Well done to the Heath House team. Wasn’t that just brilliant to see.
October 2, 2022 at 15:17 #1616809Excellent from alp, i wasnt in too much doubt coming down the straight with TT closing in!
Shame vadeni got 2nd for soumi
October 2, 2022 at 15:18 #1616810Vadeni and Al Hakeem ran with credit. My chances sunk with the deluge i thought before the off. And so it came to be it would seem.
October 2, 2022 at 15:19 #1616811Best positioned horse won
Vadeni ran a lot better than I was expecting tbf
And I’d say torquator tasso would’ve likely won with a better draw
October 2, 2022 at 15:30 #1616815difficult to say hed have won FF but hed certainly have been up there pushing her
October 2, 2022 at 15:32 #1616816Travelled like a dream the whole way and then stuck her head down and out battled them at the end – fair play to Vadeni as I didn’t think he would get home in those conditions and last year’s winner did well from where he was.
Luke Morris rode an absolute peach, holding onto her as long as he could before kicking on – he looks very agricultural in a finish but gets the job done……..very down to earth but no rest for the wicked as he is riding at Wolverhampton tomorrow afternoon/evening for six rides.
October 2, 2022 at 15:34 #1616819Congrats to all winners!. She’s some mare, well deserved victory…any chance she goes next to BC Cup?
October 2, 2022 at 15:35 #1616820Damned draw!
October 2, 2022 at 15:36 #1616821Time was 6.11s slower than standard, 0.51s per furlong – 1.91s faster than last year.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 2, 2022 at 15:37 #1616822Mike, time suggests the ground wasnt much worse than the first two races if atall
October 2, 2022 at 15:43 #161682410f horses up to 12f ham. Some speed blunted for sure.
October 2, 2022 at 15:46 #1616826Dunno what happened to Luxembourg. Never saw him. 3 quick races too much? Or ground?
October 2, 2022 at 15:46 #1616827“Luke Morris rode an absolute peach.”
Ride of the Year in the circumstances.
No disrespect intended at all to Morris but he does not ride favourites in Group 1s every day, or even every week.
This was his opportunity to win one of the great Group 1s and he took it.
October 2, 2022 at 15:48 #1616828The Japanese horse who has won over 2m really made it a real proper test of stamina – I think she would have kept finding if the others had got to her earlier in the straight.
Wouldn’t be surprised if she is retired as it would be a perfect ending winning her 6th straight G1 and 8th straight win going unbeaten for 2 season.
That race would have taken a lot out of her and running again I feel would be a mistake for me – they will likely be looking to start off her broodmare career now as most of the female line stopped racing at 5.
October 2, 2022 at 16:00 #1616832Not how it works mike, time of the race suggests the rain didnt get into make the ground any worse
Horses speed being blunted from 10-12f is a different topic
The point being you said the rain right before the off affected there chance, the time of the race is telling you the rain never changed the ground so therefor they had the same chance prior to the rain as they did post rain…
October 2, 2022 at 16:02 #1616834Agree LD
On reflection, the right horses have finished 1-2-3 i wouldnt suggest anythings improved much, just theyve ran there respective ratings
Theyll be bumped up slightlt but all in all, fantastic race and fantastic result
Nice thread
October 2, 2022 at 16:09 #1616836The time you talk about ham was probably coz the Japanese horse went off fast pace. It looked hard work for most of the horses.
Taking nothing away from the winner she was gutsy.
