Saiska takes centre stage in France today. I’ve had €10 e/w @ 4/1. Robbie McNamara should win the bumper so I’ve had €10 win on The Shepherd King @ 3/1, as well as €5 e/w on the Double.
+ €100.51
September 12, 2010 at 13:58 #317199€30 down the drain just like that

There was always a chance that would happen though, yet I took the rist.
Really like Behkabad and hes hould once again see off Planteur.

September 12, 2010 at 14:25 #317204Finally a winner, I must admit I’m growing weary of the Flat. It’s just been a struggle this summer for me!

Any time I’ve had a half decent profit I manage to blow it. Atleast I’m not in the red

Can’t wait for the jumps to begin again

+ €47.50

September 12, 2010 at 14:40 #317210€20 win Daryakana @ 7/2, have doubts about Byword’s ability to get home over today’s trip, talented horse though he is. The Aga Khan’s filly is the one most likely to capitalise on Byword’s lack of stamina imo.
+ €128.01
September 12, 2010 at 17:40 #317231The Shepherd King wins cosily in the last

€5 e/w @ 3/1 returns €28
€10 win @ 3/1 returns €40+ €68

September 12, 2010 at 19:18 #317248Time to look at the Arc picture!
The Prix Vermeille wet to Midday, and saw the retirement of the brilliant Sariska. I’d fancy Sarafina to turn the tables on Midday if they meet again, she was given a soft ride today and it looked as if connections had only 1 race in mind. Behkabad was once again very good, getting up late to defy Planteur, who looked to have the race won over a furlong out. The horse has done me a favour twice but there’s something in my mind telling me he’s not got the X-factor! He’s probably the Most solid option in an Arc that looks to lack one outstanding candidate.
Fame And Glory will be one tough nut to crack if he’s in the firing line turning in, and he’s been campaigned with the Arc as hiss target all year. I do however feel that a bad draw could compromise his chances as imo he’ll need to be up in the van the whole way. There was something special about the way Workforce obliterated the Derby field (albeit a crap one), and a reproduction of that can see him take a hand in the finish.
So, there’s four genuine Arc contenders imo, but isn’t there one horse missing? You’ve guessed it, Youmzain. This horse is remarkably consistent in the Arc and I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on his King George run. He never runs his race at Ascot and this is a completely different kettle of fish. At 7, some might say he’s over the hill, but I think his run earlier in the year behind Plumania suggests there’s fight in the old dog yet.
Genuine Arc contenders seem think on the ground this year, and I’d wager Youmzain will outrun many in the run to the line. He was 25/1 earlier today, but as a result of the poor performances of some of the other contenders (Byword, Daryakana and Sariska, he’s now only 20/1. He’ll be more like 12/1 on the day imo, who knows, he might even win!
Well, one can always dream…

September 13, 2010 at 15:36 #317385€10 win Salute Him 13/8, €5 e/w Don’t Tell The Boys 10/1
+ €166.51
September 13, 2010 at 19:31 #317404Don’t Tell The Boys dead heated, my initial reaction was that he had got up but it was extremely close. Hit the line together. Only half the win stake returned as a result. + €42.50
Salute Him won in a canter and will more than likely run again later in the week. SP 7/4, + €27.50
+ €256.51
September 13, 2010 at 19:47 #317407I’ve started a thread in the Lays & Plays section for NH bets so I’ll deduct the profit of €98 I made on Listowel bets from this thread.

GREAT STUFF!!! I thought he won too, looked the winner a long way out to me.
Good thing running at Listowel tomorrow? Will the going be OK? Any idea why he missed the QR race a fortnight ago?September 14, 2010 at 10:38 #317471It’s not a bad little maiden urdle is it? Old Charm has always been highly regarded, and Far Away So Close was 9th in the Supreme. I’m thinking of a Supreme Novices bet too, wonder what price he’ll be for tomorrow?
September 14, 2010 at 11:17 #317475He was a NR due to the ground the last day apparently. It was cutting up quite a bit that day, but hopefully yielding will be OK for him. Andy Mac booked to ride.

I didn’t know what price to expect but if the RP tissue is right…. 9/4…..I’ be more than happy.
Can’t see him start as long as that though.
He’s 25-1 for The Supreme, I’d prefer to take than the 10-1 about Cue CardSeptember 15, 2010 at 17:21 #317673It’s not a bad little maiden urdle is it? September 15, 2010 at 20:59 #317712Thanks Imperial, already had a poke at the Supreme but that doesn’t really bother me after he won today! Smart horse, and he had a helluva lot more in hand than the bare margin.
