Here is a really annlying one that would wind up John McRirick no end (I have sent it to Channel 4 for just that purpose)

Which British Racecourse has a wartime Derby winner alongside it?

    Go on somebody must know.

    Towcester ?

Right first time Himself, thought I would not be the only one to know that alongside Towcester is the A5 otherwise known as Watling Street who I think won the Derby on Newmarket’s July Course in 1941.

Will this quiz tomorrow be in the Chat Room or the Main Forum?

Does the Chat function still work?

Actually, I thought it was the Lady Dudley Cup, Lord Ashton of Hydes Cup and the Lord Grimthorpe Cup. For the all weather merchants, these are three of the Point to point classics which also include The Coronation Cup and the John Peel Open

    4. 1000 Guineas/Oaks
    5. –

    8. Oaks ?
    9. Dick Francis
    10. Bay ?

    12. Oaks ?
    13. Horse Racing would be most appropriate I feel.

    4. Name any two of the three races that make up the triple crown?(flat)

Hamburg, Bad Harzburg and Quackenbruck. (Mr. Grayson and Bbobbell should be with me on that one!!).
In case anyone is wondering, they’re the three Lake Races in Germany!

    5. Sam Arnull was the first jockey to win which race?

According to a magazine I’ve got on the inter-war racing scene in Berlin, it has the following listing:

    ‘Arnull, S. Trainer, Hoppegarten, 1930-1938’.

If it’s the same S. Arnull, then I’m going to say the Grosser Preis von Baden-Baden!

Or we could add this Triple Crown. Flag Moor stonewall members, the Grand Pardubice and the La Touche Memorial.
