Wales struggled against an enthusiastic Portuguese team and Ireland have a challenge on here.
Tonga vs Ireland 8pm
However if they play to their tactics and drill correctly they can uphold their status as number 1 ranked side.
At a push Ireland may be able to score 20 points in both half’s
The bet is available at 11/4 may go down quite early but we will see.September 16, 2023 at 21:56 #1663381Tonga +40.5
Festival of free money continues and perhaps Tonga can win some tooSeptember 16, 2023 at 22:12 #1663386Not to be for Tonga on an impressive night for the Emerald Isle.
The best performance of the World Cup so far. Bet paid @ 5/4 not bigger as I had hoped, but welcome all the same.
Interesting that the Irish took fifteen to get into stride in each stanza and built patiently unlike all other teams excepting South Africa who are up next.September 16, 2023 at 22:13 #1663387Outside of racing and football which must account for the vast, vast majority of bookies’ turnover, there are still genuine opportunities if you know your sport of choice and you certainly seem to know your rugby Sam

I’ve enjoyed these mismatches more than I thought I would to be honest. I think Australia v Fiji could be another cracker too. I just hope Japan aren’t getting any ideas from these spirited underdog performances.
September 17, 2023 at 08:31 #1663424Japan are far better than most reckon Richard. They are cash rich like France and have deep deep grounding in Rugby Union over many decades.
They beat South Africa and have turned over a few top teams. Size is not an issue as they have a few naturalised players in their line up.
Should be a game where both sides stick to the basics ridgedly tonight and be ready for more drop goals and I’ll be having two quid on a drop goal to start proceedings tonight.September 17, 2023 at 12:10 #1663449Here we go again for week two of the festival of free money.
We will know by half time today if the good times continue to roll.
South Africa face Romania today and while the entire team has been changed, the reserves are all up to the task and are no dirt trackers.
With Ireland already racking up a cricket score against this team the Boks could be forgiven for trying to beat the scoreline. It would prove nothing and key players are rested today in preparation for the clash next week of the worlds top two teams.
Last night Ireland managed to break their points target (admittedly a low one) despite a fifteen minute gap needed in each half to do so.
As you may or may not know many of the “innovations “ you will see in this Rugby World Cup are shamelessly copied from rugby league. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I’ll list a few of them before tonight’s Japan match.South Africa to score five + tries in each half @ 11/8
I think they can manage this today and if they don’t they will go very close.September 17, 2023 at 16:42 #1663474Australia vs Fiji 4:45 pm
Chance of some surprises here but this game gets a watching brief with one exception.Semi Radradra to score a try at anytime 7/4
September 17, 2023 at 18:21 #1663479Fiji going great guns and more points look to be coming
Fiji (-10.5) @ 4/5
Match Handicap
Australia 8 v 19 FijiSeptember 17, 2023 at 19:06 #1663483More points came but Australia also found some points. A great win for Fiji. Wish I had got on that one!!
With canny South Africa resting the entire team and still bolting up, Ireland have a mountain to climb if they are carrying injuries and they would do well to assess their points requirements and look to choosing their battles with reaching the final in mind…..The festival of free money continues this evening as England play Japan best bets for the match here
September 17, 2023 at 19:21 #1663485England fans ought not get over excited about tonight’s match.
England have to get down to work and work out some set plays and try and do things properly tonight.
Japan have a long history and have come a long way in their standard of play over the years.
They are no pushover.
I do think the following may happen tonight provided they respect their opponents. I’m not sure any winning margin is going to be very big. There are plenty of decent players in the Japanese side and their strength is they play the game properly.England To Win Each Half By 10+ Points (WAS 6/4) @ 3/1
First scoring play
England penalty 6/4
England drop goal 20/1
One more bet about the tries that England may manage over the match in each half at a push the offer of England scoring three tries in each half.ENGLAND TO SCORE 3 PLUS TRIES IN EACH HALF @ 3/1
(Small stakes because first half will be tight with lots and lots of kicking)* A bit of a worry to see George Ford’s Dad interviewed and showing George interviewed with misty videos of young George playing as a kid. Let’s get this in perspective England won a group match against Argentina. They didn’t beat New Zealand or South Africa and are not in the final! “ We’ve always been Rugby mad”
“Dad played professional Rugby.”You can say the words “RUGBY LEAGUE” without anyone having a coronary in sw12.
The worry is that if complacency sets in England will be back where they started.September 17, 2023 at 20:01 #1663486I have been too hungover/tired to post anything meaningful today but great win for Fiji and those two bonus points from the Wales game looking very valuable. Superb performance, especially a week after spunking the win in the last seconds.
Agree Japan are not to be taken lightly and whilst I think we’ll ultimately take the win, it could be uncomfortable for a while. Best of luck with your punts.
September 17, 2023 at 20:39 #1663488Thanks Richard, I said they had to simply do the basics, but because they have badly underestimated these guys, they are under huge pressure. This is truely poor and they have reverted to type. Glad I did the penalty bet, but as soon as they opted to take it I knew the try bet was a loser.
September 17, 2023 at 20:53 #1663492A lot of sloppy play from England and better teams would be taking advantage. Japan have made some errors of their own though including for the try.
September 17, 2023 at 20:59 #1663493Two try scoring opportunities for the Japanese which has cost them the match. I’m appalled to be honest ( about England decision making) because it is basic rugby tactics. Sir Clive Woodward said exactly what I’ve been thinking the decision not to set and scrum and take a penalty in the first breakdown was crazy. For him to say that on camera is an indictment on Steve borthwick because he has no communication with the pitch because the instructions should go down via the water boys to make the correct calls in these situations.
The presence of joe Mahler and Sinckler is the big suprise as tactical thinking with these two players is a real problem.Total change of tactics in this coming forty I think.
September 17, 2023 at 21:10 #1663494Japan to score 1+ try @ evens.
September 17, 2023 at 21:28 #1663495You should probably have had it there, this England performance is beyond frustrating.
September 17, 2023 at 22:07 #1663498Well a win is a win and they did at least keep going for the bonus point, not that it should come into play.
I do not think the big boys will have seen anything that worries them though. Japan somewhat disappointing too, they committed too many errors of their own.
