That try has probably done you some good Sam, despite the fact that it looked forwards in real time so how the TMO and ref decided otherwise on slo mo is beyond me  But it does mean we need points so hopefully a quick ten at the very least.

In the absence of entertainment I’ll take ten England points each half!

On the positive side ford is on the pitch but so many other things I could have done this evening!! A late win for Argentina at 2/1 I reckon.
England had the option to be about ten points clear by now and kicked all thier ball away. With the dissent to come Argentina’s to lose.

Not sure which is in more trouble after that England or the game of Rugby Union! Lucky with that bet!

Very bloody lucky zil. Not sure what I’ve just seen.
What I forgot is this is a final. And there’s bill beaumont dishing out the gongs I’ve spoken to the guy on the blower through his business. ( about imports and exports). Many of these lads are retiring now and winning was mostly top of the list and I should not begrudge them that. Well done guys.
I’ve done very well too first try scorer.
The massive Rick identified as the ten points by England in each half reflected by an awful display but landed. My biggest bet of the tournament. I was also on the losing team on the handicap line by the narrowest of margins +3.5.
We can forget the elephants in the room now and having secured third place the coach is in place for five years I’m afraid. But England have a choice because otherwise both seaward and Arundell will be playing football elsewhere most likely in Sydney. Imaging having two top footballers in either wing who essentially didn’t touch the ball the entire match. It’s like having Pandora’s box with a padlock on it. 🔐

They were 4/1 with about 10 minutes to go, thought that was massive, a try and it was all but game over

You have to laugh, after the worst build up I’ve ever seen, England won six out of seven and the loss was one point. Yet, not even one of the top five sides in it, just about in the top eight. Funny old game.

    My Ratings
1 South Africa 🇿🇦 ( defending champions attempting to retain trophy and win for a fourth time)
2 New Zealand 🇳🇿 ( attempting to win for fourth time and inaugural winners)
    3 Ireland 🇮🇪 ( clear third ranked)
    4. France 🇫🇷 vying with the kiwis for the moniker of “Brazil of Rugby” and by getting turned over as host nation as early as the first knockout les boys have readily taken up that mantle. Like South Africa camp split along racial lines.
    5. wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
    6. England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ( deserved third place overall and nearly beat South Africa, but scraped home against sprited but bang average sides. very poor tactical play in key positions – coach and fly half both need replacing if team is to avoid defeat to all teams including Italy in six nations! bronze medalists and top tier nation only in name).
The feedback I’ve seen from pundits and fans alike centres around a disallowed try keeping the teams closer together. My take, that was coming regardless and had been coming since the first half.
7 Argentina (huge reservoir of talent coming to boil and all but beat the red rose yesterday)
    Portugal
    Samoa
    Fiji
    Scotland
    7 Australia 🇦🇺
Summary England look incapable of taking the next step and Freddy seaward looks to be the full back going forward and smith is the scrum half there is a slot to be filled on the wing and it is pointless having a big lad like Arundell freezing on the wing. centres or put him in at flanker. In any other team he’d be making runs and multiple tackles. Top three six nations sides are Ireland France wales even Scotland are capable of knuckling down and grabbing fourth spot. That’s right England are on the ground wrestling with Italy for the wooden spoon. That is the trajectory of mediocrity they are currently on. They barely beat two lower tier opponents yet had South Africa on the rack but talked and kicked themselves out of contention.

Ok that ranking will be updated prior to the kick off tonight as I may have left a nation or two out of the equation based on their performances in France 🇫🇷.
The whipping boys and major underachieving nation were of course the wannabees 🦘 🇦🇺 Who even made an obscure video about croissants 🥐 which came back to bite them on the behind.
I’ve said enough about England who were drawn and seeded to reach the semi’s and had they had the opportunity to play natural enemies France might just have made it through.

But tonight is the biggest match of the festival of free money 💰 and one can draw many comparisons with the coup de monde in Qatar last winter.
Yes this match may well go into overtime if the boys in the bunker have their way.
Controversial?, me? Of course that is what has got me providing winning tips of up to 16/1 round after round and here comes some more.
If you’ve followed the thread you really ought to be a few hundred quid to the good and todays bets are only going to be about consolidating that profit, nothing else so basically the bird has flown the cash is banked and a little is set aside for some fun bets.

The bets this match could well be heading for extra time.
We have two evenly matched sides who have sought to score freely and entertain mostly certainly South Africa and France provided a match worthy of the final in the last eight. Both kiwis and springboks have provided tries and entertainment all the way and new zealous recovered from a first match mauling to remain unbeaten after that game and are narrow favourites.
Two things are going to happen world champion side South Africa will rally and having had a week together, reaffirm their relationships with each other and work together again and put in another masterclass trouble is if they allow the all blacks free reign they may find themselves out of touch. The New Zealanders have long memories and back in the days of the great Jonah Lomu the team had a nasty experience in joburg ahead of the rainbow 🌈 nations epic win.
The team feasted on McDonald’s pre match and predictably Delhi belly ensued and few players could travel beyond their hotel bathrooms with any confidence. It certainly contributed to the loss and most of the team under performed that day. So here are tonight’s bets

No max bets and stakes are listed with the bets.

    Each team 2+ tries @ 5/6
    £15
    New Zealand v South Africa

    Each team 2+ tries @ 5/6
    £30

    Will Jordan @ 5/4
    Anytime Tryscorer
    £ 15
    Will Jordan @ 6/1
To Score 2 Or More tries
    £7

Post or crossbar to be hit by any conversion, penalty or drop kick attempt @ 2/1
    £24

This is my favourite bet of all of these as there will be plenty of long range kicks and my knowledge of goal kicking comes in here. When lining up a tricky conversion or penalty or drop goal, what on earth do these dopey odds compilers imagine we are using to line up our shots at goal??? That’s right we are using the goalposts. That is why this is a banger of a bet and may well come  up . The wetter and windier the better for this to come in.The goal attempts from the touchline and long range kicks are the ones to watch out for because of the narrowing of the angles and the range falling short.

    Man of the Match
    Will Jordan @ 14/1
    £7
    Faf de Klerk @ 25/1
    £4

South Africa Drop Goal @ 33/1
    First Scoring Play

New Zealand Drop Goal @ 33/1
    First Scoring Play
    Both £2

    Half time/ full time
    New Zealand / Draw @ 66/1
    South Africa/ draw @ 66/1
    Both £2

    Drawn Match @ 18/1
    Match Result

Diego Wins at Donny and 2nd half Most Points in final. 5/1 double not bad value! (1/2 pt)

I’ve got a free couple of nuggets in bet365 so I’ve put them on the draw at 20/1. It’s surely going to be close so the price seems fair.

Apart from 2nd half most points what has tickled my fancy in terms of value is NZ and < 41 total points @ 5/2 ie backing ref to interfere and slow down final like in many other matches. NZ pack is a force of nature and team are probably fitter and wilier. Granted SA are easier on the eye and a SA win would be better for game.
