I am just about to go to bed now, and am thinking about the second eventuality. If there’s a loud explosion during the night – I will try to struggle to the bathroom where I will switch the light on and check the mirror.

If the other head is smaller than mine – I will count my blessings and go back to bed.
If it’s bigger than mine I’ll have a really problem with me being a narcissist.

Rather thrown by the headline on The Guardian site this morning:

Russia-Ukraine war latest news: Zelenskiy ‘looking for peace without delay’ as talks to resume

    Have I missed something/

I don’t think my medical advice is being taken seriously here

Anyway drone bought up a good point on the creeps that fawn over Putin. Of course the corbyn left (who can forget his desperation to exonerate Putin from skirpal) are irrelevant now [removed, admin]. But what about the Orange retard and of course his flunkies such as farage ?

Is his support for Putin draining even his base? Lowest crowd ever for one of his rallies apparently

    It should do. He’s filth.

tbh Didn’t know anything about that, sorry Clive.
You’re right about Galloway so I’ll take it back about him (although just confirms he is the nasty little **** I thought he was). He is a “rapist apologist”.

Is there something about Salmond I’ve missed?

No porridge for me as the sentence was:

“I believe firing squads need five members so please add Galloway and the Fat Scottish Perv”

So no potential libelling of Ghastly George and an ambiguous reference to someone else ;-)

No time for either Galloway or Salmond, but the Tories have been awash with Russian money for years.

You are a puzzling one Clive. UK Homeless people / addicts are fair game for you and your friends to sneer at, but your moral compass appears simperingly strong for other pointless things. Do you wear a Ukraine flag lapel badge whilst mocking people living in abject misery? Right on!

“Salmond has been to court on a number of sexual harassment allegations including rape. He was found not guilty on all counts.”

Sorry to nitpick, Big G – but for one charge the jury returned the “not proven” verdict available under Scottish law. Which is in effect treated the same as not guilty but is popularly understood to mean “we think you did it but the prosecution has not proven you did.”

Cork, the “Not Proven” verdict in the eyes of the law is exactly the same as
not guilty. It’s purpose in Scotland is to give the jury the option of not convicting
someone if the jury has “doubts” about his guilt less than having a clear cut view
    of guilty or not guilty.

Anyone who indicates that Salmond, and I keep my view to myself, is guilty of
any offence, when he has been COMPLETELY cleared leaves themselves open to legal
    redress.

Agree, and I believe the jury made the right decision.

    Back to Ukraine.

Personally am more optimistic that a way can be found to stop this war, although it may only come once Russia is in full control of Luhansk and Donbass.
    Along the lines of:

All interested countries – Russia, Ukraine, USA, Britain, EU, neighbours Moldova, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Romania to agree all of the following:

Crimea to be accepted as part of Russia.

For Russia to withdraw completely from Ukraine but to be replaced in Luhansk and Donbass by UN troops. Population of that area to return.
Referendums held in Luhansk and Dombass policed by the UN, with the question: Do you want to be part of Russia or Ukraine? And Russia, Ukraine, USA, Britain and the EU all guaranteeing to accept the outcome.

Ukraine to remain “neutral” by not being “part of NATO. However, NATO (or some bigger countries within NATO) to guarantee Ukraine’s independence. ie If Russia invades Ukraine again then NATO (or countries within NATO) is / are obliged by the treaty to step in themselves to drive Russia out.

Ukraine to be accepted as a member of the EU.

Russia to pay reparations along with money from the West to put Ukraine back together again.

Russia and NATO together with countries neighbouring Russia to start talks on demilitarising the border of Russia and its neighbours, with a safe (no go) zone for any military.

Seems plausible Ginger; Putin needs some sort of face-saving agreement
