I’ve added Fleeting Spirit to my Royal Ascot book. She’s bypassed the Kings Stand for the Golden Jubilee which is probably a tip in itself after the cracker she ran in the former last year. €10 e/w @ 9/1.
– €23.35
June 14, 2010 at 10:31 #300454I don’t expect there’ll be much between Equiano and Total Gallery in tomorrow’s Kings Stand, but I have small reservations about Equiano’s ability to make all in such a high class field. I do think he’ll be thereabouts, but Total Gallery will be finishing fast and could nick it on the line! €5 e/w @ 10/1.
– €33.35
June 14, 2010 at 15:56 #300521A quick glance at tomorrow’s Ascot Stakes and Som Tala stands out. Beaten 9 lengths in this last year off a 6lb higher mark. His form before last year’s effort wasn’t any better than it is before this year’s race. He seems to do best over these marathon trips and he has a squeak.
June 14, 2010 at 16:53 #300533It looks as if Ask is taking his chance in teh Ascot Gold Cup. He’d carry these over 1m 4f. I’m convinced he’s a class above these and as he saw the 2m out very well at Longchamp, the 2m 4f should be grand. €10 e/w @ 6/1. Royal Ascot book:
Queen Anne: Goldikova €10 win 7/4
Kings Stand: Total Gallery €5 e/w 10/1
St James Palace: Makfi €10 win 5/2
Prince Of Wales: Twice Over €10 win 4/1
Gold Cup: Age Of Aquarius €10 win 5/1
Ask €10 e/w 6/1
Golden Jubilee: Fleeting Spirit €10 e/w @ 9/1– €53.35
June 15, 2010 at 11:07 #300735I’ll probably go in again on Goldi today. Otheres that interest me at the prices are Steinbeck, Equiano, Elzaam, and Som Tala. Wesley Ward’s horse in the last is also quite interesting. Goldikova has to be the NAP of the day though!
June 15, 2010 at 13:18 #300783€10 win Goldi 13/8
€5 win Steinbeck 13/2
€5 e/w Elzaam 9/2
€5 dbl Paco Boy to place and Canford Cliffs to win 11/2June 15, 2010 at 14:00 #300822– €83.35 after my last post. Thanks to Goldikova (€10 @ 7/4, €10 @ 13/8), I’ve had a good start to the meeting.
+ €27.50
+ €26.25
– €29.60
June 15, 2010 at 14:10 #300830I got my cumuppence for not sticking with Equiano there

Fancied him to run a big race but was too stupid to back him!
June 15, 2010 at 14:57 #300845I’ll now admit Canford Cliffs is the class 3yo miler of his generation. However I don’t think Makfi ran his race at all. Lucky I spotted the double in Paddy Power!
+ €32.50
+ €2.90
June 15, 2010 at 15:34 #300868Elzaam done on the line to add to my Equiano woe. However, there’s little doubt the best horse won!
+ €11.25
+ €14.15
June 15, 2010 at 16:04 #300877€2.50 e/w Som Tala

June 15, 2010 at 16:25 #300885I think Metropolitan Man is one to be on the right side of in the last here. 9/4 is fair game as far as I’m concerned. €10 win @ 9/4
– €0.85
June 15, 2010 at 20:13 #300945A decent start to Royal Ascot, only a €20 profit for Day 1 but a profit is a profit

If every day went like that I couldn’t complain!
June 15, 2010 at 20:40 #300953One horse stands out tomorrow, that’s Lovelace in the Hunt Cup. He won the race on the far side in this last year off 110, and he races of 106 this year. The only danger is he’s once again drawn way over on the far side again, and you never really know what side is the side to be on until after the race! At 25/1 it could be worth the risk though.
June 15, 2010 at 20:44 #300956If Timepiece was seen as an Oaks winner, then surely she can win a handicap off 105

Others on omorrow’s card I like are Free Judgement and Moonlit Garden.
June 16, 2010 at 13:28 #301129Timepiece €5 e/w 8/1
If she’s as good as they seem to think surely off 105, surely, she’ll be in the mix here.Richard Hills said his juvenile rides were his best this week, Maqaasid €5 e/w 10/3.
Lovelace €2.50 e/w @ 25/1, on last year’s form he must have a decent shout.
Mawatheeq €5 e/w 6/1, already expressed my opinion on this lad, there’s a Group 1 in him!

I’ve also had €15 place on Free Judgement at 5/4, he has the best form in the race, simple as. He seems like a horse who could find 1 too good however.
Strawberrydaiquiri is another who I’ll probably back at Spacious’s expense
