very eye catching in the quality of jumping, balance and pace. Taitiano was my value bet, this is my more hopeful bet.
Pinocchio needs a winner. Fingers crossed.
October 22, 2009 at 13:45 #254778Supreme Novices Hurdle
Lidar – 20/1
A horse i liked since last year before alot of people started talking it up a bit as a good thing. This will take to the hurdles like a duck to water.

I thought it would have headed to the turf myself

No Pinocchio this time. This is it until we get some runs on the board.
