I would love to see Pinatubo back to last year’s scintillating form, but
this year hasn’t quite gone to plan and 4/6 is too short for me. I think
that Alson should come on from his run last month and
looked pretty decent last year. 11/1 with bet365 looks
    too big to me.

Agree Pinatubo to short to back so have gone Each Way 8/1 Molatham.

Really hoping to see Pinatubo back to his scintilating best today.

For a 7f race he had a mountain to climb but the little pocket rocket is back. :yahoo:

Lope y Fernández ran a cracker there

Gives us more of an idea of how siskin stacks up with kameko, wichita and pinatubo

Siskin went past him much much easier than pinatubo did

Though pinatubo looked slightly taken off his feet in the first furlong but his class came through

    Royal crusade saves my day

Buick gave him plenty to do but the money was down and he won fairly cosily in the end

His 2yo form with threat and coming 6th in the commonwealth Cup meant this was a very winnable race for him

Yes very well done FF with Royal Crusade :good:

Absolutely delighted to see Pinatubo look like the horse of last year.
It looks like the Sussex Stakes next and the 100/30 with Paddy Power looks
    fairly decent value to me.

Could be one of the races of the season if pinatubo, siskin and mohaather all run

It looks like Pinatubo is unlikely to run in the Sussex. Appleby says he will speak to
Sheikh Mohammed but feels the horse may be best having a break.

Just watched it back, not a fan atall, hes a bang average group 1 horse, will never win a mile group 1 again in britain and i think thats one of the worst group 1s youll ever see

Cant wait for him to run in the uk again over 8f so he can be properly taken off the 120+ rating

Id be surprised if siskin didnt beat him out of sight/double digit lengths

Also wouldnt be surprised if he mysteriously gets retired after that Group 1 win to salvage his stallion career

He was already close to being fully developed as a 2 year old

I’d call Pinatubo a good group 1 horse at the moment. His best trip looks like its the 7f. Gets outstayed over a proper or stiff mile. Fair enough, they tried a step up to a proper mile early on and he got placed. Doesn’t make him a ‘bang average’ group 1 horse in my opinion.

He’s clearly a good horse but he’s now run 3 times this year and I’d say he’s run to the same level each time

Since hes not progressing winning other group 1s will be very hard unless they place him perfectly

Just how i read it mike, no denying Hes a good horse, not anywhere near a 120 horse, last 3 runs probably somewhere around 112-114 at best, that puts him in the, will always run well in a group 1 but unlikely to win one unless its poor category For me.

Like i said, if he retires now he will still command a decent amount of interest for his career at stud, a few more runs/loses and the gloss is totally off, queue the retirement. Possibly one more run in the 7f group 1 in france and thattl be it! Possibly.
