Horse wasn’t good enough to carry the Magnier 10lb penalty

His astuteness in the saddle seen coming round the bend into the straight. Sometines you just have to sit back and laugh
Can’t buy a winner at the moment!June 10, 2010 at 20:12 #299846Welcome Addition didn’t run as she was backed, but luckily Zarebiya won cosily at 3/1. She looks very smart it has to be said.
+ €20
– €70
June 10, 2010 at 20:46 #299851The Queen Anne is a two horse race for me: Goldikova vs Rip Van Winkle. If Rip can beat her first time out then he’s an absolute monster. €10 win at 7/4 on Goldi, with a view to putting more on on the day.

June 11, 2010 at 18:39 #299999THM… COULDN’T AGREE MORE WITH YOUR VIEW ON MISHEER, WHO I TOOK FROM THE GUINEAS AS A POTENTIAL GR1 SPRINT PROBABILITY. INTERESTING CLIVE HAS HER NOMINATED FOR THE DARLEY TOO, AND AVOIDED THE MILE AND MILE + FILLIES RACES, BARRING THE CORONATION.
THAT BASIS I TOOK SOME OF THE 100+ IN THE JUBILEE.
MY READ IS THAT SHE ON FORM IS WITHIN 2 LENGTHS OF SHOWCASING. MY HOPE IS THAT SHE WILL HAVE IMPROVED, OR IMO CALLAN (I PRESUME) WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BUICK’S (ONLY TEMPORARY) LACK OF EXPERIENCE TO COMMIT A RUNNER EARLY, WHICH COST SHOWCASING SURE VICTORY LAST TIME OUT, AND AS WAS ADVERTISED AT KEMPTON THE OTHER NIGHT ON THE 2 SECONDS HE RODE. I HOLD BUICK IN THE HIGHEST REGARD, AND EXPECT HIM TO BE AMONGST THE BEST HERE. PRESENTLY HE IS JUST BRILLIANT SITTING OFF THE PACE ON MILE AND MORE RACES, AS MY BANK ACCOUNT WILL TESTIFY TO; NOTABLY BEACHFIRE, DEBUSSY AND FALLEN IDOL AS EXAMPLE.
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS HOWEVER, WHEN NOMS FIRST CAME OUT FOR THIS I WAS PROMPTED TO ADVISE FRED CRABBIA (ROCKETMAN) THAT THIS RACE WOULD BE A PENALTY KICK FOR HIM, PRIOR THE DUBAI RACE. WHILST HE IS NOT COMING, KINSALE KING IS, AND O’CALLAGHAN IS AT THE LEAST RATHER OPTIMISTIC, IF I HAD ONLY A COUPLE OF 2 YEAR OLDS TO BEAT SO WOULD I BE. PS THEY BET KINSALE KING SOLIDLY FROM 10 INTO 6 AND LESS FOR THE DUBAI RACE, AND THAT AGAINST ROCKETMANS EARLY PRICE OF 4/1 INTO EVENS; TAKES SOME DOING.
WE WILL KNOW SOON ENOUGH
June 11, 2010 at 19:00 #300005I AM AS HAPPY AS LARRY AT THE MOMENT FOR LADDIES POKER TWO. WAS LOOKING THROUGH THE EARLY DECS AND REMEMBERED THIS FROM LAST YEAR (WITHDRAWN,THEN SOLD)…30/1 THANKS VERY MUCH
WHO BOUGHT IT; COOLMORE, AND STILL WITH NOSEDA… 30 ODD TO ONE THANK YOU.
COOLMORE BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE THEY NEED ANOTHER BROODMARE? DOUBT IT. NOSEDA KEPT IT BECAUSE IT WS A LOST CAUSE? DOUBT IT. NOMINATED FOR THE JULY CUP, INTO THIS WITHOUT A PREP RACE, APPARENTLY WORKING WELL WITH A HIGHLY REGARDED WORKMATE (AT A PURE GUESS FLEETING SPIRIT?)
25 20 NOW 14 AND 12, THEY MIGHT JUST BE WARMING UP…
June 11, 2010 at 19:04 #300006MAWATHEEQ
WAS HEAVILY SUPPORTED FOR THE DUBAI RACE, AND WITHDRAWN. IT WOULD APPEAR CONFIDENCE WAS HIGH WITH HIM FOR THIS.
PURELY ON THEIR LAST MEET HE SHOULD BE RIGHT THERE, ANTEPOST OF 9.8 LOOKS GOOD VALUE. CANT HAVE BYWORD JUST ON ONE CONTEMPORARY RUN; ALBEIT A GOOD ONE.
THINK TWICE OVER AND MAWATHEEQ FIGHT IT OUT, TALLY-HO DICKIE
June 11, 2010 at 20:47 #300027I know this is aftertimeing but sure the only person I’d be fooling is myself! Went into Wexford this evening had €10 win on Don’t Be Bitin @ 8s and got carried away by putting €20 win on Lady Chatterbox in the bumper.

June 11, 2010 at 22:09 #300044PhDstudent, I agree with you about Mawatheeq, he was very progressive last year. He’ll be there-abouts in this and I’m sure the Champion Stakes will be a target once again.
June 12, 2010 at 14:09 #300158Victoire De Lyphar looked a different animal last time out for Dandy Nicholls and a 7lb rise in the weights may not be enough to stop him. He’s Nicholl’s only runner which could mean this horse has een laid out for today. €5 e/w @ 9/1.
– €30
June 12, 2010 at 14:22 #300161What a difference a couple of days can make! Victoire was one of the first to come under pressure but found plenty thank God!
+ €66.25

June 12, 2010 at 21:29 #300219Had €5 win on Twice Over for the Prince Of Wales Stakes @ 4/1. The race looks between him and Mawatheeq for me and although I slightly favour Mawatheeq the 4/1 is just too big.
+ €31.65

I’ve had another €5 on at 4/1 after reading Zenjah’s comments from the Guardian, saying Mawatheeq is expected to need the run. He’ll need to be bang on form to beat Twice Over, who will have no excuses and sets the standard here. I’ll probably still have an interest in Mawatheeq, as I’ll be surprised if he ends this season without a Group 1 win!
My Royal Ascot book now looks like this:
Queen Anne: Goldikova €10 win 7/4
St James Palace: Makfi €10 win 5/2
Prince Of Wales: Twice Over €10 win 4/1
Gold Cup: Age Of Aquarius €10 win 5/1+ €26.65
June 13, 2010 at 14:25 #300308Two mares who hold good chances today are Zarinava at Roscommon and Last Flight at Sedgefield. Zarinava is the best of these over flights yet receives weight all round here. She got tired towards the end of her previous race but this is 2f shorter and she should take all the beating. Last Flight runs in the novice chase ar Sedgefield, she also ran well without winning last time, and looks nicely in at the weights. Both ar around the 3/1 mark, which is good value.
June 13, 2010 at 14:46 #300315Missed the 7/2 on Zarinava because I was too greedy and waited for the opening show
7/2 was a steal. I had to settle for €10 win @ 5/2

God blasht it, done in the final furlong! As Matt Chapman said, Tin Town Boy was "the eye catcher of all eye catchers!"
June 13, 2010 at 15:44 #300323€10 win Last Flight at 5/2
She’s Our Mark way too big a price at Cork @ 5/1

€5 e/w
– €3.35
June 13, 2010 at 15:57 #300326She’s Our Mark finished 4th but was the last to pull up. She’ll probably be suited to a return to a stiffer track.
Last Flight was summed up correctly by the commentator when he said "she’ll surely be winning soon!", hit the crossbar again today. There are races to be won with her.
