I should have added in Ginge that it is, as I said, very understandable that men with
connections to Ukraine would consider travelling to the Ukraine. In just the same way that
it’s understanbable that tens of thousands of men in Ukraine are currently fleeing it. Not
sure how good a sign that is for the Brits heading over.February 28, 2022 at 18:36 #1585200“The point is that Truss’s incompetence offered him a distraction. That’s what you get for sending an imbecile like her into a sensitive diplomatic situation”.
As I said earlier on this thread, Lizz (Cheese) Truss is far from my favourite Conservative. Just think the Left could tone it down a bit.
Fact is if Putin made the Nuclear statement just because of a little comment by the British Foreign Minister, then that in itself shows he is increasingly mentally unstable.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 18:41 #1585201At least better news from FIFA… eventually.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 18:50 #1585203The ever gullible left would believe Putin if he blamed truss for Stalingrad
February 28, 2022 at 19:25 #1585210Fully expecting the Ukraine and Russkies to announce a deal regarding Ukraines huge available quantity of Natural Gas – Russia to get it out of the ground for them, not Shell or other Western-owned (based in NATO countries) companies such as Shell.
Profit sharing percentages of distribution profits get agreed – Roman / Vlad and the boys trouser even more wedge, the violence stops. They should just get on with it.
They should fly me in to bang some heads together!

Putin is increasingly unstable. I don’t think he used to be, albeit obviously a psychopath, narcissist etc but generally politically savvy up till recently. Crimea was a warning but Ukraine shows he’s gone full bonkers. Clearly something has happened and there’s no point even speculating as we probably won’t ever know what. This makes it even more vital that anyone representing the UK understands the power of statements like “we support British citizens going to Ukraine to fight Russia”. It’s in breach of international law as we’re not (yet) at war with Russia. Putin’s minions are all over the media trying to excuse the invasion by citing the West’s behaviour elsewhere. Truss must be kept far away from this crisis. In fact, best that the UK stays out of it altogether until we finally have some adults in charge (whatever side of the political spectrum that may be – personally I think we’ve reached the stage where a government of national unity is required. We need the best people in charge now and, frankly, there are very few of them in Westminster and no more than one or two in the Cabinet – if that).
Good news on FIFA (eventually) and the Orkney tanker at least.
February 28, 2022 at 20:19 #1585224“Useful idiots” was the phrase used by Stalin or Lenin was it?

Oh yeh, that Putin bloke abides by International Law therefore so should we.
If I was a British citizen with Ukrainian connections I’d rightly be saying “feck international law”!
…And you want British Police to stop him from going.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 20:46 #1585226Great Decision by Fifa.
Saved me the trouble Tonge, nicely done.
From the Independant ….
“The defence secretary has urged British volunteers not to fight in Ukraine, one day after
Liz Truss welcomed them joining the “struggle” against Russia’s invasion.”Ginge “As I said earlier on this thread, Lizz (Cheese) Truss is far from my favourite
Conservative. Just think the Left could tone it down a bit.”Ginge this is much more important than a left or right struggle, nobody wants Putin
to have his way. Please give the “left” finger pointing a by during this, it matters
not a sh+t.February 28, 2022 at 20:50 #1585228Interesting article in The Guardian about how much Ukraine’s leader has achieved simply by using his mobile phone.
Western leaders in awe of him, apparently.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 28, 2022 at 21:14 #1585232They are not disappearing completely, alas – but at least we will be seeing a bit less of those blasted meerkats:
And going back to an earlier point, the article also mentions how food companies are being asked to rename Chicken Kiev to Chicken Kyiv.
February 28, 2022 at 21:17 #1585233His popularity has gone from 33% to 90% during this conflict Ian. He seems to be doing

So we agree.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 22:42 #1585238The left this, the left that. Change the record, it’s boring. Fact is the the vast majority of people despise this man and want this situation over as soon as possible. He’s actually done a lot to unite people in a way.
The only admiration tends to come from far left or right which as has correctly been pointed out are the same thing.

It really is – anyone, not just here on this forum, who uses such clumsy, broad brush, sweeping, generalisations isn’t really worth reading tbh.
The campaign for shorter, more specific, postings starts here….

Ok what about…
“voters / politicians of / for Labour, SNP, Green, Liberal, Welsh Nationalists, Trotskyists, Communists, marxists, Daily Mirror, Guardian, Morning Star, Independent / I readers. Oh, forgot the TV channels…Oh dear, that’s not going to be short enough…
You’re not making this easy for me.
What can I say that’s short?
Oh I know…
“The Left”.
