March 31, 2022 at 05:24 #1590462Jesus she,s got some lovely owners ….. If she was mine after what she,s done she,d have a stable for life
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 31, 2022 at 05:32 #1590467Yes, HDLTG, some owners really disappoint you.
March 31, 2022 at 06:10 #1590468She’s an 8yo mare with a paddock value – maybe they simply don’t want to breed from her and are offering her to anyone who wants that opportunity?

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 31, 2022 at 11:10 #1590473This explains the thought process.
Good communication by the owners.
It's with a heavy heart we came to the decision to sell PTKO. She has been an absolute legend on the track, giving us days we could never have imagined, making history becoming the first mare to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase. She is the only mare alive to have won an Open.. https://t.co/XDy2JejLJW

March 31, 2022 at 11:52 #1590477Some owners are only interested in the racing side – so good luck to them. Others want the full racing/breeding experience. Not sure why some on Twitter are getting worked up…..The owners have even explained why.
March 31, 2022 at 12:00 #1590478Forum whip-round? 🤔
March 31, 2022 at 13:30 #1590484I wish we could Glad
Can we keep up to date with this story and find out who buys her?
I think she would make a fabulous brood mare and really wish her well and hope she finds a happy home.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 31, 2022 at 15:14 #1590495Will certainly keep my eye out to see who buys her

March 31, 2022 at 19:55 #1590522Great training performance by HDB; really maxed out her results considering her perhaps modest ability
March 31, 2022 at 19:59 #1590523befair, I get the point you are making and agree with it, but no horse that wins the races that Put The Kettle On did could be described as having “modest” ability. That is very harsh!
March 31, 2022 at 20:58 #1590537You are right Marlingford; apologies to PTKO.
March 31, 2022 at 21:36 #1590539Sorry for my pedantry befair!
March 31, 2022 at 22:37 #1590549“‘She was a queen on the track and can be a queen off it’ – chase ace to be sold | Horse Racing News | Racing Post”
March 31, 2022 at 22:42 #1590551Like Epatante, I would say Put The Kettle On needed every ounce of the IMO generous 7lb gender allowance to secure Cheltenham Festival victory.
Definitely talented, but hardly one of the true greats of the game.
The fuss about her sale has been misplaced as already stated – Grade 1-winning 8yo mare with plenty of breeding years in her on offer to any breeder who wants her and can afford her….nothing to see here.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 31, 2022 at 22:48 #1590554If PTKO could voice her thoughts, I wonder what she’d like to be doing in the future? On the one hand, waddling around a paddock pregnant half the time does not sound a lot of fun, but perhaps animals’ natural urge to procreate means this is exactly what she’d like to be doing.
April 1, 2022 at 00:02 #1590560PTKO has lost her form badly and is pretty obvious connections think the chance of getting her back to form isn’t good. Plus you’ve got the fact even at her best she’s a long way behind this season’s champions. So for owners that have no interest in breeding not only is selling her perfectly fine, it is really the best thing for “Racing”. Look forward to seeing PTKO’s progeny.
