“I do not believe it is decided at the last minute and I do not believe Mullins operates on some sort of wing and a prayer. To be that successful requires well thought out, meticulous planning.”

The well thought out meticulous planning imo includes Mullins and Townend sitting down and discussing the entries, the likely state of the ground, the likely opponents, and confirming with owners. His other main jockeys may be part of these conversations. As Mullins trains horses to run every day pretty much and Townend riding them, when Mullins says he hasn’t sat down with Townend (and possibly others) yet regarding definitive entries, and it will be done closer to the time, that is probably the case. And it isn’t just this race, him and other trainers too have multiple entries for horses and as yet we don’t know who is going where for a number of them. Not ideal for AP backers of course but they are probably used to it.

I find it interesting that Patrick, the stable’s number 2 jockey on paper, is all but confirmed to ride Kilcruit. Wouldn’t that be a massive pointer to the fact that only one of Sir Gerhard and Dysart Dynamo will run here (the former imo).

Id assume its been 1/1000 on they get split since dysart did that in the grade 2 tom,

I cant see either staying the ballymore trip as ive said previously, but id personally think SG is the more likely, but i couldnt be close to certain (partially as ive backed DD here at 16s

Excellent we have this situation, if this doesnt turn out to be an altior/min supreme ill be stunned.

“I just find it very difficult to believe that at a moment when the horses are entering the final moments of training that a successful trainer like Mullins does not know which race each horse is going to run in.

I do not believe it is decided at the last minute and I do not believe Mullins operates on some sort of wing and a prayer. To be that successful requires well thought out, meticulous planning.”

It’s a 2mile race and a 2m4 one. Their training wont be that much different.

What about Ginto and Three Stripes Life? Their targets are still not certain.

What about all the County and Pipe entrants that could go either way?

    2m5f*

Its a big decision, especially when theres a real posibillity neither will stay the extra 5f against the tried and tested at that distance

I thought about that the other day mark, more importantly, how small a field is this going to be ? 6? Sg or dd jonbon/CH/MP/kilcruit/ILTMI

    who else?

Id say i like to move it would make it if hes going here, havent a clue if thats the plan

I seen three stripe life quoted as coming but the exchanges seem to be telling another story, i may have to b&l him for here assuming gordon sticks to his initial plan

Is jpr one really coming? I thought theyd have gave it a miss, pointless

I half thought theyd run el fab elswhere since kilcruit + 1 of the big two are coming, but even if 2/3 turn up, still a very small field again

I keep coming back to Kilcruit and i’ve taken the Sky Bet offer at a generous 7/1. Max bet £10 but its a free swing or your money back.

With Minella Crooner injured, Three Stripe Life or Mighty Potter could switch to the Ballymore if Ginto switches to the Albert Bartlett.

His granny bred Kilcruit so he’d probably want to ride it (and try to avenge last year) no matter what other horses were available after Townend chose his. If they all went here Danny Mullins could ride Dynamo.

There’s no way DD and SG are both coming here; he always splits his best 2. Dysart Dynamo far too buzzy for the Ballymore. Sir G is class and class horses win over any trip. Sir G will piss up in the Ballymore and I imagine Dysart Dynamo will piss up here as well if he handles the occasion.

I’m increasingly beginning to doubt Dysart dynamo handling the occasion myself vautour

He looked very buzzy going down to post in the Moscow flyer

That mare winning at Samdown put to bed the Henderson poor run.
