So far so good today, 3 out of 3 and good running up money on the last but meanwhile I can’t resist a small bet £2 ew on KING RAMA in the 7.30, it’s not so long since he could have carried some of this field on his back and still won. He wasn’t that far behind the winner last time out and the form of the race has worked out well. 16-1 is far too big

Good day, but typically of this month I came good on a day where my stakes were relatively small.
As one horse was on the flat I’ve allocated a quarter of the yankee profit to my flat bets (Other thread)
    NH profit today £210.63
Summer NH back in the black, overall profit £134.24

A couple of hurdlers stand out on form today, no prizes for selecting DE SENECTUTE after his facile win at Cork, the 6 lb penalty will be on no consequence but the odds will be very skinny.
Better value lies in the next race where the top weight DOLPHIN BAY looks a great EW, the form of his comeback run after two years absence from NH racing has worked out very well with a whole host of winners coming out of the race, Grey Soldier was only a short head in front of him for instance. A run on the flat since where he finished third should have ready to win and with Nina Carberry booked he looks well worth a wager.
Stakes later once early odds are available.

PS Star bet of the day/month runs at Leopardstown, see my flat thread

EDIT 14.38 Bets & Stakes listed in my Flat thread

The hurdles are there to be jumped :( If Paul Townend hadn’t been trying to win by a lngth or so to protect her handicap mark he’d have been well in front by the last and had time to recover.
Second error was to click the bet button on what I’d intended to be £30 win on DOLPHIN BAY when the EW box was ticked so now I’m on £30 EW a 6/4 shot.
    Oh dear………….

My flat runners got me out of trouble yesterday, wound up with a small profit on the day

Two flat runners backed to try to get some running up money on the last at Kilbeggan.

When Noel Meade and Willie Mullins both have runners in a bumper, trying to find one to beat them both is usually one of the quickest routes to the poorhouse but DUTY DANCE may well be good enough, there must have been something amiss last time out.
His form behind The Grey Express is good enough to land this, the second won at Perth and the winner has won again and would be unbeaten in three runs had he not come up against the highly impressive Tus Nua, surely a Galway banker?

Editted 17.55 No running up cash so a modest £3.25 EW @ 11-1

The more I look at the last at Kilbeggan the more I fancy DUTY DANCE, Nina’s mount looks FAR too short a price, the Mullins horse doesn’t seem that fancied and I can’t see past these three…any members thoughts on the race would be greatly appreciated, meanwhile I’ve had another £6 EW @ 11-1 but I could be persuaded to go in again……….

How true, Nina stole the race from the front

It’s hard to imagine THE REAL ARTICLE coming off the bridle in the 6.00 at Tipperary and any sort of half decent price would be worth lumping on…my paper (Racing Plus) suggests 8/11 if thats on offer, pawn the car, Racing Post go 4/9 I worry he might be even shorter.

It’s been a while but I’ve found a couple of jumpers worth a small bet today

ADMIRAL DUNDEE 4.05 Southwell and MR JAY DEE 5.45 Southwell both look solid EW options, not ones to go in too heavy on though
3 x £1.50 EW doubles and £1.70 EW Treble with one on the flat, KEY SECURE in the 7.35 Wexford

Another to consider is CLASSIC MILAN in the 9.05 at Wexford tonight. Nina Carberry rides and then rides in the 1.30 at Ascot tomorrow, with the travel involved it seems to me the ride for Charlie Swan would have to be worthwhile for her to go through all that overnight travellng?

Two winners and a N/R, profit £40.72 Back in the black
    NH Summer Profit £11.80

Lets go mad and have it all on CLASSIC MILAN in the last at Wexford, :D
    £5.90 EW

    Winning pointer,

    BYNACK MHOR

(Uttoxeter, tomorrow) showed real battling qualities last time out when getting up in the final strides to win a race he looked to have little hope of landing two fences out. Aiden Coleman rides again and he has an exceptional strike rate for the stable.
Dermot Weld should land a first and last race double on the opening day of the Galway Festival with

    FORCE OF HABIT

in the novice hurdle who also has an entry on the flat later in the week and the highly regarded bumper,

    FORT DEFIANCE

I’ve also pinpointed two on the flat at Galway tomorrow, that I’m quite keen on and I feel both have very good chances, one is in the region of 6-1, the other approx 20-1, I’ll list their names in my flat thread closer to the off as I may be using one in the bet 365Nap competition

    First bet, all at Galway

    £20 EW FORCE OF HABIT

    £1 EW TRIXIE
    £1 EW TREBLE

    Force of Habit
    Alexander Pope
plus one in The QR race, I’ll post the selection after the previous race

A great ride (Paul Townend) but Seamie would be the first to admit he got shut in badly in the sprint

The QR Horse is Mount Helicon
    See flat thread
    Profit excluding the trixie £125
