What a disaster, the Champion hurdle at Punchestown was the one race where we could finally assess the true class of Samcro, and eliminate the hype.
The winner Supasundae equalled his best speed figure of 129, which puts him only 7lbs behind Buveur D’Air best figure of 136, what Melon or Samcro would have achieved against the clock in this race we will only have to guess.
Going allowance -0.87s/f (soft).

April 28, 2018 at 10:16 #1352341Having a cut at one at a big price today in the 2m 4f hcap hurdle – C’est Jersey at 50/1. After a poor Cheltenham run last season he came here to win over today’s course and distance, beating Battleford.
He’s yet to win in four starts this term but I think he’s had excuses when beaten. He made his seasonal debut in a beginners chase behind Kemboy where he was a clear second, nothing wrong with that effort. He was then pitched into graded company, again over fences, at Navan where he jumped badly right and was pulled up. Back over hurdles, he never got involved when well beaten in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham, and he since ran 5th of 20 in desperate ground at Fairyhouse.
That was an improved effort and if he can step even a little forward again, on a course we know suits him, he can hopefully get involved.
April 28, 2018 at 14:33 #1352408Merie devie and Twomeys in the bumper my only 2 plays today.
Merie Devie for me is getting her best trip now in my opinion.
Twomey loves preparing a horse for a quick sale.- this ones a small bet as its a bumper with so many unknowns.
Faheys ran a brilliant debut yesterday, and the word was right, he’s going to be a decent hors i think

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 28, 2018 at 14:34 #1352409Decent bet on Apple’s Jade 13/8 in the mares, Daklondike 13/2 in the 5pm & Spades Are Trumps 20/1 5.35pm.
April 28, 2018 at 16:01 #1352425Annoying you can’t quote anymore or it looks like aftertiming. Though top of the page I did put my selections.
Josies Orders and BDD have won. Love the latter. She’s been my best winner of the season with Cheltenham antepost and now that. Love her. No idea why she went off 3/1 but I’ll take the BOG. Race two my horse was a non runner.
On Farclas in the next 9/4. A tough betting race though.
April 28, 2018 at 16:09 #1352428Apple’s Jade not the mare she was at the moment. Strong rumours of kissing spines look to be true, hope they can get her back.
April 28, 2018 at 16:11 #1352429Yeah, Apple’s Jade should have blown that lot away. Something clearly not right.
April 28, 2018 at 17:05 #1352434Degaussed – BDD is a top class mare who could turn out to be better than AJ at her best. We don’t know yet. I disagree AJ should blow her away.
April 28, 2018 at 17:28 #1352435I’m joining you on C’est Jersey Tommy for the reasons you mention.
April 28, 2018 at 17:33 #1352437Agree MOM- very hard to say “she should have blown that lot away” when BDD is very unexposed over hurdles, and in GB/IRE in general.
I expected Apples to win today, but BDD was arguably more impressive today again. Granted the race panned out nicely for her. She really could be anything, especially over fences.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 28, 2018 at 17:36 #1352439My last bet of the festival was Dream Berry last night and I see late money is coming for him.
Win or lose, it’s been a great week of punting for me. About bloody time after the shockers of Aintree and (to a lesser extent) Cheltenham.
April 28, 2018 at 17:48 #1352442I was on Meri Devie at 23s and I think some of you too!
Cracking winner!April 28, 2018 at 18:28 #1352449Yep, I was on Merie Devie (win only) and C’est Jersey (EW at 40s). And also remembered Wounded Warrior. Not a bad Festival at all….
Good tipping guys and this applies to (almost) everyone on this forum!
April 29, 2018 at 09:48 #1352503Well done all, was on Meri Devie too thankfully. Des did his best to convince me into thinking it was the other Wylie horse tho!
Good week was had!
