Richard finding the part of the sky bet page for drop goals would test the patience of a saint!!

3+ successful drop goals in the match @ 50/1
    RequestABet Specials 33/1 to 66/1
    England v South Africa
    Recommend £11
Owen farrell to score 10+ points at 3/1
    Maximum stake £10
Owen farrell to score 10 plus points at 6/4
    £25.
A drop goal to be scored in match @ 5/2
Two + drop goals to be scored in match @ 12/1
As you can see my input into this game is very drop goal oriented!!!!!
I do think it will be a much lower scoring game than any match so far and goal kicking will be of the essence to England and South Africa. Kicking over ten points is on the extreme of the points range of this particular match I hope I’m wrong as my bets are lined up to buck that likelihood.

The good thing is that if the DGs do start raining down then so will the Farrell points as a result.

I do not see us scoring more than one or maybe two tries if we’re lucky. We will have to kick our way to victory and if the penalties don’t come then get Farrell in the pocket and have a pop.

    Absolutely Richard.
    I’ve slightly revised my bets
I wanted more on 3/1 Owen Farrell but it is restricted to £10.
I’ve found Farrell at 6/5 to score 9 points plus and if England have a very bad day I’d say three converted kicks at goal would be about right. So that is a maximum win bet.
The smaller bets are as above but not the 6/4 bet.
Unless Farrell is sent off or injured I can’t see him not having about five or four kicks at goal.
For some reason I cannot get into the racing today so I’ll wait until Wolverhampton for another bet.

Odds against for 9 points is more than fair. I’d make that odds on. As you say it’s only injury or a moment of madness that’ll cost you. I do not see any Sexton style kick everything to the corner unless we are being pumped. Any points on offer will be gladly taken.

The handicap is a funny one at 13. I think it either gets annihilated like NZ did yesterday or the match is really close either way. I don’t really see a moderate SA victory.

I am being really strict about not punting but bet365 do give you free bets if you jump through enough hoops. I’ve had a small go on England DG as first scoring play in the match at 25/1. They don’t have as many markets as Skybet does so can’t do anything I mentioned before. It’ll probably be down with an early penalty one way or the other but it’s worth a couple of free nuggets.

Wise head, Richard on being strict re punting. Overlooked upcoming midweek matches this morning when reviewing my Championship selections. Need to be more selective in my postings!

Easy to forget the silly unforced errors by the French last week which helped SA no end. England won’t be so profligate tonight you would imagine but the sheer heft of that African Buffalo pack should win the day for the Boks.

England winning the kicks forward and intersects maybe the Boks don’t like the rain which is very England.
Mahler looks to have lost a stone must be the hair cut but he’s having good first six mins.

Easiest maximum winning bet of the tournament so far.
Farrell doing what I thought he would but England have served it up to South Africa. A little less lip and South Africa wouldn’t have scored a point yet.
But the big physchological battle has been the subbing.
It’s a cold Guinness out of a bottle tonight extra stout original. Lovely. Come on sky pay up you tight wads 💰 💰

    Thank you 🙏 tight wads.
South Africa falling apart at the moment and there won’t be much love in their changing room at half time. Before I say anything about what’s likely to go down in the next ten minutes, I’ve just noticed that it is half time between Sheffield utd and Manchester United
Manchester will add two goals this half but both sides capable of a shot from outside the box and I recommend the following
Manchester United & Sheffield United each to have 2+ Shots on Target from Outside the Area (1 each so far)
That bet would you believe is odds against with sky.
With the sad news of the loss of Sir Bobby Charlton I’m expecting today’s players to get a couple of goals in honour of the great man. It’s incredibly sad to see his passing and he was the first player I noticed at my first ever football match as a tiny lad when they came to Portman road and I thought why is that man bald Dad, because he’s not old is he?

Just keep kicking goals !!! Another £70 :good:

South Africa have changed half the team and if you are a top player who never goes off you are not going to be happy and the coach has truely lost the plot.
Mahler has played the game of his life as has steward

Hard luck England! True grit and character almost shone through. Didn’t deserve to lose.

Master stroke bringing George ford on for last two minutes.
A great game and few points scored in the second half. Drop goal paid handsomely and a massive few quid won tonight.
I banged on about it today but in the main I’ve respected the coach and left him to get on with picking the team. Borthwick must have a huge issue with Ford. But to bother sending him on with the clock on zero was pointless it wasn’t so much a throw of the dice but a tacit reluctant addmission that he was TOTALLY wrong not to play him from the start. Massive error which cost the team dearly. They’ve got to the semi final but they didn’t go on to dominate the second half instead negatively kicked the ball away instead of going into the 22 and attempting to come away with points.
Great game but I won’t watch England playing Rugby until Shaun Edward’s gets the gig they shunned the guy because of his background and he turned them down when the opportunity came second hand. He’s the best Rugby coach going and he could mange this outfit’s tactical ineptness but most importantly he can man manage players. As I said it didn’t matter where either players played but Smith Farrell and Ford were the half back spine of the side and all had to play to win the match.
If this guy stays in charge they will remain gallant losers.
I’m glad I didn’t back England to lose and there were tonnes of positives to take out of the match especially the retiring Mahler and full back steward but you could see the massive impact the blond scrum half made for the Boks and the ruthless decision to change the entire team finally paid off and the only key change for Us was scrum half until Ford came on by which time the game was lost. Without leadership the best teams lose. SHAUN EDWARDS come on down.

Absolutely gutted. Could have gone either way.

That SA scrum was basically a guaranteed penalty by the end and Pollard is essentially a guaranteed three if it’s anywhere in the England half.

Definitely get Edwards in, he wouldn’t stand for that defending for the try.

Surprised it’s opened Evens Stevens for the final. I’d have that mobile NZ pack at 4/5 after tonight.

Cannot see nz losing next Saturday after that. They have been slow burning right through the tournament. Ireland will be kicking themselves all the way home they are the best side but didn’t take the tactical obvious choice last week and look at how the draw has unfolded. NZ have no fears and South Africa coach has opened up a few trust issues here. They did it well tonight but team selection meetings during the week will be intriguing as will training where places will be up for grabs. That means injuries not sustained in play will be taken on board in the week. This totally means advantage New Zealand. Going back to joburg pre World Cup final vs South Africa.?New Zealand entire squad got the “squits” due to food poisoning from a MacDonald’s in much the same way the Arsenal squad suffered prior to a derby match when eating at a Spurs restaurant.
New Zealand have their team settled and picked and are a day fresher. Can’t lose.
Just worked out That Steve Borthwick was George Fords coach at Leicester tigers prior to him leaving club for sale sharks and therein lies the mysterious problem over his non selection and cynical deployment when he could have no impact on the match. It’s clearly a personal issue and when a coach allows personal issues to spill over it becomes a conflict of interest and if the coach can’t manage it he has to go.
I think there is a big problem there luckily for Borthwick Ford will likely call it a day at international level as he is 30 years old. I’m pretty certain Ford’s Dad was involved in the coaching set up surrounding his son and there has likely been a big big clash with Borthwick just conjecture of course but those are the vibes I get from all of this and if I’m right it has cost England a place in the final.
