I just think Bravemansgame is a progressive 3m Park course chaser.
But he was taken out at Cheltenham back in March, similar ground again (unlikely but possible) would be a worry and I’m not sure the longer trip on a stiffer track will suit.
He’s never won at Cheltenham and the latest he’s won a race in any season so far is February.
More of an autumn horse than a spring one?

He was pulled out at Cheltenham.
Don’t think BMG is the model example of a straightforward horse is all i’m saying
Agreed Ian. Wouldn’t have him near me for the GC, that’s for sure.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 30, 2022 at 11:59 #1628859T’would be folly to write off Bravemansgame, imo, who still looks excellent value in the Gold Cup. He has run 3 times in the spring, and only once (this year at Aintree) did he not run to form. On Boxing Day he ran a Racing Post Rating of 177, to equal Galopin Des Champs’s best. Unlike that one, he has never fallen and he will have no trouble staying the trip, to my eye. And I suspect too that he is improving markedly as he matures.
December 30, 2022 at 13:16 #1628871I’d be of the complete opposite view.
Have a look at his formlines throughout the years.
Runs his best around Kempton and the likes.
Comes to Spring and he’s found out, 3 races from 3.
L’Homme Presse beats him at Cheltenham for me, and i’m not even sure he’d be my idea of the winner so that says it all.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 30, 2022 at 15:22 #1628891Jack, he has run 3 times on undulating tracks: 1st of 11 at Exeter: 2nd, btn half length to Soaring Glory at Chepstow, and 3rd in the Ballymore. These were over hurdles and the horse was born to be a chaser, of which he’s making a pretty good fist, beaten just once in 7 races, when having an off day at Aintree. Aside from that bad day at the office (April) how has he been ‘found out’ in his other two? His highest Racing Post Rating over hurdles was 154: his 2 Spring runs over hurdles rated 150 and 151.
There’s little love for the horse, and I’m not sure why. Racing Post ran a poll asking who thought he was value at 10s for the Gold Cup – only 15% thought he was. He’d be 5/1 in my book.
Still, opinions make the racing world go round.
All the best.
JoeDecember 30, 2022 at 18:34 #1628928He,s getting plenty love from me Joe, in my eyes the horse with the best form in the race this year is too big a price , I’ll happily keep playing him , to many questions to ask about to many others just now , I reckon coming to the last it maybe a very similar situation as the KG
