I hold various views which would be considered right of centre. Same with left of centre. I analyse the subject at hand, and form my own opinion of what I think is correct.
You can’t just pop people in to neat little boxes to judge them or their views.
BUY THE SUN
February 28, 2022 at 23:35 #1585257100% TTC – I am the same.
All the groups GT lists believe in different things.
Putting them all in the same “the left” box because the one thing they have in common is not being Conservative is risible in the extreme.
GT really lets himself down when he does this – I have come to expect confrontational nonsense from some here, but not GT.
He’s capable of far better than this.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 28, 2022 at 23:45 #1585258So now you want me each time to go through all the different groups on the left that “the left” in any particular case does not or may not or in theory does / may not apply to…
And yet still do a “shorter” post.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 23:49 #1585259The Left / Ian lets itself / himself down by being too pedantic.
It’s not “confrontational” ffecks sake.
I myself am centre right and more centre than right. So on some things am more Labour than Conservative.
And yet I don’t moan whenever someone describes me in with “the right” or “Conservative”.I’ve been told am not saying enough about what I mean in one post and then when I do it’s too much…
And all in the space of a day.Just have to fight Putin myself.
Value Is EverythingMarch 1, 2022 at 00:28 #1585262Just have to fight Putin myself.
Gingertipster, 2000/1.
Putin, No offers.I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysMarch 1, 2022 at 00:39 #1585264From Ginge (again) “Which was my point about the Left castigating Lizz Truss at this time.
So we agree. ”
No we nowhere do agree, any right minded person right/left /centre would recognise her
as a liability. Because erm,,,,she’s a liability.Jeez Ginge, you’ve got an absolute obsession for the left. I never listen or read something
from someone and think, which side is he/she on. I think, that’s a good idea, I’m not sure
about that one or WTF is he/she talking about.I hate pigeonholing. NOBODY has all the right answers, the right aren’t always right, or wrong
and the same goes for the left. I even hate talking in this outdated stupid way. Just listen
and make your own view, don’t taint it before it comes out of someones mouth!March 1, 2022 at 01:46 #1585265This doesn’t look good. A 40 mile stretch of Russian heavy artillery headed into
Ukraine. Either Putin has done it to effect a total surrender, or it’s worse.March 1, 2022 at 06:48 #1585266I guess I could lump in all Conservatives – from One Nation to Thatcherite – UKIP, and Far Right organisations like Britain First and call them all “The Right,” after all, they’re all anti-Labour.
But I don’t – because it would be ridiculous.
And that’s what anyone who throws around terms like “the left” and “the right” looks.
As for what’s happening now, as usual the British media make me shake my head.
It’s all a big game about plucky Ukrainians – except these are real people dying against overwhelming force – and even worse, feel good stories about what Brits are doing to help (all meaningless token stuff).
Whatever the global catastrophe, here’s a chance to feel good – about OURSELVES.
The economic sanctions have clearly rattled Putin – he wasn’t expecting anything on this scale, the West hurting itself to hurt him, and the big unknown is how he will react: escalate or appease.
Escalate looks long odds on at the moment.

Like the runner at Wolverhampton last night where the jockey wore a change of colours to blue and yellow.
If that does not make Putin think twice, nothing will.
March 1, 2022 at 07:20 #1585271Exactly – whenever I see stuff like that I just think “yeah that will really help (not).”

The sneering is pathetic and maybe telling…..
The Russian public rebelling and the upper echelons there deposing Putin (and hopefully killing him.. hang from a lamppost with crows pecking his eyes out maybe?) would be by far the best outcome
The message that they are complete pariahs must be sent constantly and emphatically
No one anywhere wants to be hated
Aside from bigoted extreme left and right on Twitter (and even there it’s quite rare ) this is the only place I’ve seen hostility to the public support for Ukraine
Disgusting frankly
March 1, 2022 at 08:18 #1585277Oh and those who obsess picking holes In the western response (Liz truss.. wah wah wah) but strangely have little to say about Putin…
We see you

I doubt Putin was watching the 7.30 at Wolverhampton last night.
The only things that will help are economic and sporting sanctions that hurt and military action. And NATO has already ruled out the latter.
March 1, 2022 at 08:38 #1585281You don’t get it
Read what I said
March 1, 2022 at 10:24 #1585288I see that the following have taken steps to not release major films in Russia.
Excellent news as pre-covid over 219 million people a year attended the cinema.
“I doubt Putin was watching the 7.30 at Wolverhampton last night.” – probably not but this might get his attention.
March 1, 2022 at 11:29 #1585290I did read what you said Clive “Aside from bigoted extreme left and right on Twitter
(and even there it’s quite rare ) this is the only place I’ve seen hostility to the
public support for Ukraine Disgusting frankly”Clive, you can find whtever you want on twitter including pro and anti Russian comments.
I can’t recall seeing 1 pro Russian comment on here.Nobody in here wants Putin to have his way, but to state that he has the forces, military
machinery and technology, not to mention the biggest army in the world, is not pro Putin
or Russia, it’s a fact.Gestures which fill the British press are for the British people, do you think Putin reads
them or even cares. The man is a psychopath, in the proper sense of the word. His unemotional
quiet controlled manner and obvious disregard for human life make him extremely dangerous and
difficult to deal with because he doesn’t care and will do whatever he has to. The west don’t
want anything to do with this, sanctions apart, and any amount of solidarity gestures for the
Ukraine will have no effect on him, because he doesn’t care.Your response to anyone who doesn’t simply see the Ukranians doing well and holding back the
Russian forces is that they are a supporter of Putin. The fact is, if this just goes to war
without negotiated settlement, the Ukranians will lose. So I guess you’ll say I’m a Putin
supporter for simply saying the obvious. Not one person on here wants Putin to take over Ukraine, but without help from the west, which
won’t come, it is inevitable. Anything else is just sticking your head in the sandMarch 1, 2022 at 11:50 #1585291What are you talking about? Completely missed the point
Try reading what I said first.
actually don’t bother. you are boring me
