Not been any selections for the “sires” idea for a while.

Another idea that has just come to my notice is horses that were gambled on in their last race.
HRB has a shortcut to highlight horses that shortened by 5 points between opening show and SP in their last race.
The 5 points are the traditional bookmakers points so 2/1 into 11/8 is 5 points, although I have been looking at odds higher than that.

I ignore ones that were gambled and then won their last race as they are unlikely to follow up, not many do but I have noticed that they often place.

The ones that I am interested in are the ones that were significantly shortened but then came up short for whatever reason finishing second or third. My reasoning is that connections will want their money back!

There is only one tentative selection today and that is Sweet Vinetta in the 4:45 at Catterick. This was actually beaten into third by about 9 lengths, so I am a bit doubtful about it and will see how the market develops.

Not many of these were favourites in the qualifying race actually.There is another shortcut which goes straight to today’s beaten favs on HRB.
I think HRB is well worth the £20 per month, I would not be without it now.
